Announcing MobiLinc Connect for the ISY!

The MobiLinc Connect Service was created to give ISY users a reliable way to always connect to their ISY using MobiLinc no matter where in the world they may be.

 

Up till now it required someone with a good tech savvy background to setup the home network to make the ISY available from outside of the home. Even if one could get the internal network setup properly there are a number of problems introduced by the internet service provider changing the home's IP address from time to time. Not to mention all the network IP changes that happen on a power outage.

 

MobiLinc Connect was created to solve all of these connection issues and make it seamless to you. For our networking savvy customers that wish to continue to connect directly to their ISY series controllers we will continue to support the direct connect method in addition to the new MobiLinc Connect service.

 

What's required:

- ISY firmware 3.1.17.

- The MobiLinc Connect module for the ISY.

- MobiLinc app version 3.06.00.

 

Currently MobiLinc Connect is only available in our iOS version of MobiLinc. We are working to bring MobiLinc Connect to our Android customers and ask for your patience.

I see that my iPhone upgrade Mobilinc today. I do NOT have the latest ISY software. What changes did this latest AP do for me and do I need the ne ISY firmware for my Mobilinc to do its job?

Hi aLf,

 

You would only need the latest ISY firmware to take advantage of MobiLinc Connect our no port-forward service. MobiLinc will still work on the older ISY firmware releases and does offer new features outside of the MobiLinc Connect service. From the release notes:

 

New Features:

- MobiLinc Connect! Requires ISY firmware 3.1.17 or later and the MobiLinc Connect module.

- Please install the MobiLinc Connect module for your ISY through the Admin Console.

- You can upgrade your existing direct connection to MobiLinc Connect by selecting MobiLinc Connect from My Settings->Lighting Controller->Host Type.

- My Favorites page is dynamic and won't show empty catagories.

- New Lamp Icon.

- Added Contact Us option under My Settings. Reach us on Facebook, email, or the forums.

- Option to move the Plug-In Store and MobiLinc Store to the My Settings Page.

- Bug Fixes.

- Custom Status, Command Names, and ICONS are now supported for programs.

- Variables are now supported.

(HD ONLY) - Can specify a Favorite Path to execute for Programs under My Favorites.

- Users with very large setups: many speed improvements were made to enable immediate device and program control on a warm start of MobiLinc. Please upgrade to the 3.1.17 firmware release.

- Full SEP Services now supported for Energy: Price, DR Events, and Messages are now supported.

- Added support for the latest Dual-Band INSTEON devices.

- Bug fixes.
