  1. The [identical] shows up after clicking the Compare button. I assume it is comparing the table between the Keypad and the ISY. As far as why I have so many links for the KP I really can't say for sure. I do have a Master Off scene that I had to add in every single device as a responder so that when it turned off a light that it would also turn off the light on the switch. This took forever to create all the links for that. That KP only has two buttons to be the controller for two relays (bath fan and shower lights). But all 8 buttons are responders to the All Off scene which has two buttons (controllers) to activate that scene.
  2. Found it! Shut down my main computer, 3 laptops, printer, wireless router, server and the problem went away. The program ran like it should. Started to power each one up individually to see which ones might cause it to stop and got through everything fine until I turned back on my main computer (the one I'm using now) Now here is the strange part, I thought maybe it was the power line of the PC causing the problem but it's not. If I have the PC up and running but disconnect the Network line, the problem goes away. Now mind you the PC network cable plugs into the same switch that the ISY plugs into. I have already tried moving the ISY off the switch and directly onto the Router but it didn't seem to help. Any reason my PC NIC is too chatty? Thanks for all the help guys!
  3. oberkc, I will try the program out again but this time I will shut down any computers and other equipment to try and cancel any extra noices. Will post back in a little bit.
  4. Here is the result of those Links tables. Now some of this is starting to get beyond my knowledge. I do see the Keypad address (10.A3.C6) in the PLM table and I see the relay address (12.92.E6) in the Keypad table and that matches the ISY. And yes I did use the New Insteon Device to add the KPL to my ISY.
  5. When I had the event viewer up on LVL3, and hit the C button, nothing showed up in the event viewer window and both the 10.A3.C6.C & Master Bath Main Fan(relay) were showing off. But when I Query the Scene, then I got this in the Event viewer and the Relay then showed On but my C button still showed off. I did not rename any of my Keypad numbers, this is just how they were added.
  6. Well the Access Points were not on opposite legs and now they are but it still doesn't solve my comm problem. I'm gonna throw another wrench into this mystery. I have one other program that turns my front lights on from dusk to dawn and that one works perfectly. Would this indicate that my PLM is communicating fine?
  7. Guess I'm not sure what you mean "Did I assign the KPL name as the insteon address" I didn't rename the Keypad but I did rename the address's of my relays. I will have to double check if the access points are on opposite legs of the circuits.
  8. When I run the scene tests (E.G. office lights) if the lights are on and I run the test it does turn off the lights but the test comes back as all Failed.
  9. Ok, thanks oberkc for the diag information that was very helpful! Looks like I may have a communication issue that I did not know about. I tried the first step (event viewer) and after pressing the C button I did not get any new events showing. I then tried the Scene test and got this; My setup has two access points (one is right next to the PLM and the other is next to the Appliancelinc and they are approx 50-75 feet away from each other. I do not have any filters. Since this setup was first installed the only surge protectors I had were the small power stripe units that I have my TVs & Computers plugged into The PLM is not connected to a surge protector. I howere did just install a new Whole House surge protector yesterday. (http://www.smarthome.com/4860/Leviton-Whole-House-Surge-Suppressor-Surge-Protector-51120-1/p.aspx). I have tested the diag with it both turn on and turned off. I would assume that just turning off the breakers for the Leviton would be good enough and that I don't have to physically unwire it? LeeG, I am trying to create a program to run the circulator that when the program see's the C button turned on it will turn the circulator on for a certain amount of time and then turn it off.
  10. Well I think I figured out why my program doesn't work and also I tried Marks but that didn't work either (no fault of marks programming). I hit the keypad button which the fan turns on no problem but still no circulator. So I check the system via my ISY and find that the scene that controls my bath fan does not appear to be updating correctly. The C button is lit up but ISY doesn't show that it's on, yet it enables the bath fan relay just fine. Anyone know why ISY doesn't think the C button state is on?
  11. Sweet!
  12. Very nice! Too bad Youtube took down your video.
  13. Actually in reality the bath fan is on a relay. My whole house is setup with Insteon switches and is setup probably a little different than most and way over-kill thanks to a Master Electrician father in-law. None of the wall switches or keypads in the house actually control any lights or fans. We have another whole set of Relays and Dimmers in our mechanical room that control the actual loads. The house switches are just programmed to turn on/off these relays and dimmers. The 8 button keypad 2486DWH8 actually controls a Switchlinc relay 2476S that then actually controls the power to the fan. Like I said; over-kill.
  14. Nope because the only thing that button control is a bath fan and I don't think it's a good idea to try and dim down the fan. I would think that would shorten the life of it rather quickly.
  15. Mark, Just wanted to make sure you understood, we do not use the dim feature. We just tap the button to either turn the fan on or off. Thanks for the help!
  16. The fan button is on a 8 button keypad which does have the capability to dim but we know not to use it that way. This fan button only control the main bath fan (and hot water recirculator) so the only thing that would happen if the button was left on would be that fan constantly running which is fairly noticeable. Sadly my original programming did not want to function this morning which made for a cooler shower I'm not sure why, I tested it before hand and it kicked on the circulator but it wasn't running this morning. Guess I'll be switching over to marks program.
  17. Thank you Marksanctuary, The fan switch has it's own scene that turns on the bath fan and it's also included in my "Master All Off" scene. I like what you have there and may end up using that if what I have don't work right.
  18. Sorry I'm not big into programming. Most of my system is made entirely of scenes. I added in an ApplianceLinc to run a hot water recirculator when the bath fan is turn on and to only allow the circulator to run for a certain amount of time in case someone forgets to turn the fan off when their done. I can handle the fan being left on but the hot water circulator running will cause the hot water heater to run way too much. Could someone just look this over and tell me if they see any issues? So far from initial testings it seems like it will work. [/img]
  19. What if I'm still on 2.7.0, is there anything special I need to do or worry about besides just backing up my ISY? The notes only talk about upgrading from 2.7.8 through 2.7.10. Also, what do I need to do specifically to backup my programs? Last time I had a problem and tried to restore to a backup it did not restore my programs.
  20. Thanks Mike for doing some testing! Btw, how are you hooking up these devices to your UPM EM100?
  21. You may want to go re-read some of the early posts. It appears that there has been some attempt to answer this question, before we all hijacked the discussion. I reread the whole thread and still somewhat confused too. I was always under the impression that I was getting charged for all my insteon devices (which I have a lot of!) but does it matter how many of these are in a house? Sure 1 or 10 of these things isn't much to the power company but what if you have say 100 of these devices? That's a possible 700 (watts or VA (still little confused about which one it is)). Would that many make any difference? Sorry electricity is not my strong suit.
  22. No problem, just was curious and searching the site didn't reveal anything about it.
  23. What's the deal with the violin? Is this some kind of program/feature or are you actually talking about a real violin? Is this some kind of inside joke or what.
