How to monitor water temp via ISY and catch more fish!
pyrorobert replied to jmed999's topic in ISY994
I installed the remote wireless thermostat to my pool equipment to monitor the actual temp of my pool. I soldered in the wired waterproof temperature sensor and cut it into the return at my pool equipment. If you solder it in the actual thermistor position, you can see it within the ISY. Very easy to do. I was able to use a 1/2" plug drilled to fit the sensor inside, then I sealed it using water weld to secure it. I am able to service it when need be. The last image is from the Pool thermostat showing the temp using Agave. -
Rleidy, I used the scenes to control and monitor my garage door. The first scene you set the keypad button as the controller and the iolinc as the responder. My other scene is set up for status in which I used the keypad button as the responder and the iolinc status as the controller.

Thanks Lee, I will give that a shot. It is a program and not a scene. Robert

Is it possible for a Keypadlinc button to be momentary on? I set up a good bye button with a program, but the only thing is, when it is pressed, it has to be pressed again to release the button. I have it set up as a toggle on/off. Will it help if I set this button to Always on? Or does this mean that the button will always be on leaving the scene on or is it a momentary on? Thanks, Robert

I was at Smarthome today and speaking to Elliot, he mentioned that they have caught on to other's idea of waiting until Cyber Monday to make their purchases. He also said they may have less sales like the one this weekend. Picked up a few items for a pretty good price. Regards Robert

Could that come from Mobilinc? That is the only other thing that controls my garage door. Thanks,
-
Wow, I sure hope so, don't need to be running down the stairs again with my pistol in hand.

I pulled this from the events log that was saved in Notepad, I will annotate what each is: Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:03 AM : [ 24 2C B0 2] ST 255 IOLinc status Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:04 AM : [ 24 2C B0 1] DON 0 IOLinc Relay on Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:04 AM : [ 24 2C B0 1] ST 255 IOLinc Status Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:04 AM : [ 2B 98 C9 3] ST 255 KeypadLinc showing status Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:05 AM : [VAR 2 6 ] 1 DSC showing open status of garage door Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:05 AM : [VAR 2 13 ] 1 DSC Entry delay activated Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:09 AM : [VAR 2 17 ] 1 DSC heartbeat Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:39 AM : [VAR 2 17 ] -1 DSC heartbeat Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:44 AM : [VAR 2 16 ] 1 DSC disarmed Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:44 AM : [VAR 2 15 ] 0 DSC no longer showing armed-stay Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:44 AM : [ 2A 69 7 1] ST 255 Front of garage lights on Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:44 AM : [VAR 2 13 ] 0 DSC Garage door closed Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:45 AM : [ 22 B7 7C 1] ST 255 Living Room light on Tue 10/28/2014 02:09:45 AM : [ 29 E7 53 1] ST 255 Dining Room light on This shows a little more clarification of what happened. This one is the relay module "2 Door Garage Door Open" and this one is the sensor status "2 Door Garage Status" If you see the log, it does show the status came in right after it opened the door. Thanks,
-
Yes, it can.

Most of the items shown are part of the programs that were created. Usually the alarm system once activated, will activate all the lights in the house. The ones listed are lights that turn on when arriving home and the garage door is opened plus the disarming of the security system. I did disarm the system before it went into full alarm to not scare the kids out of bed. The one listed "Backyard Light / Garage Door - C Status " is from my Keypadlinc in the kitchen by the back door to show status of the Garage door if it is open or not. I hope this helps to clarify. Thanks, Robert

The first line of my log shown was the relay on command: "2 Door Garage Door Open On 100 Tue 2014/10/28 02:09:18 AM Web Log" Somehow it did come from the ISY, so I would assume. Thanks, Robert

My wiring to the IOLinc is an 18g solid wire, nothing that would have frayed across the contacts and it all looks fine. My Garage Door opener is a new Genie that I purchased less than a year ago, and I haven't had any issues with it. Before we went to sleep, I know we armed the security system and was ready when it was armed. I definitely don't believe it could be any humidity as I live in the Los Angeles area. It's pretty dry right now. My security system points to the garage are wireless ones, but don't believe they are even close to being near in frequency. Thanks, Robert

Hello All, So this early morning, my I/OLinc that controls the garage door activated by itself and opened the door. Once that happened, my security system activated and sent us into Protection mode! I swept the home to verify that no one was trying to break in, then locked everything back up and rearmed the security system. I looked at my log and it showed that the I/OLinc turned on, but it doesn't show by whom. Does anyone have any ideas or any reason that this would have happened. I have had my system up and running for about 2 years now and this has never happened before. It really put my wife in a panic mode, good thing I was home when it happened. Please share your ideas or insight: Here is my log from this morning: 2 Door Garage Door Open On 100 Tue 2014/10/28 02:09:18 AM Web Log 2 Door Garage Door Open Status 100% Tue 2014/10/28 02:09:19 AM System Log 2 Door Garage Status Status 100% Tue 2014/10/28 02:09:20 AM System Log Backyard Light / Garage Door - C Status 100% Tue 2014/10/28 02:09:20 AM System Log Garage Front Lights On Tue 2014/10/28 02:10:00 AM Program Log Living Room Lamp On Tue 2014/10/28 02:10:00 AM Program Log Dining Room On Tue 2014/10/28 02:10:00 AM Program Log Garage Front Lights Status 100% Tue 2014/10/28 02:10:00 AM System Log Living Room Lamp Status 100% Tue 2014/10/28 02:10:01 AM System Log Dining Room Status 100% Tue 2014/10/28 02:10:01 AM System Log 2 Door Garage Status Status Query Tue 2014/10/28 02:11:39 AM Web Log Thanks, Robert

So as of yesterday, I began to have the same issues. Didn't realize every one else was having communication issues too. Although I don't receive emails, but none of my text messages are coming through either. I have tried resetting my settins, but nothing has helped. So every time I send test email or text, I receive a mail server failure Unsupported authentication method.

Hello Michel, The SMTP that I use is gmail's and it has been working fine before. I was always able to send a test email just fine, but my test text messages weren't working. I did open a ticket with you guys and Steve answered me back. I originally had a static ip, but because it wasn't working, I selected automatic DHCP. I also selected used Default as Steve suggested. It does seem to be sending them now. Now my question is why did this happen if it was happy before. When and how can I change it back to a Static IP to make sure my ISY doesn't change IP addresses? What does the "use Default" do to the system to make it work? I am kind of confused as to why this happened as I never changed anything. At this moment, I receive the emails from "alerts@universal devices.com". Thank you again for your assistance, Robert

So for the past year, my text notifications have been sending properly to our cell phones. Now all of a sudden, it is no longer sending any kind of text messages. I have checked my set up in the ISY and nothing has changed. I also tried sending myself an email to text through my email account and that worked properly. Under my email account, I will receive an email stating that my security system has been disarmed or armed and that the delivery of the email to text failed. I also tried sending test emails and those work properly, but the text messages will not go through. Just for the info, I have a DSC panel linked to my ISY with DSCLink and that all works properly. I can Arm and Disarm my system through Mobilinc, but with no notifications. Please any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Robert

Hello, need some assistance with a Micro On/Off module. I am using an ISY-994 for my programs. I have it tied into a floodlight with a motion sensor built in. I also have a switchlinc that is programmed to turn on and off the floodlights and that works fine. I can also turn on the floodlights through the Micro module. I do have all the wiring to the Micro module wired in correctly, but the motion will not activate the module. Is there aything additional that nneds to be done? I have looked at my programming in my ISY and cannot seem to figure it out. Thanks, Robert

Hello Michel, Thanks for the reply, but I think I am a little confused. The whole purpose of the Else is to run as long as any of the If are not true, right. So in this case, it wouldn't turn on the heater if any of those aren't true. Please let me know if that is correct. Thanks, Robert

Hello all, I am adding a program for my thermostat to turn on whenever the temperature drops at or below the shown temp then the heater will automatically turn on. Here is what I have, please let me know if this looks correct. I have a Venstar 1700 with an insteon thermostat adapter plugged into it. Thanks, Robert If Status 'Upstairs thermostat - Main' <= 65 degrees (Temperature) And From 10:00 pm To 7:00 am (next day) And $AlarmStatus_ArmedStay is 1 Then Set 'Upstairs Thermostat - Main' 68 degrees (Heat Setpoint) Set 'Upstairs Thermostat - Main' Mode Heat Else Set 'Upstairs Thermostat - Main' Mode Off

Really? Thanks, I feel like such a d%mb$ss. Cheers, Robert

Hello, So I made a simple program for my front porch light that is using a 2477S switch. It turns on with no problem, but it does not time out and turn off when it is supposed to. It will stay on until we turn it off manually or by mobilinc or the admin console. Please let me know if I am leaving something out. If From Sunset + 20 minutes To Sunrise - 20 minutes (next day) Then Set 'Front Porch Light' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Thanks, Robert
