I'm sure this conversation has been brought about before however some of the Google links provided seem to be outdated. I recently purchased a ISY994iZS/IR PRO without doing more research than I should have in regards to the ideas planned. Here are my objectives.

1. INSTEON home lighting...currently being implemented

2. Currently looking for a electronic deadbolt. I have seen many posts suggesting morning linc however trying not to be a Diva, the only finished provided do not match the rest of my house.

3. Purchased the Zigbee ISY hoping that maybe it would correlate with my Ecobee however just recently read that it doesn't.

I have also read that if a Z-wave compatibility is released, will I have to remove the Zigbee module?

Any update with Z-Wave?

Hello tflores,

ZS series is for SmartGrid communications; i.e. it can communicate with your SmartGrid meter.

Ecobee and NEST both have proprietary protocols that are not public and thus cannot be supported.

ZWave is coming along pretty well ... this said, if you want to use ZWave, you would have to replace the SmartGrid/Zigbee radio with a ZWave radio. You cannot have both.

With kind regards,

Michel
