Just replaced my old 99i with a 994iZS/IR Pro and am trying to tie it into my electric meter. Most of the process has worked according to the instructions in the setup guide, but stops at the point where it is sequencing through Scanning, Joining and Down. I have a switchlinc that has worked flawlessly for years but now when you turn it on either manually or remotely it ramps up and down and brightness over and over at about a five second cycle rate. I have tried a restore from the ISY but to no avail. Do you think a wire has come loose or is it just time to replace it?

I need to buy a new PLM for my Insteon system. I have seen some references on the forums about a UDI version of the PLM. Is it available for purchase or should I just go ahead and order the Insteon version (2413S) and hope for the best.

I am assessing the usefulness of the subject thermostat(s) to my application. We are frequently away from home and, following power outages, the day/time data become inaccurate. When I program the ISY and use day/time, will the program use the incorrect data in the thermostat or will it ignore the data in the thermostat and use day/time data from the ISY? Will the ISY be able to manage months/years at some point in the future? What about temperature data obtained using the weather module? Thanks.

I have the ISY994i and needed to replace an 8 button KPL with a new switch(2334-22). The old one was malfunctioning and had disappeared from the admin console. I was fine starting from scratch and adding new scenes for buttons that would be different from the old switch. I did the usual and clicked Link Management then New Insteon Device and typed in the address and added a name. I let the system auto discover the device and remove existing links(though it's a brand new switch). The device chirped at me so I know the system recognized it. However, it is not showing up anywhere in the admin console. How can I locate this switch in the system so that I can actually …

Hey guys, I just tried logging into my system remotely and none of my devices are responding. I tried controlling them through the admin console and also through MobiLinc. If I view the event log I can see that the commands were sent out but I don't see any status reply from the device. I'm not at home right now so I'll have to wait until I get home from work to trouble shoot. Any ideas where to start? Thanks, Chris

I have ISY 994i IR/PRO with Z-wave add on radio board. I have recently added about 15 Z-wave devices. Everything is working fine but suddenly I noticed that that the Craftsman Assurelink garage door opener has stopped working. The green light on its internet gateway keeps blinking indicating that it is not communicating with the opener. The gateway communicates with opener on 900 MHz which is nearly same as of Z-wave devices. The opener was working fine before I started adding the Z-wave devices. I cannot say for sure whether Z-wave devices are causing any interference. Does anyone have any similar experience? Is there a way to eliminate Z-wave devices without disconnecti…

Can anyone help a beginner with setting up a Garage door kit to work easily with MobiLinc not a keypad. Right now if I just link them and run them from the devices with the I/O link in momentary C I have to press the command many times to get the door to trigger. thank for your help!

Not sure if this is the correct place for this question but here it is: Is there a reason that the DB KPLs (2334-222) do NOT show up in the ISY admin console as dual-band devices in the name? It seems slightly confusing since almost all other devices show up with this indicator. It shows up as "(2334-2) KeypadLinc Dimmer 8 Buttons v.XX"

I'm interested in integrating control of everything in ISY with all my A/V stuff, along with iTunes/Airplay. Does anyone have any suggestion for the best remote for this purpose? I've tried Roomie, but didn't particularly like the integration with ISY supplied with it - seems rather primitive, not sure how to call programs and such. It would be nice to be able to pull/poll state information about Insteon devices, ala a dedicated app like Mobilinc Pro, while adding the traditional universal remote control stuff that Roomie or something similar provides.

Is it possible to capture event the Event Viewer logs on level 3 without leaving the java console running, or report these to a syslog server?

Hoping for some advice on whether the ISY would be a good solution for pool automation - in particular, controlling a solar boost pump... Over the last year my garage door openers for my car have slowly died. (Replacing the batteries didn't help). I was thinking, rather than purchasing new garage door openers, (or a new garage opener unit if that is what is failing), I could use one of the Mini Remotes. I already have the IOLinc to control my garage, so the Mini Remote would be a simple addition. I am in desperate need of increasing the range of my system. I have a roughly 50 item insteon network in my small home and all works great! My one issue is away from my house in one corner of my property about 100 feet away I have a dog house with two lights on it controlled with a dimmerlinc. I also have in another corner a post that has spot light controlled by a inline relay inline link that is about 100 feet away from anything else as well. My issue is the 100 foot distance must be right on the limit of the power line range and is definitely out of range of any of my dual band items wireless. Is there anything I can install to increase the range to get these two items…

Help I installed 2 new SwitchLinc Switches yesterday. installed them as new devices in the admin console, but they were not added to any scenes. I noticed this morning that they are controlling each other. They are in separate rooms all the way across the house, so it is not wiring. I tried removing them and re adding them, adding them to a scene that linked them together and removing them, but they are still controlling each other. What do I do to unlink them? thanks David

So, I never used a KPL before now and must be doing something very wrong. The larger top and bottom "load" buttons work as expected, but the four smaller middle buttons don't seem to be able to control anything and only show up in the Admin Console and MobiLinc as a "Status Only Device". How do I make one of the four smaller buttons control another wall switch? Why do the four small buttons only show up as "Status Only Devices"? Thanks, Brad

Hi everyone, In my living room we have a large front window with horizontal blinds in them made of wood or the faux wood like 2" slats. To tilt them up or down to close them and open them, there's 2 strings hanging on the left side with plastic balls on the bottom, so pretty common, pull one down and the other raises with the slats closing one direction, then pull the other cord down and the slats close the other way. I'm just wondering the easiest option to be able to control them from my ISY994 with Z-Wave in terms of just having them move from closed to open, so very little movement so that it can be on a timer and what not, if that's even possible? I put my Remotelinc into programming mode (blinking light) and attempt to update it. I continue to get error messages from my ISY (red !) and a message saying it could not communicate. This is more a curiosity question than anything else and I'm wondering people's thoughts & opinions on using Wire Nuts versus Wall-Nuts. (Also, not sure if this belongs in this sub-forum or the insteon communication one) I just started swapping out some of my 5-gang & 6-gang metal boxes for plastic ones to hopefully get one step closer to perfect Insteon Communication . In the process I decided to use a combination of WAGO 773 Wall-Nuts (for the solid copper connections) & WAGO 221 Terminal Blocks (for the twisted copper connections, ie insteon switch wires). I would like to replace an Outdoor Module (2634-222) with an On/Off Module (2635-222). After I linked the On/ff module I Control-Clicked; Mac) the Outdoor Module and the Replace option did not appear. Before I start chasing this, is the On/Off Module an approved replacement?

I'll state right off the bat that I'm new to the ISY-994i.... I'm trying to get a lamp to cycle on for and hour, then off for two hours, and then repeat, during the day between 8:00am and 10:00pm. Incase you're wondering, it's the lamp for a scentsy fragranced wax pot... As a test, i came up with this program which I titled 'Test' to cycle the lamp on and off every 10 seconds - so I could watch it and not have to wait for hours. I just added my first Synchrolinc and adding the device went fine however when I click on the "options" button in the ISY admin console I get a "Request Failed" error. There is no prompt to click and hold the set button down till it flashes to enter the options and the manual only says to use the to set for "load sense" but that should be for outside the ISY. Is this truly a communication error or am I dong something wrong? I don't have any communication errors normally in my home so its strange this is happening so figure I must be doing something wrong.
