  1. YES! That is what I meant. The way I consistantly reproduce the error is to unplug a device. Some of my devices (3 LampLincs) are plugged into a power strip. The power strip controls power to my model trains and, more often than not, is turned off. The LampLincs are used to dim the low-voltage lights on the train layout. But I have other devices that fail to communicate sometimes. It seems the PLM is not as reliable as the PLC, I was hitting over 99% with a PLC. The PLM is plugged into the same outlet that the PLC was. That is for a different thread, but it would be nice if the failed devices open a Device Communication Error requester. Thank you, Rand
  2. The trouble with Restore All Devices is that I always seem to have at least one unavailable Insteon device and the ISY then quits instead of skipping the bad device (it seems like it, at least). If I could restore by groups it would limit the traffic and be easier to recover from an error. Can you add that to your Request List
  3. I do have only 119 links in the PLM, right? I still have about 20 more links to add for my train lights and I plan on adding another ContrLinc or two, so another 20 or so links then. I might use some Insteon in the master bedroom but I don't see more than additional dozen devices being added to this home (about 30 installed now) so I doubt if I will double the number of links. What will I have to do if I exceed 255 links? A second ISY with another PLM? Or a second PLM with one ISY?

Awesome! It seems that when I Copy Scene Attributes that the devices are set correctly but the sliders are not updated. Even a device Query does not change the sliders. But it does set the switches! Changing the level and rate when the controller is also the responder (the device that has the load) requires resetting the switch by pulling the set button or unplugging the device for a few seconds. I can handle that as I am testing results anyway. So far, So Good! It's pretty scary, I am beginning to understand this ISY thing My daughter sent me a card that had a picture of a man sitting on an *** and notified me that it is okay to sit today so I am re-creating the groups I had on my PLC. HanG ON! Rand

Won't this limit me to the same light level from both switches? If I want a different level/rate for each switch I will have to do as sfhutchi suggests and create two scenes, right? Rand
  7. Is there a way to Restore a Scene, or does one have to Restore every device individually? Rand
  8. You are the ones to do this
  9. Good day Michel, Putting the floorplan on hold works for me. You know I already requested more branches. Floors, Rooms, etc. For the simpler interface you could use what you have built for UDMobile. Take out the Rename command, fix the Refresh command, maybe add a slider for level. Then it could be a small window that would be available on the Desktop or the Quickstart , like heatvent suggested. Thank you, Rand
  10. Rand, I see. So, when you click on an icon, you would get a pop up showing you the options you have for that device. Right? If so, that shouldn't be that difficult. And, may I ask what PocketPC brand you are using? Thanks so very much, Regards, Hello Michel! Yes, a menu and a popup. A popup on a double click. I don't like toggle on/off with a left click. A single left click might be used to query the device. I like the functionality of UDMobile, we will need a new thread for that You should make it available on your download page. I am using a Dell Axim X51V. Rand
  11. The FloorPlan would certainly be more useful if selecting a scene or a device allowed one to control that scene or device. I would like to use the floorplan more. I like HeatVent's idea for every user to have a common name (/password) and then be able to access the FloorPlan with only the ability to change levels and call scenes. The only menu item available now is Remove Location. It would be cool to see a window popup like the UDMobile. I just discovered that drag adding a scene to the floorplan makes a new room. That's a neat concept. I am going to need a bigger house! I appreciate the time and effort UDI is putting into this! Rand
