I am on the latest firmware and have loaded the latest start.jlp and cleared the jave clash. ISY is found and loads fine, it is just that not found message shows when I add a Zwave switch. The add Zwave loads right on tom of the ISY not found message and allows me to add the device just fine, and the not found message goes away when the wdd zwave box closes.

I was able to fix the flashing lites issue, seems some of my light bulbs didn’t like the ramp rate on the ultrapro switches I used. I found the parameter number that allows the switch to work in straight switch mode when operated on the wall, still allows dimming by the ISY. For anyone that is interested the parameter is 16 and the setting should be 1 (default is 0). Still don’t know why I get the ISY nof found message though.

My PLM failed sonI made the decision to replace all the Insteon devices with ZWave. I added-my first four switches on Tuesday and all went fine and lights all work as expected. Today I added the remaining switches and when I went to add them to the ISY the add device box opened but an ISY notfound box opened also, although not selectable, and closes when I close the add device box. see included picture. I was able to add the devices but the lights all flash several times when being switched on, none of the switches installed Tuesday do this. All ZWave switches added are the same model. Any ideas what is going on.

Don"t see any link just an error message?

Never had an issue finding the firmware before but can not find a link today for some reason. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Javi that was the solution, had to do a couple of more things, but that was the key. All working now.

Understanding how Google/ISY commands work and updating.

Thanks for the input guys. It looks like the issue may be with the ISY. I deleted all the commands out of the program and entered them all again, everything worked as expected. Will never know why for sure but at least it is working now and I will be aware of this and redo the whole program when I want to change something. @larryllix. I had issues with gh when they first started to add rooms and it took them a long time to sort it out, my system has been rock solid for a long time now. My only real issue with gh is they make changes and don’t publish anything about them. I still have a couple of Alexa devices but only use them for verbal alerts. -

So does that mean that the actual commands are loaded to Google and not just command to execute the program? -
Understanding how Google/ISY commands work and updating.

Yes it is a program and yes it works when running it from any other method than Google. This is really strange as I gave it an alternative spoken and reloaded to google, the alternate spoken works but the original still dims the one light instead of switching it off. I think I am going to write a new program with the same commands and try using that one. -
I have had Google spokens working great for a few years and have updated programs as reqd to meet my needs. Now I have been updating a program that dims the lights and sets the colors on Hue lights. The Hue portion is working just fine using a network resource as is a program call to several Insteon lights, but an Insteon switch that I have changed from dimming to turning off still wants to dim. I have deleted the Google spoken and resent spokens to google, then created the spoken again and resent again to Google but that one light still wants to dim. How does the ISY and Google work are the actual commands sent to Google? Would appreciate any and all thoughts Trevor

Then I would scare the hell out of them?

It does very much depend on what you want to do. I have GH in every room, displays in three main rooms and either the original GH units or minis in all the others. I also have 3 Alexa units deployed. I use the Google Home for all lights, TV and controlling state etc. I also use Google for whole house Audio as it much better than echo units. There is no delay between speakers in my house even though I have 10 deployed through out the house, if there was any delay you can compensate for it in the app. Like others I prefer the routines in GH and use them in conjunction with programs in the ISY to control media lights etc. The only things I use Alexa for is to verbally let me know if someone is approaching the house and as an intercom between the three main rooms my wife and I use. The bottom line is I find GH easy to work with to get the results I want.

Could you please share how you got the programs to show up in Google Home app. Thanks

I found the same thing when I changed one of my scenes to light instead of scene. In that instance it worked fine as the scene only contained one light. What I am concened about is with the room feature working now a “Turn off Family room” vefbal will turn off all lights in the room and a scene (Program) does not need to have an off. I guess you could just leave the “else” blank, will try that and see what the result is and if it causes extra delay etc.

In the new Google Home app I can only find Scenes when adding or editing a routine. Is that the only way we can use Scenes now, I had hoped they would be available inside of rooms, especially on the Google Hub display.

I had an issue adding my existing echo devices to speaker groups when I picked up a couple of the latest dots. I traced it down to wifi issues. Even though all devices were on the same wifi they could not be added, Removing the devices that could not join groups from my sccount and then re adding it solved my issue.

I have noticed similar issues with Hue lights when using ISY programs to control using a series 1 Hue hub. It appears to me that the Hue hub can’t keep up with the commands coming in.

Thanks apostolakisi.. You must have been writing your reply as Inwas posting mine.. You are 100% correct as stated all is working fine now.

I am so sorry for wasting everyone’s time on this... It was a case of user error and over thinking the problem. Turns out they are two normal threeway circuits, what thru me initialy was I knew the power was entering on box 1 and couln’t undersant why box 2 was hot. This got my head wrapped around all kinds of wild ideas of californis wiring etc... Once I started following oberkc’s advice and documenting the wiring I found out although the power entered into box 1 it was then routed to box 2. So from there it all fell into place. Have the Z-Wave switches in and working great. Thanks everyone who offered ideas. Trevor

Actualy they are not outlawed if there is a neutral in the boxes which there is, at least that is what I have read.
