jeffstahl Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I just purchased the module and confirmed my system is set exactly as the install requirements specified. At first I didn't have anything shown on my Elk page. After reloading my ISY firmware, I can see my Elk information. One thing is weird though... I takes about 2-3 minutes for the Elk screen to appear. When I click on the Elk page, my system remains frozen for a few minutes and then everything shows up. Is this normal? Secondly, the buttons to set the Arm Stay/Away, Disarm, and Goto Elk Console do nothing. A little help please...
Michel Kohanim Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Hello jeffstahl, Please do ensure that you have the latest firmware for your M1XEP. Usually, this is the cause for all strangeness! Furthermore, please note that there's a bug in current ELK firmware such that it bombards ISY with Common Area events. This can explain why you have slow response when going to ELK screen: viewtopic.php?p=58879#p58879 As defined by Elk: COMMON AREA - Another popular feature is the ability to have one or more areas made .common. to Area 1. This is often referred to as a .Vestibule Feature. Any of the Areas 2 thru 8 may be made common to Area 1. The result is: Area 1 cannot be armed until all its common areas are armed. Once armed, Area 1 will disarm if any common area becomes disarmed. This is good for lobbies or vestibules shared by two or more people. To set these, go to ElkRP, Select Globals --> G13 (Common Areas) With kind regards, Michel
jeffstahl Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 The M1XEP states: H/W Ver 1.0, Boot F/W 1.1.4, and F/W 1.2.14. I noticed that I had a newer firmware package on my computer that I hadn't loaded, so I went ahead and installed. Unfortunately, I apparently I had forgotten that this version locks up my Elk. When I try to connect, I get an error message "Failed to Connect to Server" with RP. The new version was Boot F/W 1.2.0 and F/W 1.3.10. If anyone has a never version that I can try, I'd appreciate any help. I don't know what the latest firmware is since I can't access the Elk download page anymore since they changed to a dealer program.
Michel Kohanim Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Hello jeffstahl, We can send you the updated ELK M1XEP firmware but cannot send you the one for M1. Would you like us to contact ELK and see if they can help? If you wish to have the updated M1XEP firmware, please send an email to support@universal-devices.com. With kind regards, Michel

They take a day or two approve you, but you don't have to be a dealer, you just have to own an Elk. I believe they require you to give them your Elk SN.
jeffstahl Posted April 16, 2012 Author Posted April 16, 2012 Originally, when they deactivated the old support website, you had to be a dealer to access the new download page. I suspect that they got enough complaints from the users to reverse this policy, but I was long gone as a trusted Elk supporter. I now have an account and downloaded all the drivers and will try to recover tonight. I will let you know. Thanks!
jeffstahl Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 I am up and running now... Thanks for your help!
