Release 2.6.14 beta is now available
Brignolo replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Michel: Will do, I will report via email the results. That IS the closest one. I will change to a different station to see if the data comes up. Joe Ok, Reset the thermostat as instructed. It came back after a query. It was working fine before the upgrade as we use it extensively for our wood sotove heat distribution. Re-introducing to the network worked. The Climate page needed attention. If I were to select another station, the Info came up on the Climate page...not as much as before, but info was there. If I THEN re-selcted my original station info appeared, but again, not as much as before. Joe Now it is time to remove and relink all my motion sensors (again) and add the other 4 including the I/O Linc. Busy afternoon... Thank you Michel! -

Michel: No problem, that's why I didn't remove the thermostat...You may want to take a look at it. Also what is the issue with the weather info on the Climate page? Joe -

Mike: I tried your sequence a few times but no joy! Will probably remove and add the thermostat unless I hear otherwise from Michel. Joe -
Release 2.6.14 beta is now available

Upon updating to 2.6.14 I noticed that my thermostat in the device list had not reported its status. Clicking on the thermostat and doing a "Query" returned a "Request Failed." Trying to change ANY of its features resulted in an instant status bar showing "100%" and locking the system for 1-3 minutes then returning a "Request Failed" notice. "Restore Device" does nothing. My guess is that I'll have to remove then add back my thermostat, but before I do I thought I'd provide this info. Also on the Climate page, I used to have a list of the weather conditions, but not so much with this release. Joe P.S. Yes, I did close all browsers and cleared the Java Cache...twice. -
Release 2.6.13 beta is now available

I want to add 4 motion sensors and 1 I/O Linc. Will it be wise to wait until 2.6.14 to do this, and if so when might that release be? (No pressure.) Joe -

Roger, Doger! Hope it happens...FOR THE GOOD OF ALL! P.S. I don't recall if that data set was included in the I/O ERROR scroll. -

Michel: Been in San Diego as previously mentioned. No, only the Mem light blinks. The "I/O ERROR" repeating line occurred in the telnet session I launched while the ISY was in its Mem blinking state. NOT in the log. Joe -

It happened this morning for the first time and again just a few minutes ago: The Power and Rx lights are steady, the Mem light blinks ever second or so. If I close look at or relaunch the Administrative console. Everything APPEARS normal, but there is not any control over any of the devices, programs, or scenes. If I launch telnet, the second I log on I get a never-ending stream of I/O ERROR messages. None of the programs run while in this state. A manual reboot cures the problem, but what if I'm not home...(See the post @: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=2176 Any guesses? Joe -

Agreed. However, for the short term there is a work-around; use the up/down arrows on your keyboard to scroll the devices. It's a little cumbersome, but it will work until the issue is resolved. Joe -

Waiting mode: ON. Standing-by... continuing to wait... When I had my marketing communications company I used to tell my clients you can have it good, quick, or cheap. Pick two! We are getting our beta releases good and cheap! Joe P.S. I'm anxiously anticipating the release of 2.6.13 too! -

Eric: Thank you! That is exactly the information I needed. I'm sure my linking will go much faster now. Joe -
Release 2.6.12 beta is now available

Ok, we've gone through the On Levels, Ramp Rate issues, but here's one that I've noticed during the last 4 devices I have linked: If I link a LL, AL, or SL (not a Motion Sensor) it takes f o r e v e r. . . I go through 5 (count 'em) Initializing System status bars, for about an average time of about 8 minutes total. This didn't happen in the 2.6.8 (ish) releases. Now, I do have choices when I start a generic linking process: 1. Remove existing links 2. Add devices found in links and remove existing links 3. Add devices found in links and keep existing links I always choose #3. Mainly because it seems like the safest thing to do, and quite frankly, I'm not sure what each of these choices mean. My thoughts are that if I add the device I'm trying to link, I don't want to screw anything else up so I "Add devices found in links and KEEP existing links." Sounds reasonable to me. But that may be the reason it takes so long; it seems to look at all my devices which are more than 100. Can anyone shed any light on this? Joe -

I have an EZIO 2x4 which was linked during the 2.6.8 days. The 2.6.12 update seemed not to allow me to add it with the linking drop down menu as I could with the Motion Sensors. So I added it the old fashioned way and it seems that there is not full support of that device. Do the latter releases fully support the EZIO 2x4? Joe -
Frank: You need to relink the motion sensors to your ISY as you did originally. When you do, they become fully functional as well as adding some EXTRA opitons which will add some interesting features to them only available through your ISY. Joe

Gregg: I have been using my INSTEON enabled Venstar for more than 9 months and it has worked perfectly since the initial installation. Joe

The same conditions occured here. Update: I went to the program summary page, manually restarted the Thermostat Query, and everything was fine. Because my Thermostat Query goes from 12:00:00 to 11:59:59 the same day, this morning the Thermostat Query had restarted at 12:00:00 and the query is running fine. Now here's the catch. In the log, the value that is being report is 0, not the current temperature as before. There has not been any values for the humidity either. The only reported value is 0, since my upgrade to 2.6.10. Interestingly, that has been my SET value of my Thermostat (because we heat with a wood stove) since my upgrade. Could the ISY be reporting the wrong information to the log? The information on the thermostat device property page on the Admin Console is correct. Also: The new day brings the 1 second device query instead of the 4-5 min device query I (and others) were reporting yesterday. I did, however lose a Motion Sensor yesterday; it linked properly and the status reports correctly when pushing the set button on/off, but alas...it senses motion no more... Joe

Oh they're there alright: CLI-WBu Sun 12/07/2008 04:16:53 PM System -140005 ...Whatever THAT means... Joe

How do you go back to 1.6.10?
-
Are you able to change OL/RR for motion sensor controlled scenes? Yes.

Michel: Whew! I remembered the manual setting up of the router for the gmail (My router would not resolve the gmail dns so we put the numerical IP address for gmail and the email worked.) ...so I went into the telnet and put everything back to where it should be. Having done that, I was able to receive the module without issue. When it was time to choose a location, I had trouble with setting my location. The page which showed the various stations would flash up for less than a second then disappear. I would have to force quit the Administration Console. I chose a larger city near me and I was able to set a location. It was a little more than 13 miles from me but it will work. I would like to be able to get my weather station on Weather Bug to have access to very localized conditions. One more thing: I asked earlier, but you have been very busy today; do the options function for the motion sensors really do what the ISY says they can be set to? And if so, what scale are you using for light? Is it 0-100 on a linear scale? If so, I have some very sensitive light metering equipment (commercial photographer in a previous life) which would help me with ambient lighting in an important room. Joe P.S. I have upgraded to Java 1.6.0_11 and things seem to be a little slow when dealing the Admin Console. Also, with my router/ISY situation back to where it should be, I'm getting my email notifications.
-
Update: Although I can access my ISY from the outside, the "About" tells me the internet is disabled. The Telnet says that it is Enabled (by the Disable Internet command in the telnet.) If I try to Disable Internet (to enable it again) I get a "Cannot find Internet Gateway." Does this have something to do with my being unable to load the Weather Bug Module? Joe BTW...The relinking of all my Motion Sensors is very trying (I have MANY). Also, do all the options in the MS menu really work?
-
In the previous releases, when I Queried a device it would take only a few seconds. With 2.6.10 it takes about 5 minutes. It's almost as if it's querying the entire network, but the lights on the ISY are not flashing as it does on a network Query.

Michel: I purchased the Weather Module, and when I follow the instructions on the Manage Modules, after a few seconds the message "Request Failed" comes up. I tried restarting the Admin Console and clearing the Java Cache, but same message. Can you point me in the right direction. Joe
