  1. Depending on the distance between your house and the workshop you might be able to couple the two via RF using two range extenders, or plug in dual band modules, one in each location. Mount them as high up as possible and as close as possible to one another. The easiest way to find out if it will work is to give it a try
  2. If you right click on a device and then click on delete it will remove all the device's links in both the ISY and the PLM, as if the device never existed. If the device is in a folder you have to remove the device from a folder before deleting it. If you have any programs or scenes that included the device then the device will also be removed from them as well. If you want to reinstall the device it's best to do a factory reset before again linking it to the ISY
  3. The error message is a Driver error. Not sure what would cause this error. You might try uninstalling it from the ISY, do a factory reset again, then try to reinstall it. It's possible the device failed. What's the 4 digit date code and version number on the device sticker?
  4. The green led shows the status of the device, i.e. on or off The IOLincs are powerline only devices. If you have interference on the powerline it could affect the ability to communicate. As PaulBates suggested do a factory reset and restore device. If that doesn't work then try locating the IOLinc close to a dual band device for test purposes. Lastly, there's always the remote possibility that the IOLinc took a trip South.
  5. Yes, right click on the device in the device tree and click on Disable or in a program you can do the following: IF Then (device name) Disable Else The program's "then clause" can be called by a timer, or the push of a button on another KPL, etc.
  6. Do a factory reset on the switch with the load, then a restore device.
  7. The hidden door sensor ships with a spacer (shim) that you can place behind the sensor thus moving the sensor closer to the door. That will help close the gap between the edge of the door and the sensor.

How are you trying to delete the scene? What devices are in the scene? Did you right click on the scene then click delete?
  9. Looks like they changed the name. It appears to be backordered https://www.smarthome.com/synchrolinc-insteon-2423a5-power-synching-controller.html
  10. You could write a program. This might work. If Status kitchen light is not 60% Then turn off keypad button
  11. It's their annual Memorial Day sale, enjoy the discount. . The items that are out of stock usually show backordered. The Synchrolinc is nowhere to be found, it's possible they dropped it from their line if it wasn't selling. I was told that the new owner is focusing on the Insteon Hub and the iPhone / Android apps.
  12. Not that I know of. You can run a Topology report which will show what devices are in a scene but not programs that are associated with the scene.
  13. Take a look at this http://cache-m2.smarthome.com/manuals/2401al6%20manual.pdf. What you want to do may not be possible as the underlying frame may not support the large buttons in the middle rows
  14. If you put the large button covers over a pair of button on the keypad you could then write a program to do whatever if either of the two buttons under the large cover were pressed. You still might have to modify the framework under the buttons.
  15. Welcome to the forum. The Insteon keypads are sold as either 6 button or 8 button. Smarthome sells kits that can convert an 8 to a 6 and a 6 to a 8. In addition to the buttons the kits include underlying framework. In addition to the physical modifications the keypads need to be programmed to reflect the change. The info is included in the keypad manual.
  16. 7.2 is the device hardware version v.44 is the device firmware version "Cannot determine Insteon engine" usually means a communication problem between the PLM and the device. It's possible that there was some interference on the powerline when you tried to add the device being that you were able to add another device at the same location. Are you sure you did a complete factory reset, i.e. pulling out the set tab, the pushing it un until the device emits a tone, and continuing to holding it in until the tone stops.
  17. It's possible that the door isn't fully depressing the sensor switch. You may have to put shims behind the switch.
  18. To clear the low battery node on the ISY you need to click on the Low Battery Node in order to reset it. If you still show low battery after clearing the node then you either have a low battery or a problem with the MS.

You'll have to run the PLM link count a few times when the ISY isn't busy then average it out. I'm not aware of any other option to get an exact count.

I'm still on 4.6.2 because I need stability and reliability. Anytime you use an alpha or beta version there's always a chance of unforeseen issues cropping up.
  21. Techman replied to jkraus's topic in ISY994
If you're using 4.6.2 firmware then only the ON node is supported with a fixed 30 second timeout. No options can be configured. If you're using 5.x.x firmware you can install the sensor as a 2842-222 and it can be configured via the ISY. In future 5.x.x firmware releases it will hopefully be fully supported.
  22. The ISY supports up to a 16 GB SD card, did you follow the instructions below? In some instances you may want to replace your SD card. For example:  You are experiencing a blinking ERR light which could indicated a bad SD card. The ISY supports up to a 16GB SD card. Once your SD card is replaced, you will need to re-load the firmware onto your ISY as well as restore your configuration from a backup. Please be sure to have a good backup before attempting an SD card upgrade. With you ISY you have an externally accessible SD card. Simply unplug all cables from your ISY, pull out the old SD card, and insert the new SD card. You will also need to reload the firmware onto your ISY. Proceed to the paragraph labeled “Reloading The ISY Firmware and Restoring From Backup.” Reloading the ISY Firmware and Restoring From Backup Once you’ve replaced your ISY’s SD card, you will need to re-load the firmware as well as restore your configuration from a backup.  Boot your ISY with the new SD card installed From a PC on your LAN, visit the following URL to launch the Administrative Console and locate your ISY (This link may not work with Chrome): http://isy.universal...com/994i/4.2.30  Login to the Administrative Console (default username and password are both “admin”)  Click on the HELP pull-down menu, then MANUALLY UPGRADE MY LIGHTING.  Browse to the firmware file you wish to install. If you do not have a copy of the ISY firmware, please visit our forum for the download link: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=25  After the firmware is installed your ISY reboots. Please re-launch the Administrative Console and login: http://www.universal-devices.com/994i  Click on the FILE pull-down menu, then RESTORE ISY and choose your last backup.
  23. Try doing a factory reset on the Switchlinc, then do a restore device
  24. The downside to running a continuous query is that it can slow down the ISY and may interfere with other programs, It's best to work on improving the communications. If you have an extra dual band device laying around try plugging into the front of the IOlinc to see if that eliminates your problem.
