Can't turn a scene off after V3 upgrade
Benoit, No, that doesn't work. When I try to add an action for a scene I get a screen showing "Alexa will turn on (scene name) to 50% brightness", with an "ADD" button below - but no slider or option of any kind to change the % brightness of the scene. John

how to renew portal subscription
OK; found it somewhat buried in the wiki. For others: Portal, select tool, information, ISY portal access license. A bit of a panic when I couldn't get Alexa to do anything anymore, but we're friends again now! John

how to renew portal subscription
How does one renew a portal subscription? Mine just expired, and now of course Alexa can't control anything. Help! John

Can't turn a scene off after V3 upgrade
Michel, I'm running into exactly the same problem as Craig: when I try to add a scene action to a routine the app shows "Alexa will turn on (scene name) to 50% brightness" , with an "add" button below. All I want to do is turn the scene off. I haven't done as extensive experimentation as he has, nor did I try this with V2; however I get this same behavior with all scenes and regardless of whether I have first turned the scene on in the routine (i.e. I added the scene to the routine "at 50% brightness, then tried to add another action to the same routine, this time to turn the scene off. No luck). ISY firmware and UI are both v5.0.14 John

How to link 2843-222R open/close door sensor?
I have a similar question (and I also made the same mistake of not recognizing the Insteon address inside the case when I put in the battery). The "closed" device/node never shows any status, nor changes in status when the sensor is manually opened and closed (the "opened" device/node does respond appropriately). In a test program I can add an if statement including control or status for the "closed" device/node (and a "then" statement to turn on a nearby light) (and I did both enable the program and save it) but get no response of the light to manually opening and closing the sensor. The light responds correctly if the "if" statement references the "opened" device/node The "heartbeat" node does show up as on after ~24 hours.

adding Open/Closer sensor #2843-222
Duh. That's embarrassing. I'm not sure how I could have opened the sensor to insert the battery and missed the Insteon address label right next to the battery contacts. Clearly, it wouldn't make sense to put the label on the bottom of the sensor, like most Insteon devices, because the first use of the double-stick tape on the sensor would cover and/or obliterate the label. Thanks Paul

adding Open/Closer sensor #2843-222
I purchased a number of Insteon sensors during Smarthome's recent sale but I'm having trouble, or missing something, with the Open/Close sensors, model 2843-222: They don't have a six digit Insteon ID address label on the bottom (none of the three sensors I bought). So when I try to add them in the AI, I don't have an address to put in. I open the "new Insteon/A10/X10 device" window, put in a name, choose the correct device type from the pull down list, put the sensor in communication mode (green LED flashing slowly) and then hit "OK". The window disappears and nothing more happens. No updating devices/links window, the ready/busy flag in the lower left corner of the AI remains green/ready, and I can't find the device added to the list anywhere in the device/scene tree. What am I doing wrong or missing? I thought all Insteon devices had to have a six digit address? Thanks, John

Notify Me (Alex skill) Beta Test
Nicely done sir. Very clear setup instructions. I can imagine lots of uses for this (first one will be tying the leak detection programs to a verbal notification......). I did leave a positive review on the Alexa skill page,
