  1. That's great - would you share your spokens and how you avoid Alexa's "found several devices with the sane name" issue? Cheers, Alex
  2. But you are setting it as a device this way, not a scene.. Which doesn't update your KPL.. Cheers, Alex
  3. Guys, please share your successful use of spokens when it comes to control the scenes relates to Off, Low, Medium, High of the FanLinc please Cheers, Alex
  4. You really need to post this on the Amazon forums if you want real answer. Should you get anything meaningful from them, please post it here.. Cheers, Alex
  5. I know that but Amazon says they would not share the Prime music, just books, apps and prime video. Cheers, Alex
  6. Sadly tho the Amazon accounts must all be premium if one wants Prime music on all Echos Amazon should have allowed sharing Prime Music for household accounts Cheers, Alex
  7. I have one Echo called Alexa and two Dots called Echo (in different rooms) Haven't had confusion with my name yet tho.. As for the push notifications they have been greatly discussed in Alexa forums and asked for a lot.. Amazon has certain security concerns for implementing push notifications in the API.. I am not I see them since I know what skill I am enabling, so spacing ones won't fly.. But what do I know.. It's good idea to fit me and more requests for that to be sent to Amazon.. Cheers, Alex
  8. You can say Alexa, what's in my schedule.. But that's pretty much it.. It is sad it doesn't give voice reminders.. Cheers, Alex
  9. Yes, please remove that warning, it is very confusing! Cheers, Alex
  10. THANK YOU Barry! I really hope that's get mended somehow and soon. Cheers, Alex
  11. So, if I have one Echo and two Dots (all in different rooms) and want when I say "turn lights on" each of them to respond by turning the respective lights in that room - I actually need 3 separate AMAZON accounts? And if that's the case does it mean all 3 must be Prime (if I want Amazon Prime music in each room?) That would be crazy expensive.. Or there is a way to share one Prime account? When I receive my dogs, before I even took them out of their boxes, I saw them in my Amazon app already under that a me Prime account.. So all e go devices can be under one account.. So then in case I do require 3 Amazon accounts that means that each ISY Portal account requires to connect to a separate Amazon account instead of separate Echo device (which I would think makes sense)? Cheers, Alex
  12. Adjustments In Celsius should be by half degree, one us too much, harsh change. Cheers, Alex
  13. It has nothing to do with ISY not the Portal.. It seams to me your "spoken names" are too complicated and long. Be creative and make them short. You don't have to put "scene" in the spoken g for scene.. As an example only, instead of spoken "scene living room lamp 2" come up with something short. Again just as example put spoken "big lamp". Then you just say "Alexa turn on the big lamp". I had to go through this exercise my self and simplify all my spokens.. Cheers, Alex
  14. The only reason to use the old skill is if you currently have thermostats. The new version of the Home Skill will also support them but hasn't been approved yet. Otherwise - the Home Skill is always better way then the original Izzy Skill. Cheers, Alex
  15. Could you please elaborate on this? Are you talking about RTI controller like URTIS II or just Somfy Single Channel RTS Dry Contact Interface? Cheers, Alex
  16. The network module allows you to send commands to anything with http interface. There are a lot of devices that can be operated via the Network module. AV receivers, RGBW strips, IR devices, etc. (many more) For example, I current use it to send commands to my DENON Receiver and control my RGBW lights via the MiLight WiFi Bridge, and soon send IR commands via the iTach IP2IR. With other words, the network module is very useful thing. The 4 main benefits (personally for me) of using the Portal are: Native use of IFTTT; Native use of Alexa; Network Module; and the outside access without having to open holes in your router manually. From what I understand, other things are coming to it as well.. Cheers, Alex
  17. The video is old from when there was only the Skill. What you need to use now is the native Connected Home. With the skill you'll have to say: "Alexa, tell Izzy to turn the lights on", with the Connective Home (what you should use), you say: "Alexa turn the lights on" Cheers, Alex
  18. Don't worry about that list, ⅓ of my spokens are not there and yet I had issues with things that are on it! Just experiment and keep them simple! Cheers, Alex
  19. The list is related to the action words only, like turn on, switch on, which you don't use as part of the spoken. You can name the devices the way you want but keep them simple! And use common sense - don't name your kitchen light Beyonce because "turn on Beyonce" will do something else Avoid similarly sounding words for different devices (like lamps and lights).. The rest is experimenting and fine tunning after. Just remember - after any change in the Portal you need to "discover devices" in the Alexa App. Cheers, Alex
  20. But you had the DHCP in the ISY as a setting - not static IP, correct? If so - this is the issue.. The reservation in the router means this IP will not be given when a device requests a IP from the DHCP server of the router. That allows you to configure that reserved IP as a static IP in the ISY and not worry that that same IP could be served to another device. If ISY was still set to DHCP mode - it requests IP address (fire whatever reason) and the the Router's DCP Server will give it the next available IP from the pool (excluding any reserved ones). This is normal behaviour. So reservation in the DHCP sever is used when you want to use Static IP in the device. This being said - the are some router firmwares that will check the MAC upon request and serve it if matched (the intelligent approach) but this is implementation dependant and not standard behaviour.. Cheers, Alex
  21. Ignore it and start adding spoken to your scenes and /or devices.. Cheers, Alex
  22. I am also unclear on the Wiki because it seems to say that you also need separate Amazon account for separate echos. Amazon does not require that -you can them under the same account, then why the Wiki seams to say I need multiple Amazon accounts? I do understand why need separate ISY Portal accounts.. Currently I have 1 Echo, but waiting on two Dots and only have (and needs and want) only one Amazon Prime account.. Cheers, Alex
  23. Yes, if you need Alexa, IFTTT, and you have the Portal, then you don't need Hub II... Cheers, Alex
  24. You need these two: http://www.smarthome.com/insteon-2982-222-smoke-bridge.html and http://www.smarthome.com/first-alert-sco501cn-3st-onelink-carbon-monoxide-and-smoke-detector-with-voice.html Cheers, Alex
  25. Yeah gotcha. First thing tho, you didn't day the ISY is plugged into the 12V back up system.. If the ISY is off (in case your power goes down as you mentioned) then the is nothing to notify you.. So you need to monitor the 12V output from your generator, maybe use RPi to monitor that and if 12 is gone - set variable in ISY, which will trigger the notification program. OR don't delay in the ISY at all and make the RPi to send the notification directly. Cheers, Alex
