ISY994

My admin console is very slow to update the status of the devices today. I can send commands through the admin console and they are executed as normal. However, it takes quite some time for the status of the device(s) in that command to update. The devices seem to update as usual when I access my ISY through the UDI Portal. Also when I sign out of the admin console it takes awhile for me to be able to sign back in because the admin console thinks I'm still signed in. This does not happen when I connect through the UDI Portal. Echo is also performing as normal. I am also unable to get the status of my devices on Mobilinc today.

I am new to ISY... one thing i can't figure out... When I have guests into our home, I like to give them browser access to my HA system. As i don't like to give them full ADMIN access, I'd like a "non-admin" type of account, so they can't get into they ISY and make changes (not that they would, but i feel uncomfortable giving that level of access). Is there a way to create a 2nd "non-admin" level account to give to non-admin folks onto my ISY? Thanks!

Hi guys! I am a insteon dealer and Ive been playing a lot with the system... I didnt focus a lot in selling the system (ive sold a few solutions though). Now my main job is getting really slow and I want to start this new automation business. My "problem" is that ive been digging so much the possibilities that I went too far with ideas, each "door/idea" I open, I find another 10 doors and I kept on going... So I would have to go back to the starting point and see how I can offer the system to customers. Can anyone help me with that please? I though of creating packages for people but once I think the Isy is better than the regular Insteon Hub (I never tried …

Hey guys Happy New Year (almost)! I am hoping someone can help me. After upgrading to 4.3.26, my DNS resolution on the ISY 994i is no longer working. NTP, email alerts, and now ISY Portal Module installation are all failing. I have checked my DNS settings and they are fine. All of my other computers on the same network can access DNS just fine. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks, Mike

I have a few devices (mostly on/off switches) controlled by an insteon hub. Planning on switching to ISY. Is there an easy way to move the devices and maintain the links so that my scenes continue to work? Or do I need to add the devices one by one and rebuild all my scenes? Thanks.

Well, I installed a phase coupler thinking that would help with my Insteon woes. It has not, though it did improve my X10 - I can now control an X10 lamp module from an old X10 RF transmitter that didn't work before. So it would appear the coupler is helping something. First, I started with no Insteon devices defined in my ISY. I then did the following: Unplugged the ISY and PLM Unplugged the serial line from the PLM Did a factory reset on the PLM: While holding the link button in on the PLM, I plugged it in - it beeped constantly for about 5 - 10 seconds and stopped, beeped once and then I released the link button. Hello, I am new to this and have an ISY994i and an On/Off plugin module. I would like to set up a repeating on/off schedule for the module, but also have the capability to manually operate the module, with it still responding to the next scheduled command. I have created a simplistic schedule, but if I try to turn off the module manually when it is scheduled to be on, it naturally reverts back on. So, I realize I need some more conditions in the logic to achieve what I want, but I'd like to make sure if this is even possible. It seems to me that I'd want to give a higher precedence to manual operations of the module, but I haven't found a way to do that so far. …

Hi, I know the answer is somewhere in the forums, but my internet access is dismal. Not so dismal that the admin console is working remotely. I would like to see the actual program status (red or green), to see the status of my programs. How do I set this? I believe when I'm local I was able to set this by right mouse clicking on the program and going to advance, but I cannot do this. Will this work remotely? Thanks PhanTomiZ

Hi, so I recently installed a new insteon dimmer switch and I am having a strange issue. The new dimmer switch seems to activate an insteon outlet switch I have had installed for years (and vice versa). If I push on/off the dimmer it turns on/off the the power to the outlet. Initially this happened every time. I successfully added the new dimmer switch to my ISY network thinking this may fix the issue. I was wrong. It modified the behavier, as now the issue doesnt happen every time. To make a very long story shorter, I wanted to delete the outlet switch from the ISY netowrk and re-link again. I'm running under Windows 7 Pro with Java 8 Update 66. I have two ISY-994I/IR-PROs that will be used at two different locations, however from time to time I would like to physically work on them to a single computer. I have them both statically set to the same IP address - which works fine as long as I don't plug them in the same network at the same time. To get Java to work I had to enter my static IP address into the Exception Site List. So far so good. The problem is that when I plug one device into the network and enter my static IP address everything comes up fine, but when I remove it and plug in the other device and enter my static IP address an…

I have a radio thermostat with a zwave module in it. I can control it just fine but there are some differences between the mode choices I get. Most importantly, if I go into the Admin Console there is a choice for "Aux/Emergency Heat". This helps me because I can choose to use my boiler instead of my heat pumps. When I visit the web interface, this choice does not exist in the list of choices even though the ISY does show the "Aux/Emergency Heat" status if I have set it via the admin console. How can I get the web interface to show the same options as the admin console?

Hi, I need an urgent assistance please. I having an issue wherein I could login to my ISY console. Hey all! Of course, my PLM bit the dust at 37 months, so I ordered a new one. I installed the new one but I have run into some major problems. I followed the instructions on installing the new PLM. But when I go to click restore PLM, it starts and then about 7 second later I get this: I attempted to restore my ISY with the backup I made prior to the last PLM failing but it did not work. As it is right now, when I first launch the Admin Console, it spends about 3 minutes with the "Please wait/do not make changes...." box as it slowly fills in the current status of each device on the network. I am awaiting the arrival of my 2406H phase coupler, which I hope will solve my Insteon communication issues which I posted about before. Seems the originator of a message could just set the initial value of the Hops Left field to something less than 3 if it wanted to limit the number of hops a message makes. Got my Fanlinc all setup. When selecting high on the fan motor through the admin console, it turns like it is on low. I believe I selected high before I started the transition (it is possible I pulled the chain the wrong number of times). And if I didn't set it right to begin with, how do I fix it? Thanks

I am trying to setup the Ceiling Fan with an 8 Button Keypad Linc. I have the buttons setup as scenes but when I turn the fan from Off to Low to Medium to High, I have to press the corresponding button twice. How do I make them responders and controllers to the function of the ceiling and the light? Thanks! R

I have 3 fans on my back porch all wired to the same "dumb" switch. I wanted to put them on a fanlinc and would prefer to use one fanlinc to run all 3 fans. I don't have any desire to control the fans separate, having them all go to the same speed at the same time is perfect. I see the fanlinc is rated to 1 amp for the fan, so obviously I need to check the amps and make sure that this is not an issue. Has anyone used a single fanlinc connected to multiple fans?

So I have a load in a 3 way situation (2 Icon switches controlling). One of those switches I want to change to a Keypadlinc. Will the KPI play well in that scenario and what special notes should I be aware of? Thanks!

I have motion sensors in each of my bathroom's linked to an Insteon SwitchLinc dimmer. For the most part they work very well, however every once in a while the "off" command doesn't trigger (I suspect RF interference is the culprit). When this occurs, I can see that the offending motion sensor status shows as "On" well after the timeout period which confirms that the ISY never received the updated status. That said, the light stays on indefinitely in that situation. I've been trying to write a simple program to monitor the status of the light/motion sensor which would turn the light off when this situation occurs. So far, none of my efforts have proven successful. …

I have DSCLink running and it is working ok. I have a motion hooked to the panel change a state variable in the ISY. I then have a program to turn on light when variable state is seen. It does. I then have a wait 5 mins and turn light off. However it doesn't wait. The second the motion sensor sees no motion the light goes off again. What am I missing?

I have 2 scenes that have this issue that I know of. Lately they have both been missing a device or 2 when the scenes are called by motion but if you hang out long enough to trigger another motion, it eventually comes on and some times it works as it should. I have rebooted the isy and it didn't help. Is there any way I can see why this maybe happening? thanks
