I have a very basic requirement, but being totally new to ISY programming.... I could use a bit of a hand. I've got a SwithLinc Dimmer connected to a single light in my dinning room. I'd like to figure out how to create time dependant ON levels. I'd like the lights to come up at 50% from Sunset to Sunrise, and 100% the rest of the time. I'd also like to be able to trigger this behavior from both the SwitchLinc itself and MobiLinc Pro. I've got some basic ideas on where to begin, but can't be too sure. I have a program that's set to turn on my entry hall lights under a variety of conditions (I know lots of parenthesis, but it keeps things clean and usually more reliable). For some reason, the program will not trigger for a "Kitchen Motion - Sensor, CONTROL ON" event even when it's between 4:30am and 9:00pm and the Entry Hall LIghts [Gar] is off. Yet, it DOES trigger for a "Garage Motion - Sensor, CONTROL ON" event. Can anybody see what I'm missing here? FYI, I have checked the log file and it clearly shows the "Kitchen Motion - Sensor" going to 100% but the program is not triggered. This thread will outline the materials, equipment, and process required to build and install a custom lighted doorbell - integrated into your Insteon network. I will include all of the programming used to control the button. The button lights up at night, turning off when pressed (while the chime sounds). During the day, the button is off, lighting up when pressed (while chiming). The chime can be anything you have an MP3 of - assuming you have followed MrD's excellent tutorials on using an NSUL2 along with your ISY-99's network resources. Stay tuned for details.

I have added my new MS to the lighting scene which contains the kitchen light and the KPL button. Shouldnt the KPL light follow the light when the MS sent the on signal and off when the off signal was sent? thanks!

I had two 2487s keypads, one of which I had to replace and during the reinstall I went into the drop down and no longer could find 2487s, used auto discover and its showing up as unsupported. I also found that my other 2487s is showing as not supported. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong - is there something I need to do to get this to work properly?

Hello, I have a new home I am building and getting my ISY (3.3. setup with some programs. I have a 8 Button Keypad by my front door to control various scenes. My "Front Porch Can Lights" are wired directly to Scene A. I have another set of lights "Outside Front Can Lights" controlled via an Inlinelinc What I am trying to do is get both sets of lights to turn on at Sunset. I want both sets of lights to stay on until 10PM. I purchased my ISY994i IR/Pro about a month ago and my only regret is that I did not get it sooner. I have everything working as expected until last Friday morning when Comcast had an outage for about 20 minutes. After the internet came back up I rebooted all my equipment and started troubleshooting. Without going into two days of details I would like to share where I am at now and look for suggestions: 1. I've got a scene "MBR-Master" that has stopped reporting it's state properly. It basically just looks like it's always on in MobiLinc. When I do the "Scene Test" it tells me everything is fine, but when I refresh in MobiLinc I guess a bunch of errors telling me it can't open certain files. Ok first of all let me admit I am an isy addict and LOVE the interface and how well it controls my whole house setup, so sorry to even bring up smartlinc. However, I also have a cabin up in the Sierra mountains with internet connection, but no where close to the needs of the power of an isy. so my question is to merely turn on a few lights remotely and maybe a insteon thermostat will the smartlinc solve my needs.... or will I be excessively disappointed that I did not just spend the extra money on a second isy??? Can anyone help me out with a simple code example? I am trying to run a program hourly between two specified times and I am clearly using the wrong expressions or getting them in the wrong order. I can't seem to get a trigger from the IF line when using time X to Time Y and I've tried wait/repeat at 60 mins but it never repeats. Just wondering if anyone has a short bit of code to share with me to show me how this is done. Thx.

Hi, I am trying to program so that the light is always ON From - To time. So if someones turns off, it would turn back ON automatically. I was able to accomplish this with two programs but is it possible to do this in one program? Thanks!

Hey All, I would like to setup a couple of panic mode buttons for the wife and kids. I am new to the programs still and could use a little advice. There are a couple I want to setup. First is a silent alert that sends me a text if it is tripped. That one is easy. The other is a real panic alarm that if it is tripped, every light in and out of the house will flip on an off for 10 minutes, send me a text as well as a couple of things. Hopefully that would scare any not so determined person away knowing my whole neighborhood is being alerted. I am stuck though. Can you take a look? I'm no expert on the underlying methods of insteon networks but was curious about this. Let's say I start with two devices in two different rooms connected by a hallway. Let's say they can communicate directly. What happens if a bunch of devices are added in between? Would the commands hop between all those closer devices to reach the target at the end or just go directly to the target bypassing all those devices?

I was told by the hvac salesman that i could keep my venstar thermostat and use it to control my proposed carrier split system - one stage variable fan system. This unit allows for setting humidity and my venstar & isy99i indicate humidity, but i doesnt seem to work at all... 1) there are newer firmware versions of the venstar that report humidity properly? 2) would one of those be able to report and control the carrier's humidity settings? I have a 6 switch controller in the garage and a program activated when the Off button is pressed. The program sets the scene 'interior' off, the interior scene contains all the outlets and switches in the house. Question is the controller that is in the office controls lights in the office and does not update the status correctly on the scene b button. Eg when i press the off button on the controller in the garage, all the lights turn off but the controller in the office still is lit indicating that the light is on when in fact it is actually off. I am curious what people's solutions are for getting audio feedback throughout their houses. I'm not looking for high quality per-room speaker systems for playing music, but a minimalist way to get audio in each room for doing simple things like playing audio files, text-to-speech, or beeps and boops in reaction to ISY events. Have an ISY 99i/IR that's been running fine for a couple of years now. The current system on it is 3.2.6 and I wanted to upgrade it to the latest one since I just got a couple of the Insteon Leak Sensors and the system doesn't recognize them (read elsewhere in the forum that I needed a newer system upgrade). In the past I've used my wife's WinPC but have disabled Java on it due to security concerns and she uses it for her accounting Business. I'm trying to do the upgrade on my iMac OS 10.8.2. Hi folks, i've followed the instructions on the wiki: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... ion_Sensor but I am not able to link it to my ISY994 This is what I enter for the new device: but when I press OK, that dialog closes and I get this following dialog and then nothing else: i'm expecting to see the dialog where it tells me to put the device into linking mode, like it has for my 3 other motion sensors I've linked. Any idea of what's going on? I'm on the v.3.2.6 firmware / v3.3.9 UI

I'm sure that this has been answered before, but I can't find it in a search. Too much info comes up when I search. 1) What benefits would I expect to gain if I upgrade to a 994i? 2) Does the hardware change or is it more like buying a new module where I can do it all online? 3) Is there anything important that I need to know about making the switch? I wouldn't have to start over or spend hours getting the new unit to work, would I?

Anyone have advice on what they use as a loud siren. I don't have an alarm system, but I'd like to trigger a few Insteon-controlled sirens around the house. My first thought was to find a simple loud horn that plugs in to a outlet linc. That's been hard - it seems most alarm horns are low power...which I guess means going the whole I/O linc route? Anyone else get an intermittent result when having notifications sent? I have setup a Verizon account so the ISY can send out notifications to me (a fun little program here and there). When I test, the test notifications come though, but when I have it run though a program and have it send something, it does not always come though. For example, I ran the Then command on one of my programs that sends notifications, I had to run it 4 times before I actually got my text, not sure where the other 3 ended up. **Edit** Checked the error logs, seems I'm getting below, sometimes it sends them all flawlessly (just set it up to send 4 times with a 10 second wait between all…

I have a kpl button controlling a lamp which I only want to go on at 70% I have the kpl button as a controller in a scene and the lamp module as responder I've set the lamp module at 70% but the kpl button can only be set on The result is that when I press the button the lamp goes on at 100% instead of the desired 70% Any suggestions?

I just had one of my insteon devices completely fail. The ISY-99 can no longer see it and none of the LEDs illuminate. I removed the device from the ISY-99 using the Remove command and it appeared to delete successfully. I then viewed the PLM link table and noticed that the address of the removed device still shows up a few times. Is this expected? Is there any other way to completely remove a dead device from the ISY-99? Thanks Adam
