Right now, the duration on Momentary B is set to 2 seconds and it seems to work. I also ordered one of those SECO-LARM NC switches. Thanks.

Xathros, Again, thanks for the quick reply. OK I've changed the Sensor to Momentary B and I now get On for closed and Off for open. Where do you get a NC switch to replace the NO switch?
-
And this is the status of my Sensor as seen from the Options display. See the attached file. It's in a Latched mode. Should it be in Momentary A, B, or C? If so, which?

Xathros, thanks for the quick reply. I thought I'd be able to test to see if the door is open or not but based on the status always showing ON, I don't think I can do that, can I?

I just got the INSTEON Garage Door Control Kit and I have a couple questions. 1. Adding this to my ISY994 added 2 devices: Garage Door-Relay and Garage Door-Sensor. I assume that is expected. 2. The Garage Door-Relay device stays in the On state and to operate the door, I have to send on OFF command followed by an ON command. Is that expected? 3. I made a simple program to do the OFF and ON sequence in #2 but is this the way this is supposed to operate? Thanks.

No ballasts or transformers. I reset the APs and things seem to be working so far. Is it correct to say I don't really need APs if I now have dual band devices working on both legs of my electrical service? Do they serve the same purpose as the APs? Do APs do anything that dual band devices do not? Thanks.

Never heard of that one. I'll look that up. Also, do you have to add APs in pairs? Does it make sense to add a 3rd AP at a point in the house that is not close to either of the 1st two?

They're not all on the same circuit and yes, I have access points for each side.
-
it's all of them I'm afraid.

My new ISY994i seems to be working... most of the time. But I am finding that I have some programs that say they ran but the actions are not taken. For example, I have a program that turns off my outdoor lights in the morning at sunrise. Here is a portion of my log file: Front Door Lights Fast Off Thu 2013/12/12 08:13:29 AM Program Log Scene:Christmas Outdoors Off 0 Thu 2013/12/12 08:13:29 AM Program Log RL UP - 6 Status 0% Thu 2013/12/12 08:17:45 AM System Log Shed Lights Status 0% Thu 2013/12/12 08:17:45 AM System Log Garage Lights Status 0% Thu 2013/12/12 08:17:45 AM System Log Outdoor1 Status 0% Thu 2013/12/12 08:17:45 AM System Log Outdoor2 Status 0% Thu 2013/12/12 08:17:45 AM System Log Shed Plug Status 0% Thu 2013/12/12 08:17:45 AM System Log Island Plug Status 0% Thu 2013/12/12 08:17:45 AM System Log It looks like it should have shut all the lights off but it didn't. I am wondering if the time delta from Scene off at 8:13 to the first device action time of 8:17 is any clue. This is completely intermittent unfortunately. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't which makes debugging next to impossible I realize. Any suggestions?

Perfect! Thanks. It was not obvious that I could expand the window. Once I put in the longitude with the latitude, the sunrise/sunset times line up. Thanks again!

I just upgraded to an ISY994 and I want to set a custom location to get accurate sunset/sunrise times. I live in Grand Rapids, MI (west Michigan) and Detroit is the only option in the database. I chose Custom Location and it looks like I can only enter a Latitude which I did. The Latitude for Grand Rapids is 42.9612 deg N. I entered that and sunset/sunrise times are off by about 10 minutes. Do I just play with the Latitude until I get accurate times or is there a better method?

Thanks but the fix there did help. This is a Safari issue only. The backup works in Firefox so I'm covered till this gets fixed.

That resolved that error message. Thanks. Now I can't backup my config. I'll search the forum and enter a new thread if I can't find anything.

Not sure what my entry would be. Any idea how to figure that out?

I am running OSX Maverick on my iMac with Java 7 update 45 and get the error Couldn't Resolve Localhost. On Mac: fix /private/etc/hosts file I have tried uninstalling Java and re-installing but still have the error when I start the Admin console. This is preventing me from backing up my ISY configuration. I did look at other posts on this and it seems to have come up before. I looked at a post that said to edit the hosts file but it was not clear what it was I was to add. Can anyone help with this error?

What is the purpose of the variable? It doesn't appear that you ever test it. Thanks.

Thank you!

I have 3 2420 Motion Sensors all running on battery and I'd like an email when the low battery indicator comes on. What is the best method to make this happen? Thanks for the help.

I am back online. I am throwing away the old 1GB SD card that came with the ISY. I restored from my Oct backup so I lost a few devices and some program changes but I think I have it back now. I did a backup and this one worked fine. Not sure what happened to the original SD card but I suppose you never know.
-
I just went out and bought a 16GB SD card. If reloading from my last backup is risky, what do you suggest? What are the risks?
-
Michael, If I'm willing to use my last good backup which was unfortunately back in October, can I do a factory reset with the SD card it came with, i.e. the one that is now corrupt, and be able to restore that way? If so, what is the factory default admin id and pw? Thanks.

The SD card that was in my ISY-99i is made by SanDisk but it just says Adapter on it. There is no size on the card. I have a 32GB card from my video camera I can use but I think I read where 16GB is the max the device will support. Anyway, I put it in and tried to Telnet to the device per the instructions you referenced and it says "Connection refused". What do I do now?
