I wouldn't know where to start as I change my mind and ideas on a regular basis. Leave lots of room for variable grouping by creating spare variables in each grouping of functions. I organise my devices by rooms and programs by function, using folders for each style.

Just get the Philips "Warm Glow" bulbs (Home Depot) and control them from an Insteon LampLinc plug in dimmer. Apparently they dim down quite low with the smaller yellow LED as the Cooler white and larger LED fades out. I have none. I use Magic Home bulbs controller by python3 code in my polisy (formerly RPi) and my ISY controls that by Network Resources packets, for full RGBWW lighting. For MagicHome compatible bulbs look for the cell phone app or bulbs with the RGBW letters, all in circles on the sides of the bulbs. Java is not related to webpage servers. Many vehicles and industrial equipment use java without needing webpage servers or browsers. That may be the future of polisy someday but not yet. The admin console was not created to be a user remote control box but rather a setup medium for a home automation system to only be needed when programming needs to be changed.

You would have to look up your mobile provider's address but typically the format is 9876543210@cellprovider.com. You can prove this from your email client to your cell phone.

Replacing the SD card is made very easy by UDI. ISY994 has some boot firmware to load an image of ISY994. After doing that, installing your credentials and location, time zone etc.. you can restore your latest image.

Have you tried removing the microSD card and cleaning the contacts with >75% alcohol or contact cleaner, on a Q-tip, and then replacing it?

The "log was blank"? That would be rather odd. Use the notify program construct. It works with email and can be converted to an SMS message. It also can contain variable information. Search for Belias user here for a tested method of leak detection programs.

Relax! You need to take a step back and cool your jets a bit perhaps. Maybe re-read your threads and look for alternate meanings. This happens occasionally in text only environments. People on this forum are very helpful and want to help you, but you may be new and not as familiar with expressing yourself in their language, of the ISY forum. You are not the only one this happens to. You will learn to slow down and not react quite so volatile, as you have been, and things will be fine for all involved. You will be a happier camper, in the end. You will get through this. I find it is usually my own wording that has been misunderstood as many come from different cultures of English and technology. Decimal variable values

That was the point of my recent request to have a NOT ( ) implemented. This is not one that can be done in one program without implementation of a compound NOT( logic.

I got several of those 3 or 6? Watt solar panels that charge your car battery, on a good sale. I should ave known better, having lots of experience with larger solar panels and working in the energy metering field for 34 years. First of all, a PV panel puts out about 5-10% of it's rating behind shaded glass. Second, the PV panel is not perpendicular to the sun at any time of the day. Third, the sun is very low in the winter, Fourth, the car is covered in snow and gets no solar radiation at all. Fifth, the panel had an LED on it that, when calculated, drew more energy from the battery than the panel could produce and drained the car battery I returned the other panels instead of using them as gifts but wanted to choke somebody at the store and was ashamed of myself for not doing the basic energy budget calculations

MiLight devices are not WiFi protocol and require a Hub for every four groups (group = 1 bulb/controller address = n bulbs) . MagicHome is 2.4GHz WiFi and requires no Hub.

I have tried them, own about five bulbs and 20 LED strips controllers. (in a box right now). I was using my own software drivers initiated by ISY NR commands. MiLight signals are NOT WiFi despite their constant attempts to con buyers. They are 2.4 MHz signals put out by their hubs, controlled by WiFi. You will require a MiLight Hub for every four groups of bulbs (1-4) or LED strip controllers. I was using two Hubs and about to buy a few more when I switched to WiFi based lights and controllers. The MiLight bulbs put out a full range of colours but the RGB LED bulbs were a little weak. The Whites were good brilliance (about 75 W equiv.). The MiLight LED strip controllers acted exactly the same as the MagicHome controllers, when using the same RGBW LED strips. MiLight protocol is very simple with no feedback to the sender. It takes UDP packets and they are usually sent about three times to increase the chance of success. MagicHome sends TCP packets and can receive confirmations of success, as well as complete status. IIRC there are 8 group hubs for MiLights now. A group can be any number of bulbs/strips, if your logic can handle that and don't mind a limit of 4 or 8 different colours or levels simultaneously, or using more hubs.

I have found "away" and "vacation" to be different functions, completely. For Away I don't shut down my HRV ventilation or set my heating or humidifier back. They take many days to recover. Away runs off of 12 MSes and a few other components like SwitchLincs etc that can only be operated by humans inside the house. The Home / Away countdown timer stops during sleep hours and continuous in the morning. Each MS resets the timer to a different number of minutes remaining. Setting the ISY based security system from a KPL as a combo keypad, cancels the timer. I run my Vacation variable off my ecobee thermostats as the stats have detailed timers and preset-ability for future dates. Vacation runs more security home lighting faking etc.. and sets HVAC parameters back to save energy money. I gave up on automatic Vacation mode as I would get home the next day or two and the HVAC would be set back and we we sleep in a cold house for the night. Infloor slab heating is like that and can take days to get back to normal. YMMV.

Thanks. That is what I did eventually, after trying to copy, rename programs, and re-update/edit every line. Perhaps I thought a Save failed before. MY ISY is now so busy with constant battery device writes and there doesn't seem to be a way out of it since it keeps turning itself back on and the scene modifying hits on the battery device now every program line. It would be nice to see this battery write dilemma/logical error fixed.

@Chris Jahn@Michel Kohanim New error for me during v5.3.0 save of a new program. I never found a way out and had to refresh my programs losing many edits. Hasn't done it since.

The internal zip file is too large to unzip. Use a better unzipper like 7-zip that can handle the size.

Unfortunately a two wire dimmer should be easy to manufacture with a small loading resistor and a larger power supply capacitor inside the dimmer, but most manufacturers do not do it. I guess the cost of a $1 capacitor and a $0.10 resistor is prohibitive in this money squeaking industry. There are dummy loads that can be installed behind light fixtures on amazon. Search old posts here for links. They are more expensive than they should be though but with all the USULC etc.. approvals required these days?

IIRC it only works correctly when people were still installing incandescent bulbs and IIRC it was released as one of the early Insteon modules about ten years ago.

v5.2.0 is right for everybody. Beta does not mean unstable firmware. It means there may be some quirks in the device handlers for newer devices, like Zwave devices. If you would like to expand into Ethernet/WiFi devices using polyglot, or use decimal variables, you will need V5. Make a good backup before and after and you can always return to v4. The upgrade is free.

As I posted before, the DHCP table is not related. The size of the WiFi, SSID count, or number of router or access points is not related either. Only the size of the memory space in the one router containing the DHCP server is important. I found not all devices were listed in the "Connected devices" listing of the DHCP router and they would change total counts occasionally, as devices took turns having a connection and then failing. Usually it was devices that didn't affect me much. Until it was my ISY994 and my polisy once I didn't spend much time on it. Power cycling the house gave me different devices connected each time, depending on what devices booted up last.
