Hello All,

Release 2.6.3 (RC2) is now available and may be downloaded immediately.

For fixes and enhancements, please peruse our beta forum at http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=930. You may also post your comments/questions and issues relating to 2.6.3 to the same forum.

IMPORTANT

1. For those upgrading from release 2.6, please note that releases 2.6.1 and above will use default HTTP/HTTPS ports of 80/443 respectively. As such, before upgrading Disable Internet Access

2. If you have used bookmarks, please update them accordingly. If you have problems finding ISY, try http://www.universal-devices.com/27

3. If you are upgrading from 2.6.1, please make sure you export all your programs and store them in a safe place

4. As always, please take a backup of your ISY

INSTRUCTIONS

- Userid = isy

- Password = autoupdate

- For ISY-26, download the update from http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip

- For ISY-99i Series, download the update from http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip

- Login to Admin Console and choose Help->Manually Upgrade My Lighting and choose the file you downloaded in the previous step

- Important: After upgrading, please close Admin Console, close all web browser processes, clear your Java cache, and reopen Admin Console. If there are any web browser processes running, the Java cache will not be cleared.

KNOWN BUGS

- Replace Device will change the device type to Icon LampLinc

- Intermittent System hang when used in conjunction with some mobile devices

- Thermostat mode is not synched between HTML and Admin Console

- Cannot change the Button Toggle Mode for KPLs v1.4

IMPORTANT NOTE

Beta versions 2.6.1 and 2.6.2 have a bug which prevents them from saving the programs during a backup. When using these versions, after doing a backup, please go to the Program Details tab, right-click on My Programs, and from the context-menu select Export in order to save your programs. Similarly, after doing a restore, select Import in the context-menu to restore your programs. This bug is corrected in beta version 2.6.3.

Thanks and with kind regards,

Michel

Thanks for all your efforts.

The upgrade to 2.6.3 went without a hitch. I tried using my Sprint PDA and there still seems to be an issue. I controlled a few things sucessfully then it appeared to hang, but didn't lock up. I pressed "off" on a device and nothing happened. I was able to get back to the main screen, went back to the device and tried again and it seemed to work. I did a query and then it locked up completely. Everytime it's had trouble I was on the EVDO connection and with the same ApplianceLinc, maybe a coincidence. I'll try playing with it some more on the WIFI to see if that has anything to do with it.

Best regards,

Ed

Hello Ed,

Thanks so very much for the feedback. You know what? This problem seems to be Sprint related: only Sprint Blackberry devices cause ISY to hang as well. In this respect, would you be amenable to helping us debug this? If so, please let me know ( http://www.universal-devices.com/contact.htm ) when we can get together on the phone and I'll monitor the traffic while you are banging away on our unit in the lab.

With kind regards,

Michel

When I went to backup my ISY from 2.6.2 it froze during backup. The second time it completed. Now whenever I click on either of the program tabs it freezes. I cannot access my programs but they do still work as triggered. When I log in to telnet it shows a list of pgm files all with 0 file size. I want to make sure I have them before I upgrade. What can I do?

az1324,

The problem is Java cache + there was a bug in 2.6.2 where the system would hang while backing up programs ... please close al your browsers before clearing your Java cache and retry.

With kind regards,

Michel

I followed the upgrade directions very closely. The issue seems to be when I enable internet access. It disables the internet access for my other websites that require an internet security certificate. I was able to confirm this when I disabled/enabled this feature several times. The URL was different. https://##.##.##.## not http:/##.##.##.##:#####/0/x. It must have done something to the ports, etc. All the websites started asking for user ID and password and I was getting certificate errors in Internet Explorer. I went back to 2.6 with no issues.

wjoel,

That's entirely possible if you have other devices on your network which use port 443 and which your router has that port dedicated to them. To fix this issue, you can:

1. telnet to isy

2. change your HTTPS port to something other than 443

Your url will be of the form https://your.external.ip:your_new_port .

Michel

I can't seem to be able to get the secondary buttons on a v1.0 Keypadlinc relay and v1.4 Keypadlinc dimmer into non-toggle mode. It says it is changed in the ISY interface but when I try to use the KP it is still in toggle mode.

Hello dss,

KPL 1.4 issue is a bug which was introduced in 2.6.3. KPL Relay is an open question to SmartLabs for which we do not yet have answer.

With kind regards,

Michel

Is this a bug in the Keypadlinc relay? If so I might as well return mine before I put them in.

Digger,

I cannot say it's a bug since we do not yet have the memory map to ascertain whether or not this is a bug!

Michel

OK if you find it is a firmware bug can you please post that? I have 3 that I have not installed yet and I will return them (if they let me) and wait until its fixed.

Have an ISY-99 running release code. When I attempt to upgrade to beta version (using manual upgrade - select .zip file) I receive the error:

Invalid or incompatible upgrade file

Any suggestions would be appreciated. By the way, I did select the link for the ISY-99 listed on the first message of this thread.

Thanks..

Hello 1001001 (73?),

I do apologize for the inconvenience. Would you be kind enough to retry the same link again (download)?

Michel

Hello 1001001,

I am so very sorry. This is quite strange since I just downloaded it again and upgraded our lab's without a problem.

Do you have any type of firewall software?

Is your ISY on the internet? Can I access it remotely? If so, please send us your link/credentials to support@universal-devices.com.

With kind regards,

Michel

Thanks for the prompt reply. Did try the download a few times, same results.

Thanks..

Hmmm, don't have the isy publicly available. Downloaded the file a few times and the zip file appears ok (code and web directories). But every time I attempt the manual update I get the error message.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help.

-Matt (by the way) : )
