If the version on the item is not clearly shown as being other than v.00, is that an issue? Right now the EZIO 2 X 4 shows as being v.oo, will this cause communication errors or operational errors? What type of errors will this cause? I attached the picture, please have a look. We are having communication errors at our customer site, that's why we are asking this question.

On the about box, there is no mention of Radio Frequency, but we have the PLM. Is it possible the ISY994I is the wrong version, we should bought ISY994IR. Hi, I was curious about the triggerlinc in the ISY. It seems that the 'closed' part of a triggerlinc tends never to be active. I have two triggerincs, a garage and a driveway triggerlinc. The garage, has opened and closed. Closed never does anything. Its either the garage opened is on or off, closed is blank. Is this the normal behavior? I have another triggerlinc that is connected to a driveway alarm. For the most part that one is on or off on the open part. I looked now as I have a program that will turn all exterior lights on for 20 minutes if its after 430pm until 7am if it goes off. It also sends me an email when driveway open is tu…

Hi, I had an old ISY, I lost it during my move, replaced it with a ISY994, then I found it. At the moment I cant find it but I was mostly interested in reviewing my old programs. I dont know if I would use them but I was hoping to take a look, decide if there is anything helpful or not. How would I do that if I have a back.zip file? I dont want to mess up the new ISY994. I have an 8 button KPL that i am using to control christmas lights... I have one button controlling my inside lights scene - works just fine - when i press the button, all devices toggle on and of with a button press and the LED indicates if the scene (and device) is on or off... I have occasionally encountered a strange communication problem between the ISY-99i and the Administrative Console. When started up, the Admin Console fails to display the status of any device, either in the My Lighting summary or in the individual device screens. When I issue On and Off commands from the Admin Console, the devices respond correctly, but their status still doesn't show up on the screen. No error messages appear on the screen or in any log file. The ISY itself is functioning normally -- timers, programs, etc., execute as they should. Stable setup, running for some years, large number of programs defined (and backedup) in the isy99. Running the last stable release. Just today, for some reason, I am no longer able to access the programs for editing. All else appears intact when I load the admin interface (did try the main UD java link as well), the variable, the devices, and the system appears to be functioning normally., I can watch the variables changing, as they should be. I added a second thermostat today and was fixing to add a third but wanted to get this resolved first. After I added it added the thermostat and three other devices also associated with it. When added the first of course it didn't do that, only added the one thermostat. How do I fix this? I'm on firmware 3.2.1 Thanks You can see the first four objects are what was added.

I did a brief search on "2413uh" and did not see this already asked, so forgive me if this is old stuff. I'm getting ready to take the plunge. Can I use a 2413UH with an ISY994i (instead of the 2412S) if I use a USB/Serial adapter cable ? I'd like to acquire the Houselinc software and compatibility with this purchase even though it might just be redundant to the ISY994i. The ISY bundle comes with a 2412S. By purchasing the PLM seperately and buying a 2413UH it would be about $20 bucks more, but I'd pick up the Houselinc software. Thanks in advance.

I'm having a problem accessing my ISY remotely from outside my home network. The problem just seemed to surface. I use a dns alias account and it is working fine as I am able to remote desktop in to my home computer from work. My ISY is https port 6700 and port fowarding is enabled on my router. When I attempt to access it remotely I get the error webpage on my browser. Thoughts?

I am trouble shooting a MobiLinc issue and part of that meant checking the port settings on my 2Wire (ATT) router. When I follow the directions in the Wiki it is recommended to check with an outside source for a guide to setting up the ports. However, it is recommended to open not only https port (443) but also port 80. Is it necessary to open both ports on the router to operate properly? One of the problems I'm having is that when I try to access my ISY remotely from a PC I cannot use https I have to use http which can't be right.

I just manually updated the ISY to the latest version and noticed one of my thermostats had adjusted to an economy mode due to the program below. How can I change this program such that it doesn't do this every time I update the software? Can someone explain to me how the combo switch/dimmer keypads work (6 and 8 button)? What does it mean that they have a dimmer? Can I dim with all the buttons or just one? How does it work? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I can't seem to find any good documentation.

I have ac powered (110v) smoke detectors. If one alarms, the other alarms as well (in other words they are using some protocol to com over the ac wires) Questions: 1) will this interfere w/ insteon 2) is it possible it is using insteon protocol i.e. could plm detect it? 3) if not, how would i be able to fire an event when the smoke detector alarms? p.s. Hi, I'm new to using the ISY-99i. I'd like to implement code to run programs. I'm wondering if there is any way to write the code in a text editor of my choice and then somehow import that code to create official 'programs' in the Universal Devices Administrative Console. I can see that you can copy a program to the clipboard. I think I just want to reverse that and 'paste'. Is there a post on how to do that? Thanks in advance

I am looking to purchase a EZIO40 to run my sprinkers. (only 2 stations) I did not see much in the Wiki or forums about this device. Does this device work well with ISY? What is the best way to link this device to ISY? Once the device is linked, do the 4 different contollers appear in ISY, or does it require special scripting/programming to use? (I'm a newbie and have not used any of the advanced programming/scripts as of yet) In addition, does the EZIO40 have a programable fail safe off time. (After x number of minutes, turn controller off, so sprinklers would not run all day, causing flooding) or would this be setup in ISY? Thanks Adam

I have an Elk M1 and ISY 994i/PLM and I am experiencing what I THINK is an issue with communication between the two (as seen in the image attached, ISY screen on top, event log on bottom). First off, there is nowhere to enter a security code that I can see, just the dropdown I highlighted (which is empty). Secondly, the even log shows what you see below. I believe they are trying to talk or else I wouldn't have even gotten this far. * I HAVE set it up to use 2101 to communicate unsecure with the Elk, and used the RP software to test this. I have a program which runs everyday to run an "evening On" scene which turns all my house lights on each evening. There are times when for example the chandelier in the dining room is already on at a brightness level greater than the "evening on" scene calls for because someone is in the dining room using the light. Howdy group, First post, first time breaking out of the basic light timers and decided to add some fun complexity to my life with a isy994! Trying to set my hallway lights (using 2476d and/or a remotelinc) to raise to 25% at night hours and 100% during the day. Idea is at night, turn on the lights without the blinding brightness into my kids rooms but help me make into the restroom at 2am in the morning and not kill myself with darkness . I've managed to hookup I1 & I2 to a dry contact device as per attached drawings, and the EZIO2X4 responds correctly. I think I understand that to hookup I3 & I4 to dry contact devices I need to install a 10k pull-up resistor between +5V terminal and I3 (I4) terminal. Then I connect the wire pair coming from dry contact device, between I3 (I4) terminal and Gnd terminal ? Does EZIO2X4 need to be reconfigured using SHH utility to enable this to work ? Hi, I have been thinking about getting the Insteon Thermostat but the reviews I read are not exactly favorable. I read a few about Venstar Thermostat but that doesnt sound perfect either - better than the insteon but not perfect. Is there any option that works well? Can you accurately have a program that is triggered by a change in the Venstar Thermostat? Any feedback would be welcomed. Thanks, Rich

I have 2 wires that leave my gas fireplace and go to a switch on the wall. The switch is not powered- it simply closes or opens the circuit mechanically to turn on or off the fireplace. There is not a load wire to the wall box. Is there a non powered (or battery powered) Insteon device that I could control via an ISY to remotely control / schedule turning the fireplace on or off?
