  1. I unplugged all my Christmas Lamp/ApplianceLincs after Christmas, but continued to use the scene to control other lights in the group. Today I plugged them all in again to remove them from my Christmas Lights scene. When I opened the admin console, ISY said they couldn't be found (Note that I had previously opened the Admin console when they were unplugged... it's like it memoried that they had been unplugged). I tried turning the scene on & off repeatedly, ISY reported that only 1 of the 5 were responding every time I turned it on. If I turned on a device individually, ISY said it was responding okay - and from that point on, ISY displayed that device also responded in the scene. This was the case with each device - once turned on individually, then ISY said it was working in the scene. Unfortunately... I had them all stacked back-to-back with nothing plugged into them, so I can't say if they really were responding or not, but it sounds similar enough to the group response issue, I thought it was worth mentioning.
  2. I just got several new SwitchLincs - is there something I should know before I install the rest of them?
  3. Hi Michael - I'm referring to turning on devices with My Lighting (and I use HomeSeer to control the ISY via phone, Internet, touch screen, scripts, voice control, remotes, etc - so I use the ISY frequently) When ISY turns on a device, it turns it on using the ramp rate of whatever ISY scene you last ran. My "bedtime" scene will slowly turn off all my lights to allow time to get to the bedroom and climb in bed - but whenever ISY attempts to control any lights in My Lighting after running this scene, it will take a very long time to ramp-On any light. You have a "Locally Applied" on-level and ramp rate for each device when controlled at the switch. What if you had a ramp rate/on-level setting for each device when controlled by My Lighting? Those values would actually be the values of a scene. When you turn a device on in My Lighting, ISY would actually turn on the scene instead, so the device always turns on with the programmed on-level and ramp rate, rather than some random ramp rate based on whatever scene last ran. Just a thought...
  4. Never knowing what ramp rate you'll get when turning things on & off drives me crazy - so let me propose a possible solution... What if when creating a device in the ISY, it creates a "default scene" for the device in the background (transparent to the user). This scene would always have the same ramp-rate & on-level as the device (synchronized). When you tell ISY to turn a device on/off, it would actually call this default scene instead, thus guaranteeing the device turns on with the expected ramp rate.
  5. Is it normal that every time ISY turns on a light, it ignores it's default ramp-rate and instead uses the ramp rate of the last-used scene for that light ? For example, I have a light set to ramp on at 0.1 seconds. I run a sunset scene that fades this light off over a period of 9 minutes - so from then on, whenever the ISY tries to turn the light on or off, it takes 9 minutes. If I run another scene that fades the light on in 2 seconds, it will from then on turn on/off in 2 seconds. Is this normal operation for Insteon? Is there a work-around other than creating a "default" scene for every device and setting it the same as the default ramp-rate of each device?
  6. Hi Eric / Michael - Yes, I reinstalled 2.6.13, cleared cache, and recreated the group several times & restored the devices, but with the same results. I reverted to 2.6.11 and now I can create new groups and adjust the ramp/on levels with no problem - EXCEPT for any groups created under 2.6.13. Hopefully I'll have better luck with V 2.6.14? Now all my New Years guests will be in total amazement as my ISY flashes the lights on & off to ring in the new year. I only wish I had this for Y2K!!! lol This board, and UD, has amazing support. Thank you again, and happy new year! Update: I reinstalled version 11, 12, and then 13 and now everything is working normally!
  7. So is everyone else able to create a group and adjust the level & ramp rates with this version? I can adjust "old" groups just fine, but any newly created group only allows maybe 2 of 10 lamp modules/switches to be changed without a Failed message.
  8. That would be the problem then! I got the link from a post. I "assumed" that since the version numbers were the same that they were the same version. Thanks for the info, that makes me feel better (worrying about the ISY going corrupt).
  9. Okay - I reinstalled 2.6.13 & cleared Java Cache, and was able to set the "i1 Only" option. I am still unable to change ramp rate or on levels ... hum. I also tried doing a restore device again with the new 2.6.13 install, but no change. ISY can control the device(s) okay otherwise. FYI - I am now switching Advanced Options back to 'Automatic'.
  10. Ugh, yes, I was trying to install the wrong update. At least we know it won't accidently install! Thanks!! I've reinstalled, and now have Advanced Options.
  11. Well Jim, you're not the first to tell me I'm missing something, but under "Help, About" it says "...Insteon_UD99 v.2.6.13". My Link Management does not show what yours does though. I tried downloading 2.6.13 again from http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip and "Manually Upgrade My Lighting", but it says, "Upgrade Failed: Invalid or incompatible upgrade file"
  12. Please do be kind enough to try the following: 1. On the devices that fail, please right mouse click and choose Restore Device. Still shows "Request Failed" although it restored fine and the device shows it's being controled by the scene. If this does not work, please: 2. Go to Link Management -> Advanced Options -> i1 Only ??? I don't have that option. Under Link Management (V2.6.13), I have: Start Linking Link a ControLinc Link a RemoteLinc Add button to IRLinc Add sensor to EZSnSRF Add X10 Device to EZX10RF New Insteon Device New Scene
  13. I tried to create a scene/group in this version, and it will not let me make any changes (defaults to 9 minute ramp with 0% on level and other misc. values). If I attempt to make a change, it says, "Request Failed". If I try to change the same light in a scene I created in another version, it changes just fine. I've tried deleting and recreating several times and also tried "Apply changes to all devices", which also fails (multiple times). I do have 1 light in the group that will allow changes... I have no idea what's different. I was going to blink lights on & off at midnight - but I guess not now. lol
  14. I had the same issue with one of my KeyPadLincs. To resolve, I right-clicked the device in the ISY "My Lighting" tree and selected "Restore Device". I don't think it programmed correctly when I first added it to the ISY.
