  1. I have just installed the above-captioned device, and it is not clear how to properly use the Administrative Console to manage this device. Specifically, when I added the device and it properly registered, there are 3 new items/icons in the My Lighting section of the Administrative Console. One is labeled Mud Room Motion Detector-Sens, one is labeled Mud Room Motion Detector-Dusk, and one is labeled Mud Room Motion Detector-Low (I entered the room definition). So my first question is why does a motion detector get 3 lines as opposed to a SwitchLinc, for example? My second question is are there functions specific to each of these three entries? If I click on the Set Options button, my options are the same regardless of which of the 3 items/icons I have selected. By the way, the icon for a motion detector is totally unlike the other icons in this window. Can you shed some light, please. Thanks. Gary
  2. Thanks!
  3. And how doI get this 3.3.3 release?
  4. Just a follow-up so see if this enhancement has been implemented. My wife really wants to get rid of the "evil glow" in our bedroom. Thanks.
  5. Any chance this upgrade has happened??
  6. Xpendable, which programs did you identify for the windows firewall to allow access?
  7. Xathros - I have tried your suggestion, but it makes no difference. I still get the same error when I use Michel's URL. Your URL got me the administrative console to connect to the ISY on premises. However, I have 2 other loctions with ISYs I have to manage, and I really would like to have the interface woirk the way it is supposed to.
  8. Michel - That doesn't work for me. See the start of this thread.
  9. Now I have another question. How do I add the other ISY's that are off my network so I can get to them via the admin console?
  10. Xathros - It worked like a champ. What do you suppose was the problem?
  11. I installed an update to Java earlier today, and now I am no longer able to launch the 99i administrative console from my desktop shortcut. If I open a browser and enter the ip address of the ISY, I have no problem getting to the administrative console. when I use the shortcut, I get an application error. If I click on the Details button, I get the following under the Launch File tab: 99i Administrative Console Universal Devices, Inc. Configuration Utility for ISY99i Series 99i Administrative Console urn:udi-com:device:X_Insteon_Lighting_Device:1 If I select the Exception tab, I get the following: JNLPException[category] at com.sun.javaws.security.JNLPSignedResourcesHelper.checkSignedResourcesHelper(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.security.JNLPSignedResourcesHelper.checkSignedResources(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareResources(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareAllResources(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.launch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) How do I fix this? I have tried uninstalling Java and reinstalling Java, but it makes no difference.
  12. Thank you, LeeG.
  13. That would be awesome, Michel. I will be looking forward to this new release.
  14. Is there a way to control the LEDs on a FanLinc through the ISY Administrative Console? There is a button for LED Brightness on the SwitchLinc Dimmer interface. I would thing there should be the same thing for the FanLinc.
  15. I have recently installed a new ISY in a home that had a bunch of previously installed Insteon devices, some of which had already been linked to each other via manual Insteon device linking. Of course, not all of the links show up in the Administrative Console. From reading and re-reading the documentation for the ISY I have come across the Note on Page 25 that says to avoid creating links manually and to instead create the links through the ISY. My question is, is there a way after the devices have been added to the ISY, within the ISY's Administrative Console, the get rid of all of these manually created links? Or do I have to go around to each device and manually unlink the device?
  16. Thanks for the reply, and the apology is not necessary. I have submitted a ticket.
  17. Actually, I got it done using Internet Explorer. Anyway, the darn Elk is still not talking to the ISY-99i, nor is the ISY-99i talking to the Elk.
  18. Michel, I am quite sure that it has the correct IP address, at least insofar as connecting to it via IP address. I have not tried name resolution. But I connect to it repeatedly with ElkRP, and I have also used Internet Explorer using the IP address you see in one of my pictures, above, which is 10.254.253.30. I can also see this IP address in the ARP table of my router. The IP address, by the way, is set static. I also get to the M1EXP when I am off-premises using HTTPS (The certificate says it was issued by the M1EXP) because I have set up some NAT passthroughs on my router. Starting today and for the next 7 days, I will be off-premises and trying to figure out how to actually connect to both the Elk M1G and the ISY-99i. No doubt another challenge. Thanks again. I am grateful for whatever suggestions you may have. I'm really not trying to build the Shang-Ri-La of home automation. I just want lights to come on and go off, making it look like the place is lived in while I am absent (it's a vacation home), and have lights go on when the alarm system is breached so my cameras can see to photograph the intruder.
  19. Michel, thank you very much for your reply. Indeed, when I was trying earlier I was connected to the M1G with ElkRP. So I have tried again without having the ElkRP application open. The results are the same. I have verified that I sent the activation of the non secure port, 2101, to the M1XEP. I have verified that I have 5.2.4 on the M1g and I have 1.3.28 on the M1XEP. What can I try next?
  20. Michel, I have performed the upgrade to 3.1.16. I presume that when the rules reside in the Elk, it nonetheless executes them via the ISY-99i. And if this presumption is correct, it seems to me there must be some way to verify the communication between the Elk and the ISY-99i. However, I see no way to perform this verification. I do not get the Security tab, nor do I get the Security System Bar. I have attached a screen shot. So where do I look next.
  21. So, I think I'm a little confused. I have not purchased or installed the Elk Module. Do I need to do this in order for my ISY-99i and Elk M1G to interact? I thought all I had to do was set up my Insteon devices on the ISY-99i with the Java applet, export my file for the Elk, and then import the file with the ElkRP software. all of the Insteon devices show up properly in the Lighting section of the Automation folder. I have created Rules in the Automation folder which appear to do everything they are supposed to do but turn lights on properly. I guess I also have to ask for instructions on how to update the firmware on the ISY99i as well.
  22. I think it is version 2.8.16. I have no idea how to tell what version of firmware I have. I have uploaded a picture of what I get when I go to Help About.
  23. I have successfully performed the steps specified in Section 3.7, Interfacing with the Elk, of the ISY-99i User Guide. However, I do not see a Security System tab on my ISY's HTML interface. Consequently, I am concerned that I am not properly conneected. What can/should I do?
