  1. I tried to figure this out by looking at some other threads after searching, but it still isn't clear to me what config I need. It is a 3-way circuit. 2 switches. In the fixture box I have 2 pieces of romex. Black, white and red conductors. Red ties to other red. White from wire one ties to black of wire two and then the remaining black and white (one from each wire) go to light fixture. I tried to see if I could get the micro in the switch box, but there is another switch in there and five pieces of romex...no room at all left in that box so not an option. Is this possible?
  2. Well sensitive is good for this application so it sounds good to me! I'll pick one up and try it out. Thanks for the quick responses.
  3. I want to use a motion sensor in my upstairs hallway to turn on a light if someone comes out of the bedroom and it is too dark to see. I have a DSC alarm and a BV-500 I was planning on using to do this. However I have no way of telling if it is dark enough to warrant turning the light on in this scenario. If I were to use the insteon motion it says it has the ability to work only when dark which sounds great, but the layout would prove difficult I think. I have bedrooms at opposite ends of the hall and don't see how one sensor could cover it unless maybe it could while pointed straight down. Anybody have experience using the insteon motion pointed straight down?

    Phone Apps

    Does look pretty good.
  5. I guess I need to look into the 8 button keypad to learn more about it. Could the buttons used for the lights still dim though? As long as the micro module and the lamplincs are dimmers I assume?
  6. I'm new to insteon and only have a few items going right now. Not much experience with all the different insteon products yet. Looking to do the lighting in a room and I can't see a simple way how to do it. What I have now is a large room with two ceiling fixtures that I'll call North and South and two plug in lamps which sit on either side of a tv. The two ceiling fixtures are controlled by a single switch and I can't separate them without ripping out drywall ceilings so not happening. What I want to do is to replace the South ceiling fixture with a fan, but be able to turn off the North light and leave the fan on. On top of that I would like to be able to dim the plug in lamps together. A single lamplinc dimmer could be used for both plug in lamps, but how to control from a wall switch? I can't be using a phone/tablet here. Has to be wall switch. I may be able to add a gang to put an extra switchlinc even if it has no load connected to it...I'd have to do some investigating to figure that out. So any advice on how you would solve my lighting dilemma?
