  1. So if I went through all the steps on my router and filled out the necessary things in the setup on the ISY software, I'm all set? What about email notification? Do I need to set up a forwarding rule for SMTP? So I would use https://xx.xx.xxx.xxx (do I need the port number? 443?)
  2. I have been fussing over this for some time. I have tried the wiki page instructions to no avail. I have a Verizon FIOS Actiontec MI424WR router. I have enabled port forwarding for 443 and 80 for the static IP address for the ISY. I tried to create and install a self-signed certificate and I thought it worked, it says it will reboot the ISY, but don't know if it actually works. When I click 'Enable Internet access' under the 'file' menu it always fails.
  3. Bought the kit from Smarthome. Came with the wireless O/C sensor module and sensor for in the sump. Tried linking to my ISY but the ISY does not see it. I have multiple Dual-band dimmers in my house so I would think that they would see the wireless device when I tried to start linking in the ISY. Am I missing something? This is the first time I've tried to link a purely wireless device to the ISY(other than a keypad).
  4. ESET NOD32 It used to work then stopped working. Hmmmmm. I'll try disabling the firewall and see what happens.
  5. Thanks, I'll try the router setup. I still cannot get the ISY to respond to me from my laptop. I can get it to respond and log into it successfully from my desktop but not through my laptop. I have deleted Java and reinstalled it. I have dumped the Java cache clearing all items possible but still cannot connect to the ISY from the laptop. The java app starts but I never get a login prompt. What other ideas to do others have?
  6. Now, how do I configure my Verizon FIOS router to let me access the ISY remotely? I'm all over the wiki and cannot find the answer. I telneted into the ISY, connected and sent the EI command. It responded that "Could not configure the gateway."
  7. I did the Java cache clearing but still no joy. Came in through the IP address and opened the admin console successfully. So now the question is why I cannot get there directly....
  8. I got an "not found" message.
  9. How do I clear the java cache? I'm using Win 7. Verizon did replace my router. Do I need to do anything to the new router?
  10. I cannot log into my ISY today. It doesn't respond to the software when I start it nor when I click login. I have power cycled the ISY several times. The network lights are flashing on the jack on the back and when I power it it seems to do a normal startup ending up with one blue light. I need to do some linking and programming and am getting frustrated! Help, please. To clarify, I cannot get Admin Console to give me a login screen. I've restarted it many times. The shell loads but no logon dialog box.
  11. I can log into my ISY from my XP PC but I cannot get the login prompt from my Windows 7 laptop. I get the java app to start but I can't get the login prompt.
  12. I don't know how to paste code from the ISY but I did a program like this this. I set the 'else' to set the scene I created 'on' but it doesn't seem to work. I also set the button to toggle mode 'off' only. Still doesn't work.
  13. I want the light to be 'on' if any of the basement lights are on and then turn them off if pressed.
  14. I am going to revive this thread. I have 4 basement switches that I want to monitor to see if they are on, and any are on, light a button on an 8KP. If the button is lit (and lights are on) I want that button to both turn off the lights and deilluminate the button. I found the programs in this thread and I see how these would light or delight the button but to actually turn all of the lights off should I make a scene with all the lights off and have the program invoke that scene when pushed?
  15. It is not a program. It is a scene. In the scene there are 5 modules. 4 are set to 0 brightness and the 5th is set to 85%. The zero brightness part works but he 85% one does not.
  16. So...then why doesn't the scene that contains my hallway dimmer set to 88% light at all? Currently it turns off all of the lights but does not turn on the hallway?
  17. MobiLinc v3.03.00
  18. Yes, I can see the status and control it through the ISY. When I turn the scene 'on' it promptly turns off the hallway light. Among the many things I don't seem to understand is the use of scenes versus programs. For example, I have a program that looks at the status of the garage door sensor and if it is up then at 11PM it triggers it to go down. This is in distinction with the "leave living room" scene which simply has the living room and office lights to zero with 0.5 sec ramp and the downstairs hallway light to 88% on with the same ramp. I would think that this would simply do those things. Should I be creating programs that test for a module's status and act on that? I have a need for a similar scene from my upstairs 6KP. I want a 'goodnight' scene that turnoff off all lights downstairs, the porch light and upstairs light. I want it to always do that, turn off those lights but it sometimes needs to turn all lights on then to turn them off. In the Mobilinc Pro app some scenes activate immediately when I tap their name in the app and others seem to need to be turned 'on.' So some trigger when I tap the icon on the scene and others open the scene and i have to press on. I can't figure out why. BTW, it is not my favorite app interface but it seems to be what there is available.
  19. I have created a scene that includes the lights in my living room, the adjacent office and the entry hallway. It is "leave living room" scene to turn off the lights in the living room and wife's office and turn on the hallway lights. It turns the lights off but does not turn the hallway on. I have deleted the scene and rebuilt it with the same result. The hallway light is the top dimmer on the list and I would think that it would work first.

  21. What would send the x10 signal for the sounder? I would have to have another I/O link trigger some other sort of sounder.
  22. I set the I/O link to momentary relay without problems. I made a program that runs daily at 11PM. If the sensor state = door up then the I/O link will be triggered to close the door. Do I need an 'else? The only else would be the door is already down and in that instance the sensor will=on and nothing should happen, right? i know that the I/O link can make sound but can I control that sound as a warning that the door is about to close? On the old X10 Universal Module there was a real sounder that beeped prior to the door coming down.
  23. Bought the kit from them. They don't tell you how to make it work with the ISY. I used to have HomeSeer running my X10 system and at 11PM it would check the status of the door and if it is was up, it would trigger the door to come down. That is the function that I 'm looking for. I'll check out the manual to set the I/O linc to momentary trigger.
  24. I have now changed over from X10 to Inseton. I used to have a Powerflash and Universal module set up in the garage to monitor the door state (up/down) and trigger the door closer (and beep when it did). Now with Insteon I have the I/O link and switch from Smarthome. All is hooked up and what functionality I'd love would be to have the ISY know if the door is up or down and if it is up at a certain time, put it down. What I noticed was that the I/O link didn't have a momentary closed relay like the X10 setup so you have to tell it to turn 'on' and then 'off' again in order to be able to trigger the door again. So, how do I do this via the ISY? I have figured out that there is no module that sounds a beep like the old universal module did so I'll have to come up with some other noise maker to warn that the door is closing. So recap, at a given time I need to know if the door is up or down and if it is up I need to trigger the door closer to close.
