  1. I had this same issue when I jumped to Windows 10. You need to install Java for Windows before any of those instructions work.
  2. It looks like we may have other options with Sonos shortly: https://mobilesyrup.com/2018/08/29/sonos-new-amp-hardware-opens-developer-platform-september/
  3. My intercom worked fine without any iOS or Android apps needed, but is now broken since switching my account over to Amazon.ca
  4. I had my ISY in my old house communicating back to my meter (~40ft) and then to my new shop panel (~200ft) which then fed my new house (~75ft). All worked well controlling Insteon switches in new house without any signal bridges.
  5. I think we are dreaming of any sort of Insteon support but I would've taken built in Z-Wave. The choice of Zigbee was surprising.

I am thinking the same thing that maybe I should have just bought the Ecobee3. The 4 might be OK for others just starting out without any other Echos in the house?
  7. Outlander posted a topic in Amazon Echo
Anybody using the Ecobee 4 yet with other Echos? I notice that it will respond at the same time as other Echo Dots nearby. I believe this was the same issue people were having when the Echos were first released?
  8. They must have fixed something because it wasn't working earlier and now all of a sudden my error has gone away and all my devices have imported. Thanks
  9. I don't really want to redo all my Echo controls but may be worth a try if I can get this to work. I was thinking the same thing about some sort of limitation since it was just released in Canada.
  10. I am also in Canada and received my Google home Monday and have 35 devices working properly with my Amazon Echo/Dots. Tried adding the Universal Devices Home Control and I get "Something Went Wrong, Please Try Again" It doesn't matter how many times I "Try Again" it still doesn't work and have no idea what the actual problem is. I was wondering the same as you that maybe I have too many devices?
  11. I have the Sony Dash and thought the Echo Show looked very similar. I was unaware that Sony is shutting these off so maybe I should be looking at ordering a couple Shows. If only they were supported properly in Canada.
  12. I just tried mine this morning on my older Echo with my Canadian address and on the newer Dots with a US address. Both work with timers and reminders as expected.
  13. I just tried this and it responded correctly for me, but I have the Insteon thermostat and it is reporting in Celsius.
  14. Any progress on this as I am also trying to eliminate my NAS. It appears that if my external drive goes into sleep mode or power stand-by, the first time an announcement is triggered, it does not make the queue before the "play" command. Adding a large wait command may help but is not the proper solution. Each additional trigger works perfectly once the drive is awake.
  15. I did manage to get this working and it was easier than I had thought. No problems with permissions as I copied the file to the "Public" section on a WD My Book Live. The only hiccup I had was that I had to tell Sonos to "Play" with another network resource after the file loaded into the queue. I will test and experiment more with this later. Thanks again for your help on this.
