PLCGuy Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Hi Ken, The initial list of locks does NOT include Kwikset. Currently Schlage and possibly Yale. With kind regards, Michel Hi Michael We are in the middle of finalizing the design/purchasing for a retrofit project and soon we have to make some hard decisions on whether or not to use Zwave locks with a ISY99 for the project. So I was wondering if you could help out on a few questions: 1. If you have any news on the date for the beta release? 2. If you might be willing to provide a list of the Yale and Schlage locks that you know will work? (i.e. maybe the model #s that your team is testing with)3. Do we need the Nexia Bridge (I hope/assume not)? Can we use the VRCOP RF+3? (I hope so, because we have a few of these from a previous project).4. What Status can be obtained from the lock? I am hoping it is more than just the Lock or Unlock status of Zwave locks. Battery status and user id status would be very helpful. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Michel Kohanim Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Hi PLCGuy, Let me get more information from our development team and get back to you. As far as I know, we are very close. With kind regards, Michel
YoursmartHome Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 So will this module be an early gift for the holidays?
Michel Kohanim Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 I am hoping so as much as everyone else on this topic! With kind regards, Michel

Any guidance on items 2, 3 and 4? Thanks Eric
Michel Kohanim Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Hi Eric, 1. Only Schlage Lock for the first release 2. You do not need Nexia 3. You can get the status of the lock and which code was used to activate it With kind regards, Michel
dss Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I am grateful to just get Z-wave support for Schlage and have changed my levers to Schlage ones in anticipation, but one thing to consider as a reason/request to have ISY support for Kwikset locks in a future update is that the Kwikset deadbolt locks are motorized. So they can be controlled and slid to the closed position. The Kwikset deadbolts just unlock and depend on you to manually throw the bolt. For lever doorknobs that lock when the door is closed that is not a problem but for deadbolts it is a big issue. Our doors have both a lever and deadbolt so for functionality I would just have to leave the deadbolts unlocked. Even if lets say I put Kwikset deadbolts in along with the Schlage levers it would be a hassle to have to enter the combination in both the deadbolt and lever. The ideal solution is if both Schlage lever and Kwikset deadbolt were supported by ISY and you could program the deadbolt to unlock when you enter the code in the Schlage lever. Also would be great if you could have the alarm disarm when the combination is entered in the lock keypad. I would also like to have the capability to program all the locks to lock for evening lockdown. The Schlage Nexia controller cannot do even this simple task.
nathanstl Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 I'm very interested in this as well. Right now I would just want to add a couple locks, but could I use this to switch over completely to Z Wave switches, outlets, and motion sensors?
dss Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 I'm very interested in this as well. Right now I would just want to add a couple locks, but could I use this to switch over completely to Z Wave switches, outlets, and motion sensors? I think the plan is just to support locks which is the hole in the Insteon product line. From the few Z wave devices I've placed I've found them a bit laggy and prefer Insteon.
nathanstl Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Any updates at all on this? Still working on it?
Michel Kohanim Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Hi, Still working on it. With kind regards, Michel
mdonato Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 is this available, I'm finishing up a new build the end of the month and will be needing to make my choice between the ISY w/ Z-Wave and the Vera3. I'm really wanting the ISY, but how limiting will it be as Z-Wave is concerned? Will you be able to post a list? Thanks, any info would be appreciated.

I'm really wanting the ISY, but how limiting will it be as Z-Wave is concerned? Will you be able to post a list? Thanks, any info would be appreciated. The strategy I've adopted is just to use Schlage locks and use the Schalge Nexia controller for now and wait for the ISY Z-wave module. I can still manage and monitor the locks, set access, set temporary access, monitor who uses the locks and get email notification but cannot integrate it with the rest of home automation. But hopefully will be able to when support comes from Universal Devices arrives. A compromised solution for now.
Michel Kohanim Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Hello mdonato, We should have a list next week. Please sign up for our news/beta at http://www.universal-devices.com/register. With kind regards, Michel
Issacsim Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Hello mdonato, We should have a list next week. Please sign up for our news/beta at http://www.universal-devices.com/register. With kind regards, Michel Michel, Any chance you could post or PM part numbers for locks today? I need to change locks ASAP, would like to buy something compatible.
Michel Kohanim Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Hi Isaacsim, Yes, so very sorry: Schlage BE 369 - Wireless ZWave Keypad Deadbolt With kind regards,
arw01 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I like the line on the Schlag description, the non motorized deadbolt extends battery life as a positive. I don't know about everyone else, but I put my deadbolt hole offset just a bit so that when it is thrown the door is pulled extra tight. But to throw it, you need to push the door even tighter than the strike on the hand knob.
Chris Jahn Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Any plans for the Schrage FE599? We have only tested with the BE369, but I suspect the Z-Wave implementation is the same on all the Schlage door locks. If there is a difference then we will add support for it (and other Schlage Z-Wave locks) during the alpha/beta period.
KenN Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Just for everyone's info and interest, I noticed that Schlage has just recently added the BE469 series to their website. Touch screen keypad, motorized deadbolt. Somewhat limited info right now, but it does say Nexia compatible, so I assume z-wave. A few are cropping up for sale on Amazon, but seems to be limited stock. http://consumer.schlage.com/Products/Pa ... 0CAM%20716
Michel Kohanim Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Hello homejones: Yes: http://www.universal-devices.com/news/ . So, now we are preparing alpha kits for those interested ( With kind regards, Michel
belanger Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 On the news site it says "" At center stage is Universal Devices’ newest Z-Wave-enabled product which is based on the popular ISY994 ZS Series. "" . Does this mean z-wave will only be available for the ISY994 ZS series? Thank you.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Hi belanger, No, actually the alpha would be on INSTEON/ZWave solution. With kind regards, Michel
