I understand that program state by default is "False" and when its condition is being evaluated or the program is running the state changes to "True". I have a couple of simple programs that I created to automate turning lights on and off. When the first one executes to turn the lights on its state turns to "True" while running and then "False" when it finishes (most of my other programs do that). Ok, so now that my insteon network is working I'm trying to add IR control. I have the ISY responding to IR and I wrote my first basic program but here is my issue. I want to create a single toggle button (meaning a single IR code) to turn the lights on if off and off if on. I thought it would be as simple as If button1 pressed and lights ON turn OFF, else turn ON. This mostly works however it seems that when the lights turn off, they then also immediately turn back on because according to the ISY IR page, the IR button is still in the PRESSED state. Apologies if this has been asked and answered before (I couldn't find it). I am setting up IP cameras around my house with a DVR/NVR. I'd like to create an ISY program that when motion is sensed and certain condition apply (e.g. not at home), in addition to recording the video, takes images of the scene and email or text them to me. Is that possible? Do I use the motion sensing in the camera or should I add a dedicated motion sensor? Any setup instructions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm setting-up a structured wiring enclosure with some surge-protected receptacles (these). The PLM quick start guide says not to use an AC line filter to power the PLM - would these receptacles be considered filters? I didn't think so, but the I get intermittent communication issues when the PLM is plugged-in to one of the surge protected outlets. In an unprotected outlet, I don't seem to have the issue. Just wondering if surge suppressor outlets "ought" to work with the PLM. (Signalinc is installed at the breaker panel)

I am trying to control the lights in my closet with hidden door sensors on each of the two doors to/from the closet. 2x 2845-222 configured as two nodes each in each door 1x 2477D controlling the load on the lights ISY994ZW 4.2.18 Firmware The 2477D is between the two sensors and there is less than 5' from sensor to switch. ]I've installed a Togglelinc (2466DI V6.0) to control some outside patio lights. IT doesn't seem to want to complete the set up and the green icon indicating that I need to write updates to the device won't go away. I've attached a screen shot of the Event Viewer. Any ideas what's wrong? It is in a box with 3 other switches which do go to different circuit brakers on the main panel.

I'm using ISY 994i, v.4.2.30. A few days ago my PLM (2413S) seemed to stop working (scenes were not getting turned on/off programmatically) and after running several diagnostics, I was able to convince SmartHome to send me a replacement. Now that I've installed it, it looks like I have good comm and I can control devices just fine. But I can't turn on/off devices by turning on/off scenes. No scenes work anymore. ISY tells me the devices are on, but they aren't. I've tried restoring devices, and I've tried deleting all devices and re-defining them in ISY. I'm trying to use Tasker to send an HTTP Post command but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm triggering the task manually in Tasker so it is running, so it's not a Tasker issue. I'm using the following format for the HTTP Post command http://username:password@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:yyyyy/3?0262zzzzzz0F11FF=I=3 I am on my network locally so I am using my internal IP address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) and port (yyyy) and the Insteon device ID zzzzzz but it doesn't seem to work. I've been rewriting some of my code recently and have moved a bunch of routines around. I have a flag called 'Send Email Alert' which I set to either True (1) or False (0). It's currently set to 0 and I've confirmed it. It's an integer variable. I have a program that senses Elk motion and, when an Elk PIR zone is violated, it sends an email to me. The code looks something like this If elk zone gate motion is violated then notify default blah blah blah That program lives inside a folder which *should* only allow the program to run if the flag 'Send Email Alert' is True/1 For the most part it works. Just trying to figure out which would be a better way to go. Motion is good when it works. when the batteries are good etc. if i have a standalone toggle insteon switch could I just somehow program it so if it is turned on, it turns off in 10 minutes? If the fan is needed longer the switch can be turned on again for the next 10 min. Just trying to rule out having to rely on motion. Thx.

I recently enabled my ISY994ZS to connect with the PG&E Smart Meter at my residence (Thank you, Michel!). I am confused by some of the readings that I get, and don't get, from it, to wit: I wrote a notification to periodically display all the various options available in the Utility-Meter drop-down list for variable substitution. Not all of the parameters return a value as expected, only a few do so. For example, none of the status flags return a value; the kWh for Today and Yesterday both return zero. Hi all, I just installed a new router. This one includes UPnP support. My previous router did not. I currently have my ISY configured with a static internal IP (public IP is not static) and have setup a ddns account via my router. For remote access, which is the better way to configure the ISY, using UPnP or not? I've never had need to use UPnP in the past. Hello, I am new to this. I have an ISY994i and Powerlink Serial modem talking to two Insteon Dimmer Switched, 2477D, set up as 3 way switches. All is good. Can talk to the switches through My ISY and MobilLinc iPhone app. So I decided to add a Insteon 74551 Garage controller and status kit. I press and hold the button on the side of the garage controller until the LED blinks. Went back to the My ISY SW and querried the ISY and it does not get recognized. I thought it may be a proximity issue, though only about 10ft from the dimmer switched. I ran a short extension cord to a plug closer to the light dimmer switches. Still, not showing up in My ISY. Hi. After living with my setup for a few years, some persistent issues have cropped up and I'd love some input. My biggest issue has to do with how I manage scene's from My KeypadLinks. Without getting into a ton of detail (although I'm happy to if it helps); In my family room, I have 2 KPLs on either end of the room. The scene layouts more or less mirror either other on the KPL so you can initiate a scene from either end of the room etc. All of the Scenes are triggered by Programs on the ISY which are configured according to "Condition/State/condition/nextstate" how-to's wonderfully explained elsewhere on this site.
