  1. In the tools menu click on "Generate Topology". This will create a detailed report of your scenes and devices.
  2. I have several of the new on/off modules. I just tested one using an led bulb that draws 1.7 watts. There was no indication of any voltage going to the bulb when the module was switched off. I think the new modules are using a relay rather than a solid state device to control the output.
  3. The new on/off modules don't have the load sensing feature that the older appliance modules have so the current leakage issue should be non-existent.
  4. Kingwr, have you taken a look at the new on/off modules http://www.smarthome.com/2635-222/INSTE ... ule/p.aspx These don't have the current leakage issue that the appliance modules have and they're dual band. They just started shipping them last week.
  5. Jpoje, you may want to take a look at this: http://www.smarthome.com/2843-222/INSTE ... sor/p.aspx I don't think it's waterproof but you may be able to adapt it.
  6. Probably the easiest way to interface the status of your garage door to the ISY is to use this: http://www.smarthome.com/74551/I-O-Linc ... Kit/p.aspx You can then set up an ISY email notification to inform you when the garage doors opens and/or closes including the event time.
  7. I recently had a similar problem with 50001 - 11 errors and intermittent email notifications. I created a unique email address for the ISY and then whitelisted that address in my server and haven't had an issue since. I also increased the timeout in the ISY. Who are you using for your smtp server?

    Error code?

Xathros I've tried two different smtp servers, earthlink and powweb, with mixed results. All the fields are correctly populated and the program(s) are running as they should. It seems that the mail servers may be randomly blocking the emails from the ISY due to the format or ??. Both servers require SMTP authentication but I don't see that as an option in the ISY The only error messages are the fail of the "TO" address. When I use the ISY default mail server everything seems to work OK.

    Error code?

Michel and Xathros Thank you for the response. I get about two DHCP messages per day, usually about 15 seconds apart but not close to the time the emails were supposed to be sent out. I'm also still seeing a lot of 50001 - 11 errors but they're intermittent which is making it difficult to troubleshoot. I've tried white listing the email address I'm using from the ISY but my ISP apparently doesn't like my ISY emails

    Error code?

What is the significance of the following error code, I couldn't find it in the Wiki, and have several of these in my error log. I'm still having intermittent problems with email notifications not being successfully sent out. System -100 [DHCP] state=RENEW
  11. Hi Michel, I played around with it and it now seems to be working. I increased the timeout and changed the data in the from field. Not sure why it stopped working a few days ago, but it seems to be OK for now. Thank you. UPDATE It looks like I spoke too soon. The email notifications stopped working again. Nothing was changed between the time it was working and now. The error message now shows the "To Timed out". I tried changing the recipient address but that didn't resolve the problem. Is it possible I have something corrupted in a config file?
  12. I've tried two different mail servers, from different ISP's, and I still get the same error messages.
  13. Hi Michel When I send a test email using the default mail server the email is successful When I try to send a test using any other email server settings I get a pop up box error messages. The first time I send a test email the error is the DHCP error, the second time is the Mail Server Failure error. I've tried rebooting all the devices to no avail. Everything was working fine up until a few days ago
  14. I recently started getting "mail server failure " errors when I try to send an email notification from my 994. My mail server (Powweb) doesn't appear to have any issues and I'm able to send emails through other devices using the Powweb server. Everything was working fine a few days ago. As far as I know nothing has been changed. If I use the default mail server setting on the 994 it seems to work OK. The following is from the event log after I try to send a test email using my mail server Sat 09/21/2013 03:25:34 PM : [FileOpen ] Open failed for [/CONF/ELEC.CFG]® Sat 09/21/2013 03:25:39 PM : [FileOpen ] Open failed for [/CONF/ELK.CNF] ® Sat 09/21/2013 03:25:43 PM : [FileOpen ] Open failed for [/CONF/ELK.CNF] ® It appears that I may have a damaged ISY config file but I'm not sure how to address the issue.
  15. LeeG and Xathros - thank you for your input. I wanted to use the LED color change kit but found that when using the color diffusers you need to have the LED's set at a high level in order to compensate for the loss of light through the diffusers. I wanted the buttons to be dark when off but with the mandated 0/8 ratio it's obviously not possible. What's the logic behind not being able to select the on led intensity completely independent of the off intensity?
  16. I have a simple program that runs in a time slot and that turns on a bathroom fan if the humidity (reported from a wireless thermostat) exceeds a certain number and turns it off if the humidity goes below that number. The else line currently reads "else set bath fan off" How can I also program the switch to turn on the fan manually and stay on until I manually turn it off thus overriding the above program?
  17. In this case when you set the LED off level to a low or off level it also reduces the maximum brightness of the on level. The KPL is mounted in a table top enclosure situated in a room with a high ambient light level. I'm using it to show which motion sensors have been activated and would like the LEDs to be either maximum brightness or off.
  18. I noticed that when you set the on LED on level to max then lower the LED off level it also reduces the on level brightness. Is this a bug or by design?
  19. Thanks Lee. I decided to put the jumper on pin 1 and left the jumper on pin 5. There's no way to really tell if the senistivity is reduced. I'll give it a few days to see if I get any false outs.
  20. Is there a way to remotely adjust the detection sensitivity (2842-222 v.41)? The unit is installed outside and I'm getting phantom triggers due to temperature changes. If not, can the senistivity still be adjusted locally if the pin 5 jumper (remote management) is set to on or do I have to remove the pin 5 jumper and leave it off in order to reduce the detection range by placing a jumper on pin 1?

    ISY Dashboard

Is it possible to change the color scheme of the Dashboard? My device names appear in yellow which is difficult to see
  22. You may want to try a X10 Chime module (SC546A ). They're about $25 and an all in one solution.
  23. Can the ISY configure the MS settings, i.e. sensitivity, remotely?
  24. Does anyone know if the low battery signal gets sent out only once or continually until the battery is replaced. If continually, at what intervals? What seems to be the average battery life?
  25. LeeG, many thanks. It now works fine. I didn't realize that you could use the device in lieu of the scene name.
