munchee Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Hi, looking for some help if you've ever experience this. Just got my ISY-994i, and trying to set it up. First time I connected this with the router and PLM, it said there is an issue communicating with the PLM and that I should restart the device. So, I unplugged everything, then plugged them back in. Here's where the issue come. When I plugged everything back in, the LAN LED at the back of the device didn't light up, my router didn't recognized that a LAN client was connected, and the ISY device only has the Power LED turned one. It has no activities, no network, nothing. I unplugged the whole thing again multiple time, same issue. I did a factory reset, pressing and holding the reset button for at least 30 seconds with power connected, nothing happened. I pressed and held it for at least 30 seconds with power unplugged, then plugged it back in while still pressing the reset button, nothing happened, only the Power LED turned on. Unit was not responding to anything. Then I unplugged everything including the power cable, left it overnight. The next day, I hooked up the unit again, this time it worked. The LAN LED is blinking, Power LED is on, RX and TX light has a little bit of activities. But it complained again about PLM communication. So, I stupidly unplugged the device again, and plugged everything back in. Now it stopped working again just like the day before. I don't know what happened. I am hoping that leaving it overnight unplugged will fix it again, but I do want to know what's going on. Have you guys seen this issue? Thank you
LeeG Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Plug in the PLM first. Give it a few seconds to boot up. Then connect the external power supply to the ISY. See if that provides communication with the PLM.
munchee Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 Thanks, but the issue is not the communication with PLM. The ISY unit itself is not rebooting, don't know why. Even when I just plugged in ISY unit itself (power + LAN), there is no LAN communication between the unit and my router. I left it plugged in for about 30 minutes, nothing. The LAN LED at the back of the unit didn't even light up. I tried hard reset/factory reset, pushing the reset button for 2 minutes, nothing happened, no activities, no light change, nothing. Does this mean the appliance is DOA? Thanks,
Michel Kohanim Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Hello munchee, Are you certain Error or Error/Mem lights on the front of the unit are not blinking continuously? With kind regards, Michel
munchee Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 Hi Michael, Yes, I am certain that no lights are on except the power light. At the back of the unit, the network LED is not turning on as well. Thank you
Michel Kohanim Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Hi munchee, Then, and unfortunately so, the unit is defective. I am so very sorry. With kind regards, Michel
