I just migrated to EISY and knew I would lose my IR capabilities, but thought I could find another way to accomplish the few tasks I used IR for. I had the following ISY994i IR programs set up to control lighting during Movie Time using my Harmony Remote: Movie Play - when I long press "PLAY" button on my Harmony Remote, I had most house Insteon Lights turn off. Movie Pause - when I long press "PAUSE" on my Harmony Remote, I had certain light come on and dim. Movie End - long press "STOP", had some lights come back on. I installed the Harmony Node Server, but after reading posts here, realize this Node Server most likely will not accomplish the above tasks. Will the Flirc IR USB device be able to accomplish the above tasks? I read I could set up my ISY994i IR to use for IR, but then how do I get ISY994i to communicate with EISY? Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.

I will check to see if everything is up to date. My Harmony goal for now, is to figure out IF OR HOW to replace a few of my IR functions that I had set up with the old ISY99i IR. Example: when I watch a movie, press "play" on Harmony and living room lights go out, hit pause or stop, lights turn back on. I will check out the Harmony section and see what I can find out. Once again, I appreciate the assistance and information.

5.7.0 6 button presses was not turning led red at all, led stayed solid blue (so I don't think it was rebooting or power cycling). Now that I have pulled the power cord from the EISY, it forced a complete power cycle, all seems to be working as it should. Thanks!

After pressing the power button 6 times, the LED never went red, so I waited and pressed 6 times again, LED never went red, so I unplugged power cord, waited a minute or so and plugged back in. Should the LED have turned RED after the 6 presses of the button? So now I see my Harmony Hubs and have no clue what to do with them LOL. Is there a "Polyglot for Dummies" book? 🤣 Thanks again.

Okay, thank you, I will try that now. I previously only performed a reboot from inside Admin Console.

Microsoft Surface Windows, HP PC Windows. I tried Firefox and Edge. I have Nord VPN but is disabled, ad blocker disabled. I do have PC Matic. Not sure what a V-Lan is, I have an Archer AX11000 WiFi Router and I have the EISY wired to directly to the Archer.

Thank you for the quick responses! My IoX firmware is 5.7.0 as is Admin Console 5.7.0. Yes, I do reach the PG3 login page in browser (I've tried several computers, laptops and several different browsers). I've launched the PG3 page from inside Admin Console and tried from the IoX finder. Each time I receive a red pop up screen with an error, like others mentioned in another post. I have checked inside Admin Console and indicates portal is online, registered, etc. I also migrated my portal license to the new EISY and deleted my old ISY.

I recently migrated to EISY. I knew it wouldn't be easy for me as I'm not an expert and quite a bit older since purchasing my first ISY in 2011. I do however like a challenge and have my entire home automated, every light switch, garage doors, gate, fireplace, audio, media devices, some colored lights, cameras. What ISY didn't do for me, the harmony hubs, bonds, IR, bluetooth, etc have done and all integrated into Alexa working nicely. So my goal with EISY, is to integrate my harmony hubs, bond hub, cameras, etc into the new EISY so I can create new programming there instead of relying on Alexa routines. I knew I would lose the IR control with EISY, but thought having the harmony hubs in EISY would eliminate the need for the IR function. After spending a few days repairing all my ZWave locks, motions, programs, etc. I am now ready for PG3 and adding "node servers". I have not been able to login to Polyglot 3x on any of my computers or laptops. I have tried all the fixes from wiki and previous forum posts, updates, resetting passwords, reboots, logging into portal at same time, etc, but still cannot login to Polyglot 3x. I am however able to access the Polyglot store (I think?) from my Iphone (UD Mobile), I obtained license for free trial of Harmony and was able to set it up as Node Server 1 in Admin Console, but I can't get any farther than that (no nodes show up for harmony in admin console and I did go into harmony app to enable a setting that was required). So, question is, is this as far as I can go without being able to login to Polyglot 3x? Is logging into Polyglot 3x, the only way to get all this new stuff (node servers) working? I appreciate help and/or suggestions.

I used to have Alexa simply tell me my Insteon (Venstar) Thermostat's indoor temperature, when I wanted to know the temperature inside the house. I've since changed my AC system and had to change this thermostat to a Carrier Infinity Thermostat (which currently the Alexa skill(s) are not working and Carrier does not know when skills will be fixed). I have an Aeotec Multisensor 6 which shows me the temperature and humidity in the Admin Console and UD Mobile. I've added this device to the ISY Portal, but Alexa does not seem to recognize this device as a temperature device. Is there anyway to incorporate this device through the portal into Alexa to simply have her read the temperature from this module? Thanks for any advice on how to accomplish this, or any recommendations on a simple device to incorporate into the home so Alexa can simply tell me indoor temperature.

Okay, thank you.

I cannot find what board it is in Admin Console or website. In Admin Console the ZWave version is 6.82.01. The model is ISY994i ZW+/IR PRO - ZWave Plus Certified, purchased May 2021.

Both are 5.3.0

I have recently purchased several HomeSeer ZWave Sensors, which seem to all work great. The Flex Sensor has a temperature sensor and shows temperature in Celsius in Admin Console. If I do a query on it, it changes to Fahrenheit, but then quickly changes back to Celsius. I contacted HomeSeer support to see if there was a parameter I could change that would keep it at Fahrenheit and they said no and suggested I contact UD. So does anyone know how I can change this sensor to always read in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius in Admin Console? I have a thermostat and it always reads in Fahrenheit in the Admin Console. Thanks for any suggestions.

Possibly there are versions that do default to off? But my Insteon Appliancelinc does not automatically default to off when power is restored, as I tested it, along with a Leviton Zwave Plug In Module this morning. The Insteon defaulted to it's previous state, while the Zwave always defaulted to off. That was the reason for my original post to try to understand why. After Teken's explanation above, I have a better understanding, and was able to choose which device is better suited for my particular application ?
-
So then the Leviton Zwave device I just purchased would be the "safer" device to use for the coffee pot, as it always defaults to OFF when power is restored. Just inconvenient when you have power interruptions often. But then another question: Why do the Insteon LED Bulbs not "remember" their OFF status prior to power interruptions? This is not a safety concern, just a pain when the bulbs go ON after power interruptions that occur during the night.
-
Okay thanks for quick response. I have more Zwave devices arriving this week. I did test the plug in module in an outlet less than 2 feet from the ISY unit. I can control on, off, query successfully from the Admin Console, module responds quickly. When I manually remove module from the outlet in the ON position and insert back in, everytime it defaults back to OFF position. Admin Console's status on this module still indicates ON. I then performed a query and Admin Console updates to OFF. The Zwave module does not seem to remember it's status when removed from outlet and in comparison the Insteon module does?

I just upgraded my ISY994i to Zwave and have added my first Zwave device, a simple Leviton Plug in Module. I included it in my coffee pot scene and programs, so it is now turning my coffee pot on and off just like my previous Insteon ApplianceLinc did. I noticed this morning, after a short power outage, that my coffee pot was off. When the power was restored, the Leviton Plug Module powered back up in the OFF position, while the Admin Console still showed the device's status as ON (My ISY is on backup power, so does not go off with short power outages). In comparison, the Insteon ApplianceLinc, after a power outage, would power back up in the ON position (or whatever state it was in prior to power outage). My question is, do all Zwave devices work like this? Or is there a setting I can change to have device come back on in whatever state ISY has it at? Thanks!

Thank you, I will look into that. I did contemplate the portal service a few years back when I purchased my first Alexa, but seemed like it involved some setup and a subscription. I did end up integrating Alexa with ISY via IR and Harmony Hub. (At least enough function to control my home theater lighting, music, garage doors, and front gate, all by voice). I believe I will take Mr Bill's advice for now, "why fix what's not broken" LOL Thanks again for all the help/suggestions. -
Err & Mem Light Flashing Isy994i/IR

Yes thank you both for all the help! Quite embarrassing when the issue is something so simple. I would like a little more information (link), where I may read up more on setting up ports, port triggering, and port forwarding. It's been many years since I set all this up and routers are not something I totally understand. It does seem that mobilinc and blue iris (cameras) work fine on my phone and ipad when I'm away from home, so I assume I have something set up right, but also would like it set up properly.? Thanks again. -

Yes, I think one of my first cameras may have been port 80, probably long gone and before using Blue Iris software for my ip cameras. I believe I have port forwarding for the ISY port 443 and port 100, and then I have Blue Iris on a PC port 90.
