mrjimmystewart Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Not sure what I am doing wrong, but when I go to File, Enable Internet Access, it starts, gets to 3%, then comes back with a message saying it failed. It does not say why, and there is nothing in the log to give me a clue. It was working, and all the cables etc are still hooked up properly. any ideas?
Michel Kohanim Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Hello mrjimmystewart, In all likelihood, your router does not support UPnP. In all cases, it's better to create manual port forwarding rules: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... PnP_Router With kind regards, Michel
mrjimmystewart Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 My modem does have the capability, its was working fine for over a year. I really liked the capability. It just stopped giving me access from either my iphone or Ipad. Not too bad, I gave up and just wrote programs from the computer and that was nice. Now this last week when I bring up the screen, its totally blank. I can't restore it. None of my programs work. None of the timers work. Nothing I have done has enabled me to access any switches. only one menu item is up, and none of the selections have any impact. Such as login, restore ISY, restore Devices etc. The individual switches do still work, and any that I manually linked still work. Just zero computer access or visibility. FWIW, one of the first things I installed was the whole house surge protector. The lights on the ISY have not changed in how they react to a power off. And generally the blue power light stays on, but no errors. Tried unplugging and replugging the connection from the ISY to the wall plug, no affect. I used it to turn outside lights on across the property, and timed light programs when I am not home. Any ideas on where I can start to figure this out? Hopefully I don't need to buy new units.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Hello mrjimmystewart, Is the problem only that you cannot get to your ISY remotely or that you cannot even get to your ISY locally in your home network? With kind regards, Michel
mrjimmystewart Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 I guess I had two problems. The most glaring issue was I could not access locally - no lighting programs would run and I could not get to any devices at all. Thinking it might just be the computer, I had restarted windows, but to no affect. Then last night I turned it off all night and this am it came up as normal. So embarrasing, but at least I can access the ISY locally now. So the other issue, the first issue is that I still cannot access anything remotely using the Internet and the AtHome software in Iphone Ipad. Everything was working great for 6 months or so, and I did not make any changes. It just stopped working. From the Ipad it says locating host, but times out before it get anywhere. All my connections look good, have stopped and started the ISY, the connection to the router, and the connection from the ISY to the wall power module that communicates with the rest of the devices. I have tried updating the software as well. Its just not communicating. I'm not sure how to debug it, not even sure if its hardware or software. Thanks for your help I am not schooled in the details of how the software communicates, so I'm shooting in the dark to figure it out.
