Using ISY-26 behind NAT

My ISY-26 is working fantastic on my local network, but now I am trying to get it to work from outside of my network. I am using a Firewall/NAT server between the internet and my internal network (it is a machine running OS/2 and Injoy Firewall). I have set it up to forward port 16142, which is what ISY-26 is using, in both directions.

I am able to connect to the ISY-26 and get the "Please keep this window open" page and the java applet starts, but the java applet is trying to use my internal IP address to request the XML files. I end up getting the following errors:

"Socket open failed java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect"

"XML parse error http://192.168.49.8:16142/0/d.xml" (Notice the internal IP address of 192.168.49.8, which wont work from the internet)

Since I do not have a d-link router, I get "Internet Access Enabled: null" if I try to set internet access on.

I am using version 2.0 of the software. Any ideas on how to get this working?

The url to be used for accessing ISY remotely is slightly different. You should use:

http://external.ip.address:16142/0/x (note the last character is x - for external - rather than p)

Please let us know if this resolves your issue.

Thanks and regards,

Michel, thank you very much (again)! It is working perfectly. Now I can really mess with the family while I am away at work!
