Hi, I have a doorbell on the front door but for some reason there is not a door bell on the back door. I was trying to figure what I could use as a doorbell option. Do i just get a wireless doorbell? Getting a wire to the back door is probably more work than its worth. Should I get a wireless doorbell for the back door? Is there something Insteon related I could do? I am debating putting a triggerlinc between my door bell and my ISY setup but it might not be needed. I currently have a driveway alarm and a triggerlinc wired into it, so not only do I hear an alarm, but I get emails. I dont know that I need another email for when the doorbell rings - …

I'd like to know if anybody knows if these 2 will communicate properly? I've got a 99i that I'd like to upgrade to a 994iZ if so. I've got a house full of the non-Z wave Honeywell thermostats and these would be a simple replacement with no re-learning required by the family. I have a number of Insteon programs in my 99i and hopefully I can now include control of the thermostats based on various conditions ?? I assume that programming mode now includes a "Z Wave" option in addition to "Insteon" for setting up actions or checking status ? Thanks for any help!

I've had a simple Insteon/ISY26 setup for about 5 years. Only a couple issues: I recently fried a dimmer when a bulb blew (talk about an annoying design flaw!). Also, I received a new thermostat controller in the recall. The ISY26 will query it but it won't drive it, and from what I've read it's likely due to the older (albeit current) 26 firmware. So I plan to update to an ISY 99. Everything is coming together for a system upgrade: we're putting a second floor on the house and completely revisiting the existing layout. Here's the gig...... My iphone....it's the TV/Cablebox remote. It has only about 6 buttons on the remote that match the 6 things I usually do. If I need full functionality I swipe over the remote. The remote flips over and shows all 621,239 buttons...just like your average remote. (grins...)..... So what is the best remote program for an iphone? I'd consider an android device if it has built-in IR and an easy to setup program that doesn't have a bazillion buttons on the remote that I never need. What are the best options? I have roomie and it's wonderful but still too many buttons.

Hi All, I am just trying this, never tried it before. What I am trying to do is get a single click to turn on the light 70% and double click 100%. So I did this in my bathroom where I set the ON rate at 70% in the device. Then test doing on, fast on and it works perfect from the ISY. When I go to the device the ISY reports that the device is on at 70% but it is outputting 100% and so is the device. The device I am trying this with is a 2477D v.40 What am I doing wrong? Devon

Is there a way to save the current state of a few devices to restore them to their original state later? Example - I may have my kitchen under-cabinet lights dimmed 40%, my den lights on, the hall lights off, and after doing a global all-off, I want to restore the kitchen under-cabinet lights back to 40% dim, the den lights back on, and the hall lights off if they were turned on after the global all-off. I've recently invested in Insteon during a kitchen remodel, and because I wanted to integrate my old X10 stuff better, ponied up for an ISY99i Pro w/ IR. I've just begun setting stuff up and am unable to find a good answer to an issue. My setup includes a Keypadlinc (KPL) in my kitchen. It is wired up to my ceiling lighting, button A. I've got a scene set up named "Kitchen Mood", which turns on a few lights, and also turns OFF a few, including the ceiling lights (I had a similar setup before introducing the ISY, and didn't run into the following issue). I’m not able to make my programs for my outside light garage working properly! I ‘have 3 programs: -Evening, I turn the light at 60% for a couple hours -When I leave, Garage doors open, to sunset at sunrise turn light on 100%, couple minutes -Motion sensor, when I arrive at the garage door to sunset at sunrise turn light 100%, couple minutes Both programs work well but doesn’t return at previously state, or disable other programs! Hi, I am new to ISY programming and this is my first attempt at a program. I have a light switch (Dual band dimmer) in one of the bedrooms and I would like the on level to be set to 30% between 8pm and 1 hour before sunrise when I hit the switch (essentially ignoring the local on level). I've figured out how to program the timing part. However, with my current program, when I hit the switch the lights turns on to the preset local on level (currently set at 60%), then the program executes and the brightness goes down to 30%. I’ve installed a flow sensor and am getting nuisance trips, probably due to air in the line or pressure fluctuations. I am attempting to write a program that will ignore the nuisance trips by having the ISY only react to signals sustained for more than 5 seconds. The programs are below (I change the input to a light switch for test purposes). Upon execution, when I turn kitchen light on, the program gets stuck at $Flowstate=1 and $Int_1=1. I'm going to try one of the new Led Dual Band bulbs in my daughters room. Being a teenager, she has a tendency to fall asleep at night with her light on. I installed one and set it up so it will go off at 11:00pm and then back on again at 7:00am the following day. She may on occasion actually shut the light off before going to sleep. Does operating the light switch mess up the operation of the bulb via the program. If she shuts it off with the light switch before 11:00 pm and doesn't switch it on until 8:00 am the next morning, will the light come on? I have the following program running to cycle my fan on my HVAC units. I am trying to figure out if I have an issue with signals not reaching the thermostats or my repeat function is being knocked out by IF becoming false. I'm having issues with the program not returning the fans to auto when 11:00pm hits if the program is in the middle of a cycle. Is this a programming issue (IF turning false during a repeat) or an issue with the communication?

I just came back from the house I am buying, I will need 8 Thermostats, 4 heat and 4 AC. Before I realized that I need 8, I was planning to go with the Nest. But at this point I would want to have more control. So please give best recommendations for Thermostats best compatible with ISY.

Coming from the X10 switches I was able to send an ALL OFF LIGHTS command to a certain address such as Address A. Is it possible with the Insteon Lights to send an ALL OFF command say to all lights? Or do we have to program this in one light at a time?? Also is there a way to make the lights flash on and off for a while if a certain command is received. In my case when the burglar alarm goes off it sends a certain X10 code, what I would like the ISY to do is if this code is received to flash on and off certain lights until the X10 off code for the alarm is received. Just swapped out my ISY99i with a new 994ir/pro. everything is working good except my Venstar t1800 thermostat. I have it linked can see it on the admin console can sent changes to it from my iPhone and directly from the Admin consol but am not able to get the changes made at the thermostat back to the ISY 994. All was working fine prior to the switch, (im pretty sure).... I have removed the T1800 from the controller and re-added it sever times. I am running v 3.2.6 and I have taken my remotelinc around the house, (themostat and beyond) and it works fine. Thoughts? Just got my ISY994i and a few new insteon modules (to add to my older modules) so I've been spending some time discovering all my devices, clearing them out, and resetting up my scenes using the ISY. Up until I tried to get my motion sensor to work, things were going pretty well. The symptom I'm having is that it doesn't seem that I'm ever getting an off command after the motion times out. I put the sensor into linking mode and added it to ISY. My Dip switches are all off expect for #5 which I bridged since it seemed that the instructions indicated it should be bridged if the sensor was controlled by automation software. I just got a new controLinc for my kitchen to replace the old one that would not control the switches linked to button 1. I added the controlinc to ISY and was surprised that it did not prompt me to press any butoons on the controlinc befor proceeding as I recall having to do in the past (I am using the most recent version of ISY firmware). After the new ControLinc was added, I right clicked on button one of the old ControLinc and selected and replaced it with the new ControLinc button 1. Again, I was not prompted to press any buttons on the ControLinc before proceeding. The replacement took much longer than normal and I got many strange messages during the proce…

I just installed my Elk M1 Gold, and started configuring my ISY 994i. I ran the admin tool as per the instructions, and when I hit "Start Linking" I get the screen attached. It doesn't give me any options, and it doesn't change the "Start Linking" icon to an (X) as the instructions say it should. It just stays on this screen, counting up to 100%, and then does it again. I have left it running overnight just to be sure it wasn't a timing thing, in the morning it was still doing the same thing. I have shut down the admin app and restarted it, still the dialog is there. Does anyone have any idea what be going on here? I can't even find anything on similar issues, let …
