  1. Also notice that “His Bath” is a trigger in your original program and in one that you enable, correct? Please report back as you said on the enable and also try putting these enable statements at the end and report back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I forget - anyone know? When a program is enabled will it automatically run If? If so, you will be running Else most likely and firing in network resource commands. Edit: Regardless, maybe try putting the enable program commands at the end if that works for your goals and as you mentioned you considered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Great suggestions here. Curious, what are the other programs that you enable here? Can you post them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Typo? That would create an infinite loop during time x with the door open I think, at least if using status. Program 2 should say “closed” not opened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. My understanding of recent GDO photo sensors in the US is that they had some type of signal on them, not just a voltage. Does anyone know if that is or isn’t true? I believe I read it somewhere and know that when idiots try to avoid using them they often stick them eye to eye right above the opener. They can’t just wire them closed or whatever. 6. I agree with you. I rarely use mine (maybe once a year) and then it’s usually to open it for someone when we’re away and then they close it. With our gates and garage and kids, my wife and I call if one of us is out to make sure it’s safe to open. I’m concerned even about a toddler finger in the garage door track when someone opens the garage door. Even the standard remotes can be dangerous because a garage door is dangerous. I suppose a neighbor kid could do a wheelie in the stroller and park it under the door while someone is leaving and they simply using their visor button. There’s no substitute for a human eye. 7. Sounds like you’ve got this set up better than most. Given that newer GDOs allow app control the AHJs must believe that there is a safe way to do this. I think @LarryLix wanted to point out generally and sort of make a PSA that this isn’t always wise and I agree with him. In the rare instances that I do this I do it through Mobilinc with the program associated with a camera so I can see as I do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Scratching head. Can the smart minds here agree somehow and distill this into the wiki (or whatever document / source we’re to follow and keep on our nightstand). And to be blunt, that’s a request to un-F this and make it easy to follow for current and future users. Joking sorta but respectfully that’s a suggested fix [emoji16] Or are we all supposed to parse through this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Such as editing / adding to a post to only add a snarky comment... (on record) Sounds like you’re saying you’re a real charmer in person. Would love to meet you someday. Will leave loved ones at home, lest they succumb to the charm! Better yet, let’s be better. I’ll start, but I won’t stop calling out people that blow out candles to make theirs look brighter. 10. I am being nice. I could’ve referred by name(s). I’m one of the nicest guys around. That doesn’t mean I won’t speak up when I see others that aren’t nice which I will always do in person or online. And if people are upset by that or Greek Mythology or whatever then that’s their problem. Sorry, not sorry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I think it stemmed from a member here that can’t help but to insert himself in a way that is unwanted by some, perhaps many. A suggestion was made that many can see, but the member (“appendage” or similar as he’s been referred to as previously) couldn’t envision it and he got upset since he couldn’t see it. This appendage is ornery and I frankly think does a disservice to UDI and its forum. In his defense though it seems he often says he’s not trying to be ornery. I guess he just can’t stop inserting himself that way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Saw this and was curious. Did you choose that setting? Do you have 999 seconds to see if it works in that timeframe? It’s only 16.65 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. LOL. Sorry but good luck with that. Edit: I had an ant problem. Didn’t occur to me to solve with Insteon or the ISY. Had to find and seal the hole that the gas man left. Cat needs to be kept out somehow if it’s a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Just spitballing ideas ... I might be missing something Why does the 2nd ISY need to integrate directly with security? Convenience, lighting, automation? Or something else - are you using z-wave sensors as security? Can you get the Elk data bus to the 2nd building? Have you considered a hardwired expander M1XIN or Elk wireless whatever flavor in the 2nd building? I believe there are / maybe you’re aware there are ways to “link” ISYs. So have 1 security system connecting the buildings via Elk bus and linked to 1 ISY. Have the 2nd ISY communicate key events via rest and variables to the 1st? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Another idea is to have separate open and close programs since the switch usually acts as a toggle when really you want a specific action. A few years ago I posted this. You don’t need to use an Elk, just revise the programs to your sensor and relay. https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/20760-isy-garage-open-and-close-programs/ Edit: old post that apps like Tapatalk don’t seem to like. Need to open the link in a browser. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Sorry for delay... Hmm [emoji848] I’m also using a Netgear Nighthawk and had problems with DHCP errors. Every 5 seconds... running latest Netgear firmware and ISY 5.0.16B. Glad you’re up and running. You may still have the DHCP errors. The DHCP errors were causing slowness for me on Polisy and Elk and MobiLinc loading locally and remotely. Features that use the network basically. I use VPN not MobiLinc connect or ISY portal. The workaround was to assign the address in my router (been doing for years) and have the ISY set for the same address (recent). I think @LarryLix mentioned he’s using this fix for a different router and maybe different problem? But this isn’t a best practice and would be nice to not need to do this. Can you check the error log to see if these errors occur frequently and persist day after day? If yes then I may try to track down a better fix, although to get somewhere I’d need to prod UDI or Netgear with evidence of more users having same problem. UDI was helpful but I think there was an opinion that something was uniquely wonky with my setup. I suspect we’re not alone and we’re not choosing wonky... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I’m not using MobiLinc portal but I did have similar problems with DHCP errors every 5 seconds... What router? Are you using DHCP reservations in the router? Is ISY set to static IP address or DHCP? Edit: probably also relevant - does this happen on the LAN or is this only through internet WAN and mobilinc portal? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Is it basically another remote that you link to the opener? I’m sure you know people have DIYed that method by buying another remote and soldering leads to the buttons or soldering to the buttons on the wired wall control. Seems well worth $20 if one doesn’t need to hassle with that... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I was gonna say a soldering iron, but @simplextech linked to (what appears to be) a really cool gadget!
  20. Didn’t read everything here but saw “outside wall” - is anything ISY related outside? Another good option is to basically build your own 12v UPS. For example I’m using an Altronix 12v power supply / battery charger with a 12Ah dedicated battery. That way you don’t go DC to AC then back to DC. Lots of options to make your own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Yes had the same problem. Rebooting my iPhone helped. Maybe something on Verizon’s end? Of course several things could go wrong that would prevent a text going through. I’d suggest using a dedicated email address to send alerts and add this account to your phone’s email app. Then you can easily see any undelivered bounce backs and also check the sent folder. Not perfect but better... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. +1 Was going to respond with the same link. Note the Insteon Thermostat problem if that's relevant for you ? While I think the upgrade can be simple, I like the list here. First do a backup and then grab everything you can (screenshots, copy and paste, etc.) from EVERYTHING and EVERY tab in the admin console before you upgrade. Include a copy to clipboard of "my programs" folder before and after, and ideally put them into a spreadsheet or someplace that you can compare syntax verbatim and line by line to find potential problems... https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/26381-upgrade-from-473-to-5015a-task-list/
  23. A guess here - not sure about these locks. Maybe try Program 1: If Locks / ZW Side Door Lock' User Number is 1 Or 'Locks / ZW Side Door Lock' User Number is 2 Then new.state.variable =1 Wait 5 seconds new.state.variable =0 Else Wait 5 seconds new.state.variable =0 Program 2 (your old program replacing the 2nd part with the above variable) If: (Elk Area 'House' 'Armed State' is Armed Away Or Elk Area 'House' 'Armed State' is Armed Stay) AND new.state.variable =1 Then Set Elk Area 'House' Disarm Set 'Kitchen / Kitchen Recessed' On Set 'Thermostats-Home' On Else - No Actions If nothing else by tracking a new state variable you’ll know if the code is sticking in memory as you alluded to which can help with further troubleshooting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Question here for those that use Insteon for security. Are there ways to protect against a power outage (other than standby generator) that would allow signals from the sensors to reliably communicate with the ISY? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I think you guys are talking about different things... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
