  1. @joembzJosef, Certainly understand the frustration and the rant ; we all need to vent sometimes. I guess I look at the diy home automation a bit different. We are using a beta product with the matter board (it's in the name) and therefore we are taking on a contract to help develop it beyond beta. Part of us getting a product early is that we are taking on some responsibility to work it out. I was "easily impressed" as I got my system back with my 30 or so z-waves in a state I could work with. btw: : I have about 60 Insteons, 30-zwave, & 20 YoLink, as well as home-made esp8266/32s going. I KNOW this will not work out of the box; part of the fun is the ride IF your partner is working with you. UD is a really good partner. I have taken this ride with others (Eufy I'm looking at you) and have not had fun. So, I know I look at this different but I do think UD is a good partner and deserves encouragement, and good data from us as we take this product from Beta to full production. Stephen
  2. Looks like it. I think as long as people have a list of things to try we can get everyone through this. No doubt by deleting I reset something ; maybe didn't need to change slots. Thanks again for your updates. Today I have been into my z-wave migration so it was good to have a base system which was working as before.
  3. Just spent the morning with my Zen77 switches. I only have two which I bought during the Insteon scare & have hated them. Post migration I am able to use them in scenes and use their scene or fast-up/down features just like Insteon. They are not as fast as I am using them as responders or controllers in programs but they are now useable. The range on the eisy is a tonne better than the old zooz usb. Now moving onto my other z-wave devices - mostly moisture & temperature. I have one motion sensor in a box. Already documented my one issue with the GE switch/motion device which it looks like others have the same issue.
  4. Great job @Chris Jahn and @Michel Kohanim ! The migration went flawlessly! (had moved from my Polisy to Eisy a while ago, now moved from the zooz to the usb "matter" device. I am now "cleaning up" my 30 or so devices. At first blush they mostly showed up in one of two categories. Either "normal" or "disabled". My first one I started to play with because its in the same room as my eisy and its a wall switch which is in high use. Its a GE ZW 500 series with switch and motion sensor. I needed to enable it and then did a z-wave replace. A few of the garbage nodes went away and it replaced with good switch, motion, scene responder, switch all, basic assoc. My only issue is the motion node does not update even after the replace. .....more info to come, but thanks to the whole team!! btw: : LOVED the hint to tail the log file & have been enjoying the x-ray feature. Those are real informative.
  5. @Javi so I deleted the node server &. installed it in another slot. All 34 nodes came back. Solved. Thanks again!
  6. @Javi I did do that the first time (had to do it with all my ns coming over). I just did it again. Also have done both a restart of pg3x and then a restart of whole eisy. Same error with the issue. I don't have much in the way of programming for this ns so I am ok to delete and install in a different spot or anything else to "play" with it. Let me know ; I'll leave it stopped for now.
  7. updated to new version and restarted pg3x, similar error (might be different line number) OpenSprinkler_1-9-2023_34256-PM.zip
  8. Most of my node servers came across from my POLISY to the EISY except for two ; one of them being OpenSprinkler. In the logs it seems to be having a sslv3 alert handshake failure. Logs attached. Also the restore from backup did not bring back the configuration on this node server and two others. Most did. OpenSprinkler_1-9-2023_104107-AM.zip
  9. As others mentioned this did work but required an extra reboot from the admin to get it it work. I watched in htop on ssh the install process. just to note this only installed my free node servers, it did nothing with my purchased node servers @bpwwer is this the expected result? I know I need to purchase again these servers but wasn't sure if they would install in either a trial or 'out of service' status.

  11. I agree @Bumbershootbut if my memory serves me all of these products are actually a month or so late. So the UD team may not be into S&M as much as reality may indicate. As others have said, I do hope the UD team hear loud and clear our appreciation and support. There will always be some expressing negativity at every glitch to which I would respond they need to wait a month or two. If you buy early you have to know you will get a bit of a ride. happy New Year UD & the forum regulars!
  12. Paid node servers are connected to the unit you paid for them on. From what I am hearing you can either purchase again or through a manual process (a ticket I believe with the old UUID and the new UUID) you can transfer your nodes over. You will lose the ability to use them on the old unit. I am personally buying the nodes again for two reasons. One, I want to use my POLISY & EISY together. Two I want to support fellow developers for UD and UD.
  13. I am not seeing SSH blocked at this point with 5.5.2 ; I really hope it will not be as I use it a fair bit. Static IP I handle with my router. Are others unable to SSH ?
  14. I also had to do the re-install with each of my ten node servers.
  15. Mine was "out for delivery" @6:30 this morning! woo-hoo early Christmas present! thanks to the UD team & especially @Michel Kohanim , You and your team have worked WAY too much the week before Christmas! PLEASE take some time off and enjoy your family and friends and recharge for the new year.
  16. I am on 5.5 with a Zmatter installed but still using my zooz. No issues at all once upgraded. Upgrade process had the one glitch with the upgrade of the pkg package needed. All my z-waves are working as fine as they ever did, which is just OK. Z-wave still sucks compared to Insteon & YoLink.
  17. I bet you are!! woohooo!!!! Very very exciting! (As long as one of the few was mine) Emacs forever! cheers, stephen
  18. @Michel Kohanim Did you just start a VI/Emacs holy war on this Forum ?!!? I LOVE the key bindings & hate modal. We may need a new topic in the Coffee section....
  19. Its likely locked up in the update process which has plagued many. Here is a link to the solution from @Michel Kohanim
  20. don't forget Emacs for those of us hard core & over 50 ! (I installed it on the Polisy a while ago)
  21. I would try to update pkg with sudo pkg update sudo pkg upgrade pkg sudo reboot -r then bring up the AC and hit the update package button
  22. Amazing how you know something and then forget it. Thanks for the remind! I'll do that now.
  23. often thought of that for my Insteon devices; never did; I'm impressed.
  24. so in simplified form the only thing holding up the udi script is the update to pkg (caveat: In my case) so just doing a sudo pkg update , then a , sudo pkg upgrade pkg , then a, push of the Update Packages button in the AC will do the trick.
  25. Tried to do the Update Packages method & watched the process with HTOP. No where did pkg update from 1.18.4 to 1.19.0 & the process slowed down to a lock another fun way to watch is to do a tail on the messages tail -f /var/log/messages | bzgrep pkg anyway I had to eventually do an update of pkg then hit the Update Packages again. NO WHERE did the POLISY lock up which is a testament to the choice to use BSD anyway I am hearing happy beeps right as I type this maybe the update script should do an update of pkg before it goes into the rest of the udi update?
