Insteon LED bulb

Hi guys,

This is a follow up to an earlier post regarding a new installation of Insteon LED bulb not responding to programs. I have new information that might inform the issue a bit better.

At the ISY home screen the bulb is seen in the MY DEVICES tab, but not in the MY DEVICES & SCENES tab. In addition, the scene created with the bulb as the only Insteon device is not recognized in the MY SCENES tab.

I wonder if this is why the program is not running? It can't find the scene...?

Ok, here is the program.

If

From 5:05:00PM

To 1:00:00AM (same day)

Then

Set Scene 'Scripps ON' On

Else

Set 'Scripps Light' Fast Off

Again, the LED bulb responds well to direct commands, but doesn't to programs. And the ISY does not see the Scene "Scripps ON"

Thanks for any insights.

I may have just seen my error...

If

From 5:05:00PM

To 1:00:00AM (same day)

Is the (same day) creating difficult? Just for clarification though, I was using a schedule command for sunset to sunrise, and no response there either.

OK, that seems to be working now, thank you.

Any idea why the scene is not being seen in the My Scenes or My Devices and Scenes tabs?

Also, I have two Insteon Thermostats I'm considering installing, but I can't get a good read on how ISY will recognize or control them. Searching for Insteon Thermostat brings up lots of threads, but not an overview. Can you point me towards the correct conversation?

Thanks again, and Happy New Year.

He is going to the ISY IP address which displays the various tabs the OP is referencing. He is not invoking the Admin Console. Just enter the ISY IP address alone into a browser command line to see what the OP is discussing

What does Help | About display?

I am running 3.3.7 which does show the Scenes with the My Devices and Scenes selection and it does show the two LED Bulbs I have defined.

LeeG is correct I am looking at the website, not a program per se. Thanks for the clarification.

I am using build 3.3.6

My other scenes are recognized, but not the ones with the LED bulb in them.

Upgrade the firmware, I guess?

Moving to 3.3.7 cannot hurt but I don't remember an LED Bulb fix being in 3.3.7. Does not mean that a problem did not get resolved. UDI is hoping to have 3.3.8 (RC5) by the end of the week.

When the Admin Console is invoked does the LED Bulb device definition indicate it is an LED Bulb or an Unknown or Unsupported device? What does the Admin Console show for the LED Bulb firmware level?

I have set up a Scene with one of the LED Bulbs as a Responder. The Scene does appear in the My Devices and Scenes list on 3.3.7.

That is the problem. Bring up New INSTEON Device (it will not actually be used) and click on the Device Type pulldown. Is there an [01.3A] entry (about 7th from bottom of [01.xx] entries for the LED Bulb? If the LED Bulb entry exists the LED Bulb has to be Deleted and added back under 3.3.6. If the [01.3A] entry does not exist at 3.3.6 it will be necessary to move to 3.3.7 (RC4) or wait a few days and go to 3.3.8 (RC5) when it is available. Then Delete and add the LED Bulb back so that it is not identified as an Unsupported device.

Thanks, it does NOT appear in the drop down menu.

I will wait for 3.6.8 to come out later this week, upgrade and see what happens.

Thanks for your assistance.

I'll will respond back to this thread after the upgrade.

Support for the LED Bulb is in 3.3.6. Suggest running Help | About and verify the ISY Firmware and UI (Admin Console) levels. It sounds like either the Java cache was not cleared or the URL for invoking the Admin Console has not been updated. When running on 3.3.6 Admin Console the LED Bulb has to be Deleted and added back which should now recognize the device. It is necessary to Delete the device as once the device has been added as Unsupported it cannot be changed without Deleting the device and adding it back.

Okay, checked the Firmware and UI and both are 3.3.6.

Deleted the bulb, cleared Java cache, and re-booted.

Re-installed the bulb, and still got an unsupported device 1.58 in the device heading. Device seen, but scenes not.

Sorry to have put you through all of that. The 3.3.1 post indicates support for the LED Bulb and I was on something before 3.3.7 when I added my LEDs. I have checked that 1.58 [01.3A] is in the Device Type pulldown on 3.3.7. Michel posted in another topic that 3.3.8 (RC5) is expected to be released Friday.

Thanks Michel

He is on 3.3.6 which I thought should also have the device type. I do have it on my 3.3.7. He is waiting for 3.3.8 only so that he does not have to update to 3.3.7 and then a few days later update to 3.3.8.
