  1. Okay cool glad to see someone has already done this with the ISY. I guess my first question would be how to integrate... Is it similar to what is shown in this link? https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i_Series_INSTEON:Networking:Mobile_Notification
  2. In case you aren't familiar here is the link so you can check it out: https://joaoapps.com/join/ I need to do something different and have been looking into alternatives. I see lots of people like pushover, but I think join looks like it would be more flexible for my situation. Just wondering if anyone has tried it with the ISY. Searching for join or notifications gives a ton of results that don't apply so I thought I would ask. Thanks
  3. The dongle is the zwave card in the isy.
  4. Just scanned through so I may have missed it, but did you ever do a Heal? After installing new zwave devices put them where you will leave them and then do a heal so they can decide who talks to who for what and when. After that you will have a mesh...not until. I would suggest doing the whole move the isy close to the door thing again for the inclusion of the door lock before the Heal though. I set mine on the isy when I did them because a few feet wasn't enough the first time I did it. Of course if you don't want to remove it from the door the only alternative is move the isy.
  5. Good grief... I'm late to the show and even though they are gracious enough to invite me paypal says things arent working at the moment so I can't even pay the invoice. Looks like I'll have plenty to catch up on once I get this sorted.
  6. I would like to see the answer to this as I have thought about doing the same thing. Hopefully someone who has done this can chime in.
  7. Well I did make sure to wait for the beep to stop and tonight I took a few mins to test with another load (incandescent bulb) and no luck. The load is full on no matter what the switch (and I did double check it is a dimmer...good point on that one!!) says on the lights.
  8. I did try the factory reset already and I never even added it to my ISY. I'll try to bench it tomorrow if I can carve out a few mins to do so.
  9. The load is what I asked about in this thread: I have six of these super thin lights and one philips https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/046677433147/slimstyle-a19 The extra philips in the circuit made the strobe effect go away. I have the same exact setup, but with four of the super thin fixtures and it works fine with the Insteon 2477D. Right now I have an Inovelli NZW31 Dimmer controlling the six plus one circuit and it is fine. Acts the same as the one with four plus one. Would rather have the 2477D though. Look and feel consistency and all. I'll have to try to bench test it with a single bulb and see what happens.
  10. I can't imagine how this isn't broken, but sometimes there are tricks to these things so I figured I'd ask. Bought a new dual band insteon dimmer (2 actually, but one works fine) and when hooked up it comes on full, but won't dim or even turn off. I tried factory reset and that didn't change anything. The lights on the side go up and down as I hold the paddle to dim or turn on and off, but the light never goes off or changes brightness. Any thoughts? Thanks
  11. You may get more responses in the zwave forum: https://forum.universal-devices.com/forum/102-isy994-z-wave/
  12. What is your minimum run time set to?
  13. I have a very similar issue. Don't mean to hijack here, but maybe we can both learn something new. So in mine I aldo have an 8 button and a light (fanlinc light if it matters) controlled by button A. Now if I hit button A it will light up and the light turns on. My problem is if something else turns the light on the A button won't light up. I have a scene with the light and the button in it, but the button is a controller. I can't figure out if there is a way to change it. If there is I haven't found it.
  14. Well granted it has been a few years since my time in the trenches, but it very much was a requirement when I worked for cable companies. Management was all over the field techs to make sure things were up to par for fear of FCC fines. Regardless of any laws the HFC network requires power to operate (as you notice when an outage occurs) and they do have battery backup in place when the plant is built. This is for all customers because they really can't separate out those who don't subscribe to VOIP. In your case the batteries are likely in need of replacement or the charger needs maintenance or both. Complaining could get it fixed for you.
  15. What type of ISP do you have? Both cable and DSL should have uptime for a least a while during an outage. Should be a couple hours minimum. If I were you I'd complain to the company. They are obligated to keep the batteries up due to the fact that people must maintain a way to call 911 and even cable companies are providing phone service these days. As for the power on or off I use the apc ups method and get an email to text to let me know if power goes out or comes back on. I don't know how ISY could tell though. I don't think you can send email to ISY. I plan to switch to a relay and hook it to my alarm panel which ISY can see thanks to IO guy and nodelink.
  16. Well I was trying to go zwave out there so I can put a zwave lock on the man door to the garage and I'll need a repeater for it. For now I've put exactly what you suggested. An insteon outdoor plugin on off module. It works fine at 25F. I'll have to check next week when the forcast temps are to be below zero. Still would like to find a way to get the zwave lock working out there though. I wonder if the GE outdoor mudule can do beaming? I'll have to look into that.
  17. Well I haven't moved it inside yet, but it worked fine until the temps here hit the 20's Fahrenheit. I'll try to warm it up a bit and see what happens.
  18. I have a light in my non heated detached garage that is controlled by a dragon tech pa100. Since the temp dropped below freezing a few days ago it won't work anymore. I can physically hit the button on it and it works fine, but it won't switch on remotely. Anyone have any plugin on off or even outlets or switches that they have used successfully in non heated areas in below freezing temps? Thanks
  19. Okay I finally had time to try this during daylight hours today and it seems to work ok. I wasn't aware of the parentheses. It did take me a few tries to get them in the correct order, but it worked. Thanks much for the help!
  20. I have been trying to get this program to work for a bit and it seems to work for one door, but not the other. Or maybe not both at the same time. I'm not the best with this type of logic. So I'll post it here and hope someone better at this can see why it isn't working for me. DwayLightAfter Sunset - [ID 0025][Parent 0001] If From Sunset + 15 minutes To Sunrise + 15 minutes (next day) And 'Outside / DetachGarageNorthDoor' Status is Open Or 'Outside / DetachGarageSouthDoor' Status is Open Then Set 'Outside / DetachDrivewayLight' On Else Wait 10 minutes and 20 seconds Set 'Outside / DetachDrivewayLight' Off any thoughts? Thanks for looking.
  21. As I understand it the non toggle functions as an on or off switch only. I don't currently use it, but I do have a button that is just for turning stuff off. I think it just depends on your use case.
  22. Well I took out and added new batteries and then put the old ones back in and it finally worked. I guess the key was the <= since it likely never reported the exact number of 40%. Thanks to all who chimed in!
  23. Ok. Now I'm following. I guess I'll have to wait it out to see if the less than or equal change made the difference. Thanks for the explanation guys!
  24. Even though I have the program looking for less than or equal to 40% and the ISY can see the battery at 30%?
  25. This seems like a simple thing, but I can't get it to work. Running 5.0.2. Kwikset lock. I DO get notified when I enter a certain pin on this lock, but for some reason the battery level doesn't work for me. I tried: IF Status (old) lock = 40% battery level THEN send notification to me ELSE nothing I tested the notification and it works fine and I get lots of others from ISY. No issue there. So I figured that maybe the ISY never sees the exact number of 40% and changed it to <=40% Saved the program and waited. Nothing. I queried the lock. ISY says it is locked and at 30% battery. So Am I missing something or?? Any thoughts? Thanks
