  1. I don't think it was a miracle, I think by his own description he hardcoded it to call the dim/bright 3 times in a row.
  2. March 31? As Tim suggested in his post, you might have a goldmine right there, to resell at a markup or even trade someone for an echo, given the long long delays.
  3. Currently it pulses 3 times, where 3% is the nominal amount of dimming for an Insteon scene dim/brighten. I too would like to have an option to set it to 5-7 pulses. Anyone else want to see this made a variable that the admin can set in the portal?
  4. I think the OP wanted a hook into the predefined exchange with Alexa. Amazon would have to allow an option to append CoHo calls to the canned interactions, which seems like a pretty good idea, really.
  5. I got in the next day and was offered April 20 delivery. Hopefully their stock tracker is just pessimistic, because if they are delayed to July on just presale, they will be months delayed on making it available to new customers, which will just slow the demand for new features for us!
  6. Added, note, you could use a program to get your secondary keypad back in synch with the one that has the load.
  7. You cannot dim a "scene" to a specific level. Insteon protocol issue, discussed in a few other threads here. Benoit added ability to dim/brighten scenes in 9% (ish) intervals by issuing the command to dim or brighten it. If there is only one lighting device in the scene, just target that device.
  8. Might you want to return your valve actuators to previous position in the else when heating ends?
  9. I see. I was asking about post #2 where you have a different solution. I thought you knew some inexplicable state machine quirk that would make it turn off with the program logic you provided there and I wanted to understand how it would work.
  10. Sorry to be thick, but I don't see where the Then turns anything off. isn't it calling itself? On, wait 3, on, wait 3, on, wait 3?
  11. But how would the else be executed? The state variable is not changing. Doesn't this just loop back on itself staying constantly on? Then Set 'Pool Equipment / FilterPump' On Set 'Pool Equipment / PoolHeater' On Wait 3 hours Run Program 'HeatPool' (Then Path)
  12. I find that if installing a lot of devices I want to make sure they work before installing them and I would rather not run back and forth to/from the switch location, breaker box and the PC. You can set up a simple lab bench that allows you to quickly attach to power and add them in one location, then turn off the breakers and install all at once. I just use a power cord and wire nuts that can be plugged into an outlet, but you could wire up a box with a switch to cut power and quick connectors of some kind to make it even easier.
  13. Lee, Could you explain why the off statements are not required in the Then? OP wanted to a 6 hour cycle to repeat, 3 on, 3 off, while the heating variable is on. How does your statement accomplish that? It looks like it just keeps turning on every three hours.
  14. Does anyone who has used the IFTTT/Portal approach know how much battery drain the Tasker or Locative apps put on your device?
  15. In earlier versions of the portal interface scenes and devices could be added to portal from a single pulldown menu, so you may have added the originals at the same time as devices.
  16. Out of curiosity, how would a non-echo Alexa-enabled device like Fire TV Stick work?
  17. Now this is a nice interface - an ISY integration would be fantastic. Though it doesn't have the backing of Amazon's mighty bankroll, this does seem like the visual analogue of the Echo voice paradigm. Hopefully they will make their platform extensible. Would be awesome to be able to plug in apps - video on demand services, music controllers, lighting controllers, etc.
  18. It doesn't let you share music, only books and streaming video.
  19. As it is Python, what would it take to run on a more elegant form-factor device, such as an android tablet?
  20. No, looks like Households is useless in this regard. Sorry.
  21. I wonder if the Prime Family accounts are fully functional and could be set up this way. That might get you coverage for 6 Echos that still have access to media. Edit: Prime Households? Whatever the name is.
  22. Do you have to enable autodetect or is it, uh, automatic if I match up the id/password and input both the local IP and Portal URLs?
  23. Program with Then and Else the same?
  24. Use the dimmer because it won't have the relay click of the on/off module. Assuming you have a 3 conductor connection to the ceiling, you could also choose to actively power the light from the keypad instead of from the fanlinc, which might gain you a tiny bit more reliability.
  25. this might be the best argument for using an emulator with or instead of the portal I am going to try a state variable instead, with a few programs to respond to a change.
