Why do dual band devices "flutter" than lock?
There is a link about which LED's have worked very well for members here in the forums. I personally have had great results with the Definity branded LED bulbs. No line noise, dims very low, no audible noise, unlike the Insteon Bulb Linc!

Having Issues Adding New Devices?
Hard reset the device two times and try to add it again. Are you on the latest 4.2.15 beta release on the ISY? Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Having Issues Adding New Devices?
Remove it from its location and bring it back to the PLM. Follow the linking process and ensure you press and hold the link button until it starts to flash and link it to the ISY. Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

ISY994iZ/IR PRO and Kwikset 910TRL Zigbee deadbolt
ETA is the end of this year. UDI will need to confirm the final release date as it's quite fluid given all their work on Z-Wave. Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Repair of 2413S PLM When the Power Supply Fails
If you hard reset the PLM 3-5 times and the problem persists. It's time to call it a day and if it's still under the two year warranty send it back. It's more than likely your PLM received a much larger voltage spike when one or more capacitors failed, taking out one of the IC chips. Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

ISY994iZ/IR PRO and Kwikset 910TRL Zigbee deadbolt
You can have only one or the other protocols: zigbee or zwave The current zigbee module you have currently supports thermostats and the energy module. This thread was about gaining support for zigbee locks which has since fallen in the cracks because zwave is the primary focus at the moment. I hope very much after 5.0 is released there will be development set aside to allow zigbee locks. Those who have zwave can already monitor energy. It can not interact with the GEM as it uses zigbee to interact and capture the energy readings. Once 5.0 is released it will allow two ISY Controllers to have two way communications which would allow you to have Zjgbee & zwave in one environment and tie them together. That is one hell of a expansive solution over supporting Zjgbee locks! [emoji35] Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Having Issues Adding New Devices?
I have one of the dryer couplers without the X10 booster and it works perfect. Not too sure why Smarthome decided to kill off that product since it worked perfectly and required nothing more than a plug & play affair. Regardless, OP you need to confirm proper coupling of the electrical feed in your home. Keeping in mind all the coupling in the world will not help you if the RF device is too far from a dual band receiver or if the signal is marginal. Dual band devices installed into a metal J box has less reception than a wall mounted plugin device like the AP. I personal always install one in each corner of the home, floor, zone, to ensure complete RF coverage. Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Failure rate for Insteon devices
LOL! You knew what I meant!

Failure rate for Insteon devices
Yes, that was one of the solutions Stu provided a few years ago for me. I believe sourcing the parts would be a lot cheaper via the Inter webs. But, if someone wants a buy, install, plug & play that is one very clean approach.

Failure rate for Insteon devices
Yes, Stu from the SH forum offered a similar solution which I have considered for a very long time. Since the Insteon Micro On / Off module came out I have simply considered using this device with a 240 VAC SSR instead. This would allow Insteon control and integration while offering bullet proof relay control of my HWT. Right now that project has been put on hold as the *Cost vs Reward* was near zero for me. Its a great convenience but does not save me any money in the long run having the ability to kill the power to the HWT. If I had a cottage / cabin that is something that would see real rewards in terms of energy consumption and user control.

Failure rate for Insteon devices
Hrmmm, the links seems to work fine for me? I was hoping to nudge UDI in that direction with their newly released relay device. Since they have indicated its only 10 amps it really does not service a much larger audience and really can't be considered for anything remotely commercial in nature. Most commercial products support at a minimum of 30 amps, and go up from there. I have never seen a commercial relay product support only 10 amps??

Failure rate for Insteon devices
From past experience there have been some periods where a few bad devices hit the shelves and into the customers hands. As you indicated SH has always been very good about warranty and replacements for said devices. Also offering cross shipping options to the customer. In my opinion there are only two devices I would never buy given the endless negative customer ratings: http://www.smarthome.com/insteon-2441zth-wireless-thermostat.html & http://www.smarthome.com/220v-240v-30-amp-insteon-load-controller-normally-open-relay-dual-band.html As you noted once you upgrade to the Z-Wave module you can let the ISY Controller control a combination of Insteon / Z-Wave products in your home.

Repair of 2413S PLM When the Power Supply Fails
I would hard reset the one flashing red / green. If it comes back up the same way it's safe to say something else was damaged when it died. The other one should be a solid green when powered up. What is the history of these two PLM's? [emoji4] Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

I'd like to "Relay" something to you....
I too am confused as Mike's initial post states its for the: I have a ISY-994 iZ Pro which already uses Port A for the 2413 PLM. So how does this new *Relay* get connected to the ISY?

I'd like to "Relay" something to you....
I was hoping it was a combination of RF, WiFi, Ethernet. Being wired directly to the ISY would prove challenging for many people I believe. Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

I'd like to "Relay" something to you....
Hello Mike, If this device has not been finalized I believe it needs to have a 30 amp relay instead. This will allow it to control more devices and have more flexibility in various environments and use case. ie. Hot Water Tank, Sump Pump,

Having Issues Adding New Devices?
You have a couple options for (long term reliability) upgrade your 2412, to the 2413 dual band PLM. Plug the On/Off module on the same circuit as the existing 2412 PLM and try again. If it adds into the ISY controller you can try to add the new RF devices you have on hand. Please keep in mind you should have installed your AP on one side of the electrical legs and the On/Off module to the other. Follow the coupling test outlined by the users manual to confirm proper bridging of the electrical system. Report Back.

Where can I buy the Z-Wave assembly kit if in Canada?
Just send them an email via sales and they will get you hooked up. Glad you stuck it out with the ISY Series Controller. You will have lots of flexibility with both hardware platforms. I am personally going to sit this Beta out until most of the bugs are sorted out. Also, waiting for v5.0 which will allow two way communications to two ISY controllers which will allow me to have both energy management and Insteon / Z-Wave. Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Where can I buy the Z-Wave assembly kit if in Canada?
First I am a little confused as I read you returned the ISY Series Controller last week?? Regardless, you can purchase the Z-Wave module directly from UDI. There is no need for a middle man and there is no other company that sells the upgrade kit at the current time.

Everything turned ON suddenly...
What does the physical sticker indicate this new PLM as? Also, what firmware does the ISY say it has in it?
