I would like to archive a picture(s) of cars that drive onto the driveway, and be able to review video before and after the time the image was sent. I'm thinking an outdoor wifi camera with storage (either internal, or SD card) would support what I want to do. Are there any cameras that would allow transmitting an image under ISY control? Are there some cameras with better wifi range than others, or are most of the wifi cameras pretty much the same? My network can reach the area for devices like iPads, and laptops, but don't know the sensitivity of the cameras. I don't want to use up network bandwidth for the video as a general course of action. But, if …

I have what should be a very easy problem to solve, just can't find the right approach. I have a simple setup with a lamp and motion sensor. Motion sensor control turns on, turn on the lamp, wait x minutes then turn off. The challenge is I do not want the motion sensor to turn the lamp on after we've gone to bed. I have accomplished this with a simple program: If Control 'master bedroom sensor' is switched on And $sunset is 1 And $bedtime is not 1 Then Set 'Master bedroom lamp' on Wait 15 minutes Set 'Master bedroom lamp' off Else - No actions $sunset and $bedtime are integer variables as they are a simple validation of conditio…

I've had it in place about 1 year since they were introduced. Failed 4 times in last 6 weeks. ISY PLM restore gets it back so just got RMA for replacement. UDI version still on radar? This makes me want to pull all this high tech out of walls throw it away. If it were not for ISY, I'd be done with SH.

I have 3 modules used to control Christmas Lights. These 3 show up red in the device tree. An inspection of the device's information shows them correctly as responders. The "Controller for" field is blank. I may be just having a senior moment buy why are the devices red?

On occasion I go back and look at forum (thanks all) and see if there are better ways to accomplish tasks that I may have used brute force to accomplish (as a programmer from a few years ago, the ISY mixture of trigger and If structure took me forever to appreciate subtle usage -- love it now). Following is one of my first ISY programs sets (actually recall more Michel than me). It uses a motion sensor to turn on a light outside a garage door but prevents program from turning it if off if it was already on due to fact that I had turned it on at switch. Continued motion resets timer so that light will remain on for 10 minutes after last motion detected. It was bef…

I am using my gmail account within the email/notification to send my verizon cell a text when a sensor is triggered. At times it can take up to 10 minutes for me to receive the message. Sometimes is instant. Is this a verizon or gmail issue?

I finally migrated my ISY99i to my ISY 994i. In the process I've had two things go bad. The first one is that one of my KeypadLinc Dimmer's shows the "write changes icon", even after I say to write changes out. The attached also has the log attached. It seems that it is stuck trying to write changes out, but it can't. Any ideas?

I am trying to get started with security cameras and I'm not really sure which way to go. I've got ISY with Insteon, but am pretty much just using it with switches and lamp modules at this point, but want to expand it more. Additionally, I was looking to add a motion sensor to the porch to turn on the lights as someone approaches the front door. Since there are similar requirements, trigger an action when something is moving, I was hoping to kill two birds with one stone. Are there any recommendations for products/configurations that are relatively simple to setup? I've looked at the Insteon cameras, as well as a couple IP cameras and really don't know which way t…

I was in my porch area when I had an all on event. I've seen others talk of this and I'm not sure if they mean everything turns on or just a scene that has all on all off. I'm my case it turned on a scene that had about 6 lights come on. I do have a motion sensor in the porch that turn on the porch lights and the lights were on. I think it may also have been at the same time the deck lights turned on with a sunset program. I saw that my outside light was on and the 8 button keypad also showed it was on as well as the other lights. The outside light is part of the all on scene. As soon as I pushed the button on the keypad to turn off the outside lights, all the lig…

I’d like to be able to control a LG TV using my ISY. Turn on/off, open Netflix app on TV, etc. Is this possible? If so, I presume it’s done via REST commands? Could someone point me in the right direction to figuring this out/describing what can be done (if anything)? I’ve got a LG Smart TV model 55LB7200. I currently have it hardwired into my network and wireless turned off.

I have two 6-button KPL's at either end of my dining room. I want to mirror the A-B-C-D buttons on both KPL's to control 4 scenes for the dining room. What I did: Created 4 scenes of devices Set buttons A-B-C-D on both KPLs to exclusive (radio buttons) Put both A buttons in Scene A as controllers, both B buttons in Scene B as controllers,..... and so forth. What happens: Working with one KPL station is fine. I can select any scene and the button LED's track. The second KPL station LED's do not track the first station, so all LED's eventually are lit. Am I missing something OR do I need to create a program to keep the buttons on the se…

Hey everyone. I got a strange issue that may just be paranoia. It's been getting cold out so I have had the furnace on but lately it's been giving me issues. I keep getting errors from the furnace causing it not to function. It's a new high end York modulating furnace that has no insteon control yet. The furnace tech has been out twice now since it obviously has warranty only being a little over a year old. Now since it has not been fixed yet I have started to research the issue myself. I get an error code "unexpected gas flow" so when I did my own poking apparently the furnace uses the flame sensor to diagnose this problem. If the flame sensor is on fire it produces a DC…

Is there a tutorial/document that explain how and what is needed so I can trend, say 15 temperature sensors at 15min intervals for about 1 month before fifo takes over? Can I store these logs on an SD card in ISY in csv or similar format? Also, is there a summary page in ISY where the status of the z-wave network/nodes are displayed and shows what is online/offline? cheers, Amigo

Hi, I have an older ISY-99IR pro which has worked well for me. I recently purchased an amazon Echo which I find to have a lot of potential. I would like to use voice commands for insteon devices, and I see there are two separate attempts being made to do just that. Before I embark I would like to make sure that my current hardware will work. I posted originally in one of the Echo threads and was told I need the REST interface. Also, since it is that time of year what advantages to the 994 would make me want to upgrade (and is their an upgrade price?). I do need the IR portion as I'm using a remote to control some lighting in a home theater environment Tha…

I have a little bit of a head scratchier on my hands and would appreciate any insight / feedback. To start these are the current parameters I am working with. 994 Series Controller using the latest 4.4.1 Beta build. The Fan Linc shows up as .41 firmware in the ISY Admin Console. My goal was to integrate a new ceiling fan which operates perfectly fine in all aspects. The initial HVAC regulation program I crafted was in pretty simple in all aspects in my mind which is seen below: MBR Ceiling Fan - [iD 02B3][Parent 00D9] If From 7:00:00AM To 8:00:00PM (same day) And Status '01 Main Left / 08 Furnace' >= 500 Watts (Current Power…

I have a 6 button KPL that has been working for several years. Just recently when I push the main "off" button the light on Button A goes off. Buttons A and B are set to non-toggle on and buttons C and D are set to non-toggle off. If I press button A again, the light comes on. The main button and button A are not connected in any scenes. Any ideas?

I have the following program designed to execute at bedtime. However, I can find no way to change the status of the KPL button to OFF once the program has run. Thus, I am left with a button that must be pressed again the following day to return it to OFF status. How can I accomplish my objective? Dad's Bedtime - [iD 0019][Parent 0001] If Status 'Family Room KPL / FR KPL A (Bedtime)' is On Then Set 'Kitchen Lights (Hallway)' On Set 'Chandelier (Upstairs)' On Set 'Dad's Bedroom (TL)' On Wait 1 second Set 'Family Room KPL / FR KPL 1 (Light On and Off)' Off Wait 2 minutes Set 'Kitchen Lights (Hallway)' …

Looking for some guidance on the setup of a 3-way light. I'm pretty sure I've nailed down what wire is what but am not sure how to connect my Insteon switch at each location. My desire is to install a 5 button controller in the load box with an on/off in the line box. I have attached pictures of both in hopes that someone can direct me. Installing a single switch is relatively straight forward but I'm lost when it comes to 3-way. The switch in the load box that i will be replacing is the one on the right (or top, sorry for the orientation).

I have a strange problem and wondered if anyone else noticed this? I have a program that turns several lights on at sunset each day. When the program is initiated by the isy a few lights fail to turn on. This failure occurs about 50% of the time and is not always the same devices, seems to be random. The strange thing is that when I run the "then" command from my Andriod device running mobilinc all the devices turn on, even the ones that failed when the isy triggers the program. I have good comm through my entire house and never have any comm issue. What might cause this inconsistency? Should not make a difference what triggers the program! ISY994i v4.3.26
