Thank you for the explanation. Questions- Isn't "fast on" and double-tapping the upper dimming switch equivalent? Do you suggest instant ramp rate just so you get a faster dimming/bright response?
-
I'd like to make a scene by double-clicking a button or dimmer-- should this be possible with ISY? Or is it an Insteon logic limitation? My wife doesn't like to push a dimmer twice to get full brightness (I have on-level [applied locally] set to 20%, so we have to push twice to get to full brightness. She wants to push once for full brightness (default), and twice to get to dim level. That requires a program for every switch in the house-- Why can't we get a scene to do that? Thanks

Ah yes, live and learn. Would be nice for the ISY to state "delete ISY PLM" instead of just "delete PLM" since there is no documentation explaining that (that I'm aware of). On to deleting all my 100 or so devices...
-
Yup that's it. I deleted one of the keypadlincs, relinked it, and all buttons now provide status. I will delete my devices one by one and rebuild scenes.
-
Right, I did one per group, and have 3 groups.
-
I did a restore from backup after I deleted the PLM, but I suspect I have to delete all devices and scenes from scratch. Argh, that's about a day's work to rebuild everything...
-
Lee, I remember a while ago I deleted the PLM, thinking it was a bad EZIO PLM. I did a restore; but I suspect that screwed everything up though. How do I go about repairing this?
-
No joy. Factory reset, restore PLM still fails at 1%. I emailed you the event log. Could it be a bug in 3.1.12?
-
Nope, fails at 1% every time, even after power cycling. Should I do a factory reset on the ISY's PLM?
-
BTW I get an accurate reading of all switches when I do a manual right-click query. It seems none of my switches are sending status unless I have them linked to something via ISY. I am on latest beta.

I got an error trying to restore PLM that it couldn't talk to one of my switches, so it crashed out. I relinked the switch (which is in the middle of a BUNCH of switches, so it's plenty close), tried another restore PLM, but the window closed immediately-- I can't finish a PLM restore?

You buy one of these: http://www.automatedshadestore.com/shop ... id448.html It connects to the powerrise via connector. It has dry contacts for the EZIO. I just installed mine and works perfectly. Note you need one relay for up, another relay for down. This is a Hunter Douglas part. Starmanj

I compared the keypadlinc device link table to the ISY tables and all is fine. Still I get no state change in buttons b,c,e,f,g,h which haven not been linked to a responder via ISY. So if I just push button "B", and it lights up, even though it has no assigned function, the admin console should show current state "on" vs. "off"?
-
In fact this is true for all of my keypadlincs around the house--
-
Lee- The buttons I placed into a control scene show up correctly, but all the buttons outside a scene show no state change. Should I re-link the switch to the ISY?

I am setting a simple program to toggle an EZIO8SA relay for one second. I have one of my 8-button keypadlinc buttons, when set to "on", trigger the relay for a second then turns it off. Currently the button isn't linked to anything. This setup only works if the button is "linked" to something. Why can't I create a program for an unlinked button? Thanks! Starmanj

Wow just saw your hack, brilliant. I have the exact same hunter douglas power rises. However, my approach was different: I installed a dry-contact interface to every shade and home-ran a wire pair into my basement from each window. From there, just hooked the wires into the EZIO8SA.

Good idea-- how do I option a mutually exclusive relationship? I thought two controllers in one scene was an automatic exclusive relationship--
-
Good idea. But when I change on level to 0, how do I save it? It loses the setting as soon as I leave that device.
-
I just purchased it but it still doesn't show up. I have latest non-beta firmware 2.8.16; it says I need 3.14-- so I need to install beta firmware?

LeeG- Thanks. I think two scenes are probably the easiest scenario. The main on/off buttons only control the one load they are attached to, but we want to turn on/off all 6 load lights simultaneously. If we use the on/off buttons to scene control everything, then we can't individually control the load light for the on/off buttons. Or we could just use the scene as I currently have it, and ignore the funny keypad light behavior, because it seems to work--! Starmanj

So is this okay? I have two 6-button keypads on either side of the bathroom. I want the "a" button to turn lights on, and "b" to turn lights off. I set each to toggle-on and toggle-off respectively. It works, but strangely-- both "a" and "b" keypad lights stay on at the same time, until I hit "b" then all keypad lights turn off as well as all load lights.
-
Oh, you must mean the 8-button Main-A.
-
Is "Main-A" the same as the "a" button (a,b,c,d) for the 6-button keypad? Or is that the ".1" button?
-
Follow- up question: I have a 6-button keypad. The buttons labeled "on" and "off" seem hardwired to the load of the switch, whereas a,b,c,d are programmable. Can I re-program the "on" and "off" to another function, and use "a" and "b" to turn the load on and off? Starmanj
