Thermostat ramp up program
hmmm Guess I can't test the temp in the "Then" section? I was thinking if I could check the temp and then add 2 degrees to it and run the heat for 10 minutes. Then check it again and see what the temp is and either raise the temp or make the system rest for 5 minutes to make sure the aux heat doesn't come on from it running for a while.

Thermostat ramp up program
Thanks. Brainstorming here. Any way for the program to see what the temp is in the house and change the setpoint accordingly? Drive time is about 3.5 hours so I have quite a bit of time if I start it when I leave home.

Thermostat ramp up program
Hey all, I have a lake house that has an insteon thermostat. I'd like to have a program that I can run manually by using my phone and MobiLinc to slowly raise the temperature in the winter. I set it back when we are gone and I will have internet access this winter so I thought it would be nice to let the temp come up while driving down. I want to do it slowly because it is a heat pump and if I just raise the temp to what I want, the electric backup could come on to get it there quicker. Unless the temp outside is pretty cold, I would rather just the heat pump do the work. Can anybody help me come up with a program? I really have no idea where to start on this one. Thanks

OutletLinc help
I went ahead and deleted it and added it back in by using the Start Linking. Last night it didn't work when I tries it that way. This time it worked and I can turn it on and off with MobileLinc so I am good to go. Not sure what you mean about the noise makers / suckers. Can you explain so I know for next time?

OutletLinc help
Hey all, I just got an OutletLinc 2473S to use in a protected outside wall outlet to control my landscape lights. How do I add it to my ISY99i? I tried doing it (and searching) but I can't turn it on using the admin console so I must have done something wrong. It does come on if I press the button on the outlet. So I want to delete it and install it again. I don't plan on a switch controlling it, just the ISY. Thanks Greg

ISY remote access
No PC that's why I got the ISY. I'll just have to do without for now.

ISY remote access
Yeah I can get a computer on the web using my Palm Pre as a mobile hot spot but that isn't my network. I don't think there is a way to use it on the network. Plus I would like to be able to dial into it on the way down to turn on the heat or a/c. I can get DSL but don't want to spend $60/month for that right now.

ISY remote access
I have a vacation home with no internet access. Is it possible to access the ISY remotely with just a phone line?

2420M help
The one motion sensor still acts the same. I have a second one and it goes to off after the 30 seconds. Now with the motion light being set at 5 minutes to be on, should I set the wireless motion sensor at 5 minutes also?

2420M help
I have upgraded to 2.8.10 and now have the 6 functions. Went real good especially considering I had to connect to the internet some using my phone and then to my home network some to actually update it. Currently On Only Mode and Night Mode are checked. Seems like Night Mode should be called something else since night only is when it is unchecked. lol Should I leave sensing mode unchecked?

2420M help
I went to the Help menu and then about and it shows v2.7.15. I just bought it and only have internet at the lake house from my phone so didn't look to see if there was a more current version. Guess I need to update my ISY since I only have 3 functions that are software controllable. Where do I go to download updates? I looked on their website but didn't see it.

2420M help
That Jumper is not in place. Only Jumper 5 is on. That is the only place to do that, correct?

2420M help
I installed jumper 5 and change the ISY to .5 minutes. Then with it off, I covered it with a placemat and then the sensor went to on. There is no way it saw movement. After 30 seconds it was still on. Now it's been 3 minutes and hasn't gone off. Am I doing something wrong?

2420M help
I have a 2420M and have added it to my ISY. When I move, I see the ISY state on the sensor change from off to on but I never see it go back to off. I have no jumpers in place and the options from the ISY are set at 1 minute, 10 for LED brightness, and darkness sensitivity at 35. Why does it never go back to off? It's pointed at a direction where I know there is no movement. I can even place it face down on the table. If I press the set button, I can go back to off. Please help me. I really want to use the motion sensor.

outside motion lights with wireless motion sensor
I have some outisde motion lights I got from Smarthome installed with an InLineLinc. I would like to use a Wireless Motion Sensor to extend the range and have purchased it. Am I better to set it up with a scene or to use a program? Also, what jumper settings would be best for this? Thanks

Do I need to Register 2443 Access Points in ISY/99i?
Thanks Lee. I'll check into those things next time I am down there, which is hopefully this weekend.

Do I need to Register 2443 Access Points in ISY/99i?
How long do the batteries usually last? I was down at the house this weekend and the sensor light would flash twice when it detected movement. The instructions say that is a low battery warning. Also, when I got down there on Friday my motion light kept coming on for no reason. I unlinked the wireless motion sensor on Saturday and that stopped it. I then added it to the ISY and tried setting up a program to monitor the motion sensor and turn on a light when movement was detected but couldn't get it to work. Is there a time frame after writing and saving a program before it starts working? I think I need to find more info on how to use the motion sensor and get some fresh batteries. At one time I had it linked to the motion light and it would come on as I came down the drive. With the light coming on a lot, it's like the wireless motion sensor was stuck on.

newby thermostat question
I'm thinking about going with the Venstar thermostat for my lake house. Even though I don't have internet to adjust it on the way down, I think I would like to be able to program it with the ISY. I did have a question. My system is a heat pump with auxilary electric heat. I currently have it running a couple times a day when I am not there and I think that is the problem. I'm thinking when it comes on, the temp difference is so great it is calling for the auxilary heat. When I set it up, I was thinking that would only come on when the heat pump couldn't get enough heat out of the air but now I think I was wrong. So my question is, could a program be written so when I get down there the heat comes on but with it set so as not to call the auxilary heat? Then as the temp starts to rise, the set point also rises so until it reaches say 68 degrees? I have a button on a KPL for when I am away so I could use that to let the system know I am there. I would have to use times too since at night I would want to set the temp back a bit. Thanks

Do I need to Register 2443 Access Points in ISY/99i?
Will it remember the link to the motion lights or will I have to recreate that scene? Just curious.

Do I need to Register 2443 Access Points in ISY/99i?
I did not. I thought it would find it because it was already linked to the InLineLinc. I'll get up in the tree and get the address to add it next time I am down there.

Do I need to Register 2443 Access Points in ISY/99i?
My understanding of this device is only conceptual, but I understand the in-linelinc is the only insteon device in this kit. The motion detector is hardwired to the inlinelinc, is it not? If so, there would be no insteon motion sensor showing up...only the inlinelinc, itself, would be displayed in your "my lighting" tree. I'm actually referring to another motion sensor that I bought to extend the range of the motion sensor light.
