I'm using 5.0.14. Email used to work a long time ago, and then it just stopped. Default doesn't work either. My email is @outlook.com. I have the following settings in: smtp.office365.com User ID - my email Password - my email password Port 587 TLS checked Timeout I've tried 1,000 and 5,000 Testing doesn't give an error, but I don't receive an email. It's not going to junk. Help?

Fixed... right click on each device, go to diagnostics - query insteon engine. Fixed all my problems. I did that to every device and now all is working again.

Nothing works.. changing LED brightness turns on my lights. Changing the on level.. changes the LED brightness. Just downgraded to 3.3.6 and it's doing it too. I was still on 3.1.17 and everything was working.

A few weeks ago there was a windows update that no longer allows 512 bit strength certificates in IE. Go into the admin console and issue a new certificate with 1024 or 2048 bit certificate. Fixes the issue, guaranteed.

How does the 'For 1 hour' work? Wouldn't that keep turning the fan on for 1 hour? What turns the fan off? Shouldn't it be like this: If $iMonth <= 9 And $iMonth >= 5 And Time is 3:30:00AM Then Set 'Cold Cellar Fan' On Wait 1 hour Set 'Cold Cellar Fan' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

How do I have a program run from May to Sept only? I just installed a 105cfm fan in my cold cellar, and want to run it at 3am for 1 hour every night, May-Sept only.

What firewall or anti-virus software are you running if any? I had this problem with ESET NOD32.. had to turn off HTTP filtering

Thanks, but I realize that. I was letting LeeG know that there are in fact issues with adding devices manually and selecting a specific device type from the pulldown.

No rain today data for Canada? Or is that just because you hadn't received any?

I recently added 2 switchlinc relays 2476S this way, and they showed up as v.00. Because of this, not all functions of the switch were available. I couldn't make them beep, or control the LED brightness. I deleted the devices and re-added through 'start linking' and the functions became available. Thus.. only manually add devices if you absolutely have to, like motion sensors.

Thanks, I know about the alternate legs on a panel as you go down the breakers, the two switchlincs are on odd numbered breakers going down the panel, eg 1st and 9th breakers, PLM is on 7th breaker. My small system responds 100%. Maybe it is the floor. It's 18" porcelain tile, which is on top of a mortar bed with wire mesh. I'll try the extension cord to reposition the PLM. Now, if I use an AP to couple the phases, it would need to be in RF range of the PLM.

I have read through a number of posts, and haven't seen a clear answer on this. Background first: I have ISY, new dual band PLM, two switchlinc relays on the same leg/phase as the PLM, and a motion sensor. The PLM is plugged into a ceiling mounted plug in the basement, so the face of the sensor is pointing down at the floor. Does this affect the RF range, or does it send/receive in a round ball propagating out from the PLM? In the current orientation, almost all RF would go through the back of the unit. Motion sensor - on the main floor, I'm finding it needs to be within 12 feet max of where the PLM is in the basement, in other words, almost directly above it. Otherwise, ISY doesn't receive any motion updates, and the motion LED flashes repeatedly after motion is sensed because it isn't receiving ACK back from the PLM. I want to mount the motion sensor outside, to sense darkness level to turn on my outside lights. This will obviously be out of range of the PLM. If I buy an access point, does the access point need to be in RF range of the PLM (which isn't far) in order for the system to work properly? I don't need it to bridge phases, my two switchlincs are on the same phase as the PLM. I would make sure the AP is plugged into the same phase as well. I'm thinking it will work this way: Motion sensor sends RF dusk signal, AP picks it up and converts it to powerline insteon signal, which the PLM picks up. What happens now? Does the PLM send ACK signal back through both RF and powerline, just powerline (because it got it from powerline), or just RF (because it knows it needs to go to motion sensor)?? If the ACK just goes back through RF, then I would need an AP plugged in within RF range of the PLM, which isn't far. If it sends it through powerline, then the AP will pick it up and repeat it through RF to the motion sensor. I'm just trying to figure what all will be on my next purchase. ?

It's the dropdown then. I used address, description and not autodetect - I selected the device type. I just did this with my 2420M motion sension (which is the only way to add it) and it too shows up as v.00

Turns out I do have switchlincs with beep feature. My switchlincs were showing up as v.00, because I manually added them, by entering the device addresses, and picking 2476S switchlinc from the dropdown menu. That seems to be the problem. I deleted the devices, and added them back through 'start linking' instead, and pressing their set buttons. They now show up as v.3A, and the LED brightness button has appeared when I click on the device in the admin console. So, as a warning, if you add manually by entering the device address, you may not have the device added correctly. It could be because I chose the device type from the dropdown, I may have been ok to enter the device address and leave the device type as autodetect.

Changing NOD32 to not filter HTTP at all seems to have fixed the status problem. I removed one device at a time, factory reset, and re-added it through 'start linking', fixed up the scene and programs, and the switchlincs now show up as v.3A, and I now have an LED Brightness button to control the leds on the side of the switches. All problems solved. Thanks.

Will do. I have logged in about 20 times here from work, and the status shows perfectly every time. Maybe that is it. The only time I have had the status not show, is with my home laptop, both locally and remote.
-
I didn't auto detect. I clicked 'add insteon device' and manually entered the device address, and also picked the device type from the dropdown menu. Dual band PLM. No access point. The PLM, and two switchlincs are on the same electrical leg. Works 100% every time. Even when I am in the admin console, and the status of both devices shows nothing (instead of showing on or off), if I click the button at the bottom to send an on or off, the device responds every time, but still no status. Query doesn't make a status appear either. If I close out of the ISY, and log back in 5 mins later, sometimes the status shows, sometimes it doesn't.

Regular page: accessed by entering just ISY IP Admin console: accessed by entering IP/admin Running latest firmware 2.8.10 My entire system right now is just the ISY, PLM, and two switchlinc relays. Starting small, as a fun project/Christmas present. If I remove the two devices, I will have no devices, and might as well just start over. I only have 5 small programs written to control my front outside lights.
-
When I log in to the regular page of the ISY, my two switchlinc relays show their status correctly (on/off). However, when in the admin console, the status window is blank 50% of the time. My computer is running Windows 7 64-bit, with NOD32 antivirus. I have added both the internal ISY static IP (192.168.1.107) to the http exclusions in NOD32, and my static external IP. Should I turn off HTTP filtering completely? When in the console, both switchlincs show up as V.00. They were purchased in December, so they should be the newest versions. When I added them to the ISY, I did it the manual way, by entering their addresses, and I selected 2476S Swithlinc Relay from the drop down, instead of auto detecting. If V.00 isn't correct, perhaps I should delete the devices and relink them? If I delete them and relink them, does that delete any scenes and programs they are a part of?

When I hold the set button for 3 seconds, the switch beeps. Is that what you mean?
-
I can set the LED brightness on my two switchlinc relays the manual way (hold the set button until it beeps x3, paddle to dim, set again). How do I set it via the ISY admin page? Where should I be seeing the buttons? I'm running 2.8.10 firmware. Also, when I manually set the brightness it acts funny. If I have it set to full LED brightness, and I have the controlled load turned on, when I hold the paddle down to set the LED brightness, the LED brightness immediately goes to about 50%, then as I continue to hold the brightness dims even more, until the LED turns off, at which point so does the load! It this correct? Both of my switchlincs do this. They are brand new, bought them in December.

Thanks, I don't intend to add the 'if status off' line, I was just trying to expand my knowledge of the programming. From reading on here, the last thing you said makes sense, it seems better to have separate programs for on and off (if you have an and/or in your if statement), and not use the else because it likes to run every time the program is re-evaluated as false.
-
So.. if I had changed it to the following: If From Sunset To 11:00:00PM (same day) And Status Scene 'Front Outside Lights' is Off Then Set Scene 'Front Outside Lights' On Else Set Scene 'Front Outside Lights' Off Would it be re-evaluated if someone turned off the lights between sunset and 11pm? Eg, time is 9pm, lights are on. Someone manually turns the lights off. Status changes to off, if statement is re-evaluated, sees that it is true, and turns the lights on? If that is the case, would this also happen: If someone turned on the lights manually before sunset, and then at sunset the if statement would be re-evaluated, but would be false, so the lights would turn off, because of the Else statement?

I'm new here, and new to Insteon/ISY. Bought myself an ISY99 IR Pro, PLM, two switchlinc relays and motion sensor for Christmas. Bought it all as a project to get started into home automation. I have one switchlinc controlling the outside pot lights on the lower level, and the 2nd switchlinc controlling the outside pot lights on the 2nd level of my house. I used the ISY to create a scene with both switchlincs as controllers, so when either is toggled manually, both lower and upper pot lights turn on/off. I plan on using the motion sensor for light level sensing to turn on the lights according to light level, instead of sunset. Haven't set it up yet, been away from home. Anyways, for now I created a program to turn the lights on at sunset, and off at 11pm: If From Sunset To 11:00:00PM (same day) Then Set Scene 'Front Outside Lights' On Else Set Scene 'Front Outside Lights' Off Now.. what if someone turns the lights on manually earlier? Is it bad sending an 'on' command to the switchlincs if they are already on? Should I add to the if: And Status Scene 'Front Outside Lights' is Off or doesn't it really matter? Thanks, Mike
