  1. Problem resolved with the latest UD release...no more crashes.
  2. Unfortunately, still not back. We haven't yet resolved the crash problems. Please stay tuned or add comments if anyone has any ideas. We've been working with Michel. We've ruled out Verizon Fios because we've placed a Dream Wall between the Verizon modem and the entire system and it shows that Fios has not gone down. We're not giving up!
  3. Try Murray Feit bulbs - ended my flicker/flick issues. The BR30 has variable Kelvin switch on it; PAR30, variable diameter.
  4. Oh, one good thing came out of this frustration. Most of the bulbs I had tried had some flicker when running at <100% brightness or a periodic "flick" when running at 100% brightness. I was about to install capacitators sold by Insteon to maintain a constant load on the switch, and, theoritcally, solve the problem. But, at the last moment, I was pointed to Murray Feit BR30 bulbs with variable Kelvin temperatures (switch on the bulb) and different flood diameters on the PAR30 bulb (again a switch on the bulb). They worked - essentially no flicker/flick and smooth 10%-100% brightening. Yippee!!!!
  5. Still troubleshooting... According to Verizon, it might not be the PLM, nor the EISY, nor my programming. It might be that the Verizon FIOS "channel" is not through putting a clean strong signal to my home due to congestion. So Verizon switched my channel to a less used one that was supposed to cure the numerous issues. Waiting to see if they are correct... BTW, Michel and his team have been wonderful trying to help me track down the problem. It has been nothing short of frustrating for all of us. So, please stay tuned. Once I'm back, I'll start testing the program that was the reason for starting this entire string.

  9. Okay and thx. I’ll reread ur email many times and try to create a program for a progressively brighter light that doesn’t all of a sudden go to/-100% from 60%, or so.

  11. If I turn off the light during this period, the program will turn it on again. I could try fade up, but there doesn't seem to be a max level and time frame for this option - I don't want 100%. Thanks.
  12. I have several different programs that turn on lights at various hours and at different levels. If I happen to have one of these lights turned on before the program executes, then it will change the light level to that indicated by the program. I've tried writing several programs to disable the program if the light is already on, but I have been unsuccessful. I would appreciate help in creating a program script that would avoid this issue. Thanks.
  13. I had a similar loop problem. To attempt a fix, I unplugged the eisy and PLM from 110v, then - in order - plugged the eisy into 110v and then (20 seconds later) did the same for the PLM. The program was still in a loop. So, for no reason at all, I decided to add an Insteon device and see what would happen. For some reason, that immediately stopped the loop. Didn't actually add the device and don't know why this stopped the loop... Oh, the program also advised me to upgrade to 5.8.4.1. That's another story and it created issues.
  14. Many of my scenes have on and off commands in just one program. However, I can see dividing the on and off functions into two programs. I do have a program that turns off everything at 2:30am.
  15. Here's the last in the series of programs. The interim program adjusts the lights to the "If" requirements. So, if I'm watching TV and I have changed the lighting intensity, etc., then this program won't execute. If not, it executes. Also, this one has an off time. It works great, too.
  16. I run a program which checks to see if any of the individual lights included in the scene are on. The lights are enumerated individually. If none are on, then the program runs the "then" statement, the scene executes, and all of the lights in the scene are turned on to a predetermined level. If any one is on, then the program "then" statement doesn't turn on the scene. It works fine.
  17. I'm not sure. Set the off time to 9pm and see what happens. If it doesn't shut the scene down, then write a simple "off" program for 11:31pm and reset the original program to 11:30pm or eliminate the off time entirely.
  18. Try it with the "Else" function blank (no action) and see what happens. If From Sunset + 30 minutes To 11:30:00PM (same day) And Status 'Garage Exterior' is Off Then Set Scene 'Exterior Lights' On Else - No Actions - (to add one, press "Action")
  19. Yes, five of them...one on each panel. According to the electrician, all are primary panels, not sub-panels.
  20. Well, we finished the installation and all seems to be working fine. The "solution" was to add four dual dimmers as access points in the wing of the house that was giving us trouble. We placed them in the middle of long runs where there were no Insteon devices. It took a minor bit of trial and error, but within about 20 minutes the house was rock solid and has stayed that way for over a week. I tried this method in lieu of searching for noisy appliances and LED's. If it didn't work, then I would have played Sherlock Holmes. I'm sure that there is some noise on the line, but, since this is working, I am leaving well enough alone. As far as the tap test, I believe that I was covered since I had the electrician couple the legs at each panel. Thanks to all!
  21. Got it, thanks. BTW, when you mention LED's, could the little, thin, plug-in LED nightlights be noise makers, too? There are a lot of them around the house. If so, unplugging them is very simple. Possibly, one of them is doing a lot of singing.
  22. Teken, OMG, you just hit a grand slam! 1. We will look for the noise from the 220v dryer and 110v washer. 2. I noticed a high ramp rate in one of the "S", not "D", switches that is not responding. Never saw that before. Anyway, that was one of the switches that was going to be reset. 3. Here's the grand slam... The electrical setup for the original installation was a 25 foot extension cord to a plastic duplex outlet near the panel. The whole house is Romex, as permitted by code. Once everything was working, we had the electrician install the single separate outlet near the internet connection and the ISY. The new box is all metal. In one of my other installations, the PLM is plugged into a plastic Romex outlet. In NYC, the PLM is connected via an extension cord to the all metal outlet. In each of these situations, the RF signal is not instantly attenuated. In the current installation, it is. So, the box needs to be changed, or we should merely use a six foot extension cord from the new box. Thank you! Harold
  23. Unplugging will be extremely difficult. We will shut them off at the breakers to see if there are any changes. If there are changes, we will have to figure out how to put filters in place since the units are in a row of two and mounted one on top of another, AND they are very large. So, we are of the opinion that the extra switch would not make matters worse. But, might it counteract a bit of the washer/dryer signal absorption and added noise? Comments?
  24. The new washers and dryers are definitely fancy and have electronic controls. Assuming that they are sucking up the signals, would it help if I placed a dual switch near the washers and dryers to boost the Insteon network or would that make matters worse?
  25. It is a dedicated circuit directly to a breaker in the panel. Nothing else is connected to that dedicated homerun line. A little more background... There are three problem switches/connections. Two are within a few feet of two communicating switches on one end of the house. The two non communicating switches are part of a four way light. The load switch communicates, the two others decided not to do so after initially communicating just fine. I believe that the problem arose while programming all three into a scene. These switches will be reset and re-entered into the ISY. I'm hopeful that if the load switch of the four way is working, it was merely a glitch. Fingers crossed... The other troublesome switch is in the garage not far from two other garage switches that are communicating perfectly. We believe that the troublesome switch is on another leg. We have unplugged every noise maker that we can find. We intend to pull a temporary line from the panel on the same leg of the other operating switches in the garage. If that works, we will put that switch on a new permanent line or add it to the leg of the other two switches in the garage that are not acting up. There are two new dryers and washing machines coming from the panels in the garage. I'm of the belief that these four machines are not helping matters. We cannot get to the backs of these machines to install filters.
