Help with Brultech Setup

I can't seem to get the Brultech to connect to the ISY994i. I followed the steps in the ISY994 Energy Monitoring Setup guide. When I click on the Configure Routers button in the Zigbee settings it tells me to connect the ZigBee router to the USB port. How do I do that?

Well, that should solve that!

Do tell more about your Brultech purchase, which torrid coils did you buy, how comfortable did you feel putting it into the breaer box, etc.

Got any photos yet?

Does the Brultech software on the PC work?

I haven't put the Brultech Energy Monitor in the box yet, I want to get it communicating before I do that. I bought a standard package which came with 2 Split-200 CTs, 2 Micro-80 Cts and 10 Micro-40 Cts. I added 4 Micro-80 Cts to the package. For me, working in the panel is not a problem. I work with 480 volt 3 phase machines every day. Last month I replaced my 100 amp panel with a 200 amp panel because I upgraded my 2.5kw pv system to a 6kw pv system. I don't have any pictures yet, but I can post some after I complete the work.

Michel,

I went throught the setup procedure one more time. This time I noticed when I was typing the commands for the Brultech, I was getting an OK after each command. Previously it would just jump to the next line. After completing the setup, it worked fine this time. They are now connected.

Do post some photos please, and talk about how you are using the module and how you plan/hope to integrate the information into your HA system!

Besides knowing that my daughter's 40 minute showers cost me $.50 and my dryer load is $.50, I'm at a loss for what else I can use the meter for.

Years back I made up a laser through the hole system from a guy monitoring his power from PGE that way and it was enlightening to see the house uses 400 watts dark (the leak as they call it) which worked out to a pretty penny every month at .092 cents a kWh..

Michel,

I will be putting the rest of my CT's in this weekend, so this is a question pertaining to the CT's. My input 1 will be my main panel. I would guess if I am drawing power and not generating power, it should show polarized output. Input 2 is my solar array. If i am generating power the polarized power should show 0. On all of my Aux inputs, which will be connected to various circuits, these should all show polarized power if there is current draw through the circuit. Would these assumptions be correct?

Hello Mr. Moore,

Not having installed one with a solar panel myself and knowing all the different options that you can choose from, I think it would be best to bring Brultech tech support into the picture. If you wish, please send me an email (support@universal-devices.com) and I'll pull in Brultech engineer into the discussion.

With kind regards,

Michel
