  1. OK, I figured out how to remove, but for some reason the 2334-232 INSTEON REMOTE CONTROL DIMMER KEYPAD, 8-BUTTON - WHITE keeps linking as a 5 scene device
  2. Oh no. My ISY recognized my 8 scene keypad link as a 5 scene device. Didn't even know a 5 scene keypad link device existed. How do I properly remove the device from ISY and start over?

    A quick question

Is there any advantage of linking every device to ISY/PLC? I am thinking there are some devices that are easier to simply connect between the two devices with the set link button or am I better off connecting everything through ISY?
  5. I connected a fanlink and then configured this in ISY Portal. I am able to turn the fan off with "Alexa turn fan off". I dont know what the command to turn the fan on is. The options on Fanlink are Off, Low, Medium and High. Has anyone figured this out?
  6. ok, thanks. that is good to know
  7. OK, that did it. I now have about 20 test scenes that I created when they werent showing up. Thanks.
  8. ISY firmware Insteon_UD994 v.4.4.3 (2016-02-04-10-10:33:45) ISY UI Insteon_UD994 v.4.4.3 (2016-02-04-10-10:33:45) It does not create any scene when any item is selected in any part of the node tree. I tried all Using W7 Ultimate SP1 / Java V8 Update 73 (build 1.8.0_73-b02)
  9. When I first powered up my ISY, it had a Scene called Auto DR. I am not sure what this was for and when I try to delete it, it says "Request Failed" When I try to create a new scene, the Address is "Global" and dimmed. It cannot be edited. I am able to enter a name and when I click "OK", the scene does not appear in my Node Tree. Am I doing something wrong?
  10. yea, that was the problem. Getting the first one written so I can understand what I am doing.
  11. OK, it worked. Thanks!
  12. My portal Integration box says Online, Registered so I will see if it works anyway using the info/URL you provided and see if I can get it to work anyway. Thanks
  13. OK, I went on to the next section and figured out the Outbound Triggers and successfully created an outbound event. I see this is where I use the IFTTT KEY. The inbound is still a little unclear to me.
  14. Setup Instructions - ISY Portal On portal, IFTTT configuration is in Select Tool | Connectivity | IFTTT When I do this it says ISY is not online, however on the main account screen after my UUID the status is Online since Monday, April 11th, 4;01:35 AM Clicking OK to the error does not prevent me from going to the next step. First, you will need to click on "Set Key" to create an IFTTT Key that will be used to authenticate your IFTTT requestsSo I clicked the Set Key and created an inbound key. I assume this gets pasted into IFTTT Maker Channel somewhere. My IFTTT Maker channel also has a KEY, but I am not sure where it goes in ISY Portal. Can someone explain the keys and why I may be getting a not online error?

OK so the latest firmware will have improvements that could potentially be better for me.

Yes, sorry. Previously in this thread I was told it might be best to buy from Smarthome or Amazon to get the latest build. The only reason I mentioned Dell was because that is where I purchased the PLM. It is a Smarthome labeled Insteon PLM.

Yes, I am glad I made the repair. My Dell PLM arrived 2413S V2.2 1611. I will hold onto this for a couple weeks in case my rebuilt unit decides to fail, but I have a feeling it will be fine. Is there any advantage in the V2.2 device now that I have replaced my capacitors?

Well, my repaired PLM seems to be functioning fine now. I have linked one device (which I was unable to do before) and it is still working this morning.

    New to ISY

I finished replacing all 5 capacitors, cleaned up the board and re-assembled. My new PLM still has not arrived so I am going to try and play with this repaired unit.

    New to ISY

Looking at my board C3, C11, C7, C13 and C8 all look fine and will be replaced, however there looks like some strange damage below the speaker and above the daughter board connector in two spots. I am wondering if this is something that indicates a problem. Is theer supposed to be components there taht someone removed after they failed? Not sure if C32 was designed out or if it is missing and there seems to be something going on there and the larger mess to the left of the LED...

OK, I just ordered a bunch of capacitors from Mouser. I have also ordered the Serial PLC from Dell as I recently purchased a IOLink from Dell which also seemed to ship direct from SmartHome. Between the two I should have at least one working unit and hopefully will have learned something along the way. Once getting my system working on the new PLC, my goal will be to switch back to the old PLC after repairing it and keep the latest as a back up or sell it. My mouser order is for the following Qty=10 647-USV1C100MFD USV1C100MFD 16volts 10uF Qty=20 661-EKY50ETD100ME11D EKY-500ETD100ME11D 10uF 50 Volt Qty=10 647-UTT1E101MPD UTT1E101MPD 25volts 100uF Qty=10 80-ESX106M400AH4AA ESX106M400AH4AA 400volts 10uF 20%

OK, I hate buying things twice, but my fault. There is a 2413S http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=&cs=04&sku=A8189375&ST=pla&dgc=ST&cid=298442&lid=5699059&acd=12309152537461010&ven1=A8189375:100955342709:901pdb6671:c&ven2=: and a 2413U https://jet.com/product/pdp/5180014cbf4944bd8fa46210dbc0e8db?jcmp=pla:ggl:gen_electronics_a2:networking_modems_a2_other:na:na:na:na:na:2&code=PLA15&ds_c=gen_electronics_a2&ds_cid&ds_ag=networking_modems_a2_other&product_id=5180014cbf4944bd8fa46210dbc0e8db&product_partition_id=156821262540&gclid=Cj0KEQjwid63BRCswIGqyOubtrUBEiQAvTol0eyOpuluoGVtK4cVZxGvYILvQDtWXx2UncoLl7Aezz0aAmg-8P8HAQ I know you suggested Smarthome, but they are $25 more. I assume it would be the latest hardware given they are from a retailer rather than ebay.
