like the article someone else linked (The Verge perhaps) points out, hubs will very much be part of our lives for years to come. Those hubs, like hue has already done, will support matter to bring the devices into the ecosystem. That's the first place you'll see it with insteon... in the hub. After some time (a few years probably) you'll start to see more device centric matter. yep i didn't capitalize matter because I don't think it matters, but I'm not anti-matter like some seem to be.

i'd follow the same suggestion and open a ticket... they do usually work tickets on Sunday perhaps slower than other days tho. support@universal-devices.com

If you haven't tried rebooting the ISY try that, but otherwise I agree with open a ticket.
-
You should probably open a ticket, probably be the fastest most expedient path back to life. Michel does answer on Sunday, just not as fast as M-F. support@universal-devices.com

I didn't think that would happan but can now see that it probably would. The problem being that he node server (which I don't have) apparently returns the value "unknown" rather the value actually being unknown, the state before the value is known. In any case I could make it work using a second variable but if you've done something else I won't waste any time fixing it.

As @lilyoyo1 mentions you need to know the version of z-wave board you have. IF you have a z-wave menu at the top of the admin console: use it to check the z-wave version. If 4.55.00 you need 5.0.16C (you mentioned 5.01.16 without a letter, which is possible, there's also an A and possibly a B, but the current release for 994's with a z-wave version of 4.55.00 is 5.0.16C. If there is NOT a z-wave menu, or the z-wave version is 6.81.00 proceed directly to 5.3.4 In either case the upgrade is simple and will only take you a few minutes, no major changes that require manual intervention from your current position. When you get back in after the upgrade make sure to check Help > About and make certain that firmware and UI versions match EXACTLY.

As of the time of posting this message, Alexa is correctly controlling my devices via ISY. Can't think of any times I've used voice commands this morning but it was also working correctly last evening.

@GQuack As an afterthought, it's also important to understand that "Adjust Scene" adjusts the configuration of the scene, it does not adjust the current state of the scene. So if "adjusting" a scene that's currently on, nothing will appear to happen (i.e. the current state doesn't change).... but the next time Scene On is sent then the new configuration will be used.

@Blackbird you have unwritten device setup instructions pending from the ISY. Note the "1101" icon to the left of the node name in the device indicting this. The solution as mentioned in @larryllix's cryptic post is to put the device in linking mode and then right clicking the device and choosing "write updates to device". After the instructions are written to the device the "1011" icon will go away. This applies primarily to battery devices (however in unusual circumstances it's possible to see 1011 on any node).

That's essentially what my example (and @Bumbershoot's is doing). Mine shows and offset of 4min 44seconds because I break up what happens at Sunset/Sunrise somewhat, there's a different program that runs at sunset and sunrise that generates a lot of Insteon traffic. Be sure if scheduling Sunset to Sunrise, that you set "next day" on the sunrise. Sunset will run THEN, and Sunrise(next day) will run Else.

you may have a minimized or one pixel sized admin console. Try these instructions to delete the .state files.
-
Windows or Mac? It appears you're using admin.jnlp to open the admin console, that might be the best answer for Mac, but if using Windows, please clear the java cache again and switch to the ISY Launcher. (many Mac users also have no problem using the ISY Launcher, however some must use admin.jnlp)

@GQuack Insteon Scene's don't actually have a DIM value. This is actually a really complicated and confusing topic because some scene controllers can send Dim and Bright commands to scene members. Adding further confusion to the issue, some mobile interfaces have "calculated" values for a scene on percentage. However in raw form there is no such thing as a scene percentage for Insteon scenes. The reason the play button allows you to set a scene dim value is that for other scene types, for example "command" where the ISY is acting a "coordinator" such a setting should work (I haven't tried). Typically this type of scene would be used for z-wave switches, and "the popcorn effect" will be present. What can you do instead with Insteon Scenes? Use "Adjust Scene". Guest Bathroom light level - [ID 018A][Parent 0034] If From Sunset + 4 minutes and 44 seconds To Sunrise - 4 minutes and 44 seconds (next day) Then In 'Door Switches / Guest Bathroom - Door Open / Guest Bathroom - Door Closed' Set 'Guest Bathroom Vanity Light#' To 15% in 0.1 seconds, No retries Else In 'Door Switches / Guest Bathroom - Door Open / Guest Bathroom - Door Closed' Set 'Guest Bathroom Vanity Light#' To 100% in 2.0 seconds, No retries Was writing at the same time as @Bumbershoot , he beat me to the punch... leaving this because it does have additional "why" information.

@Blackbird to restate what @Geddy said... often people use If Motion is true then turn on the light wait 30 seconds turn off the light The 30 second restarts with each retrigger of motion.
-
Not with a single motion detector.
-
With a single motion sensor I'd use a modification to the @larryllix method and use 2 programs. If Motion is True AND light is off then Turn light on Else (none) If Motion is True AND light is on then Turn light off Else (none) If there's two motion sensors to determine direction of travel it gets more complex.

When IoP version changes I think it does tell you in the admin console. That said to stay abreest of updates its best to follow the Current Release Announcements subforum. (click the link, after the page loads click near the top right, once you've picked the options the indicator will change to .) The Current Release Announcements sub forum has been locked down so that only authorized users can post.... which keeps the emails providing update announcements only.

Have you tried just rebooting? Pull the plug, wait a minute and plug it back in. Or if you can get into the admin console use the reboot button on the config page.
-
@Ross when you press the update packages button just give it plenty of time.. and whatever you do don't interrupt it by pulling the plug unless support tells you to.

those can be recessed so just the cover shows. Then you can do like we do for the breaker box and hang artwork in front of it. I wouldn't think ABS would degrade the signal. On my home assistant box i had to use 3 USB extension cord to get the zigbee dongle away from the Pi. Not sure if it was moving it away and higher or changing the orientation that did the trick it works good tho, the only zigbee device it's driving is on the other side of the house. I thought I was going to have to add a few lightbulbs as zigbee routers(repeaters) but just adding the 3' USB extention cord was enough.
-
There are structured wiring enclosures made of ABS that shouldn’t interfere with radio, such as: Legrand - OnQ ENP3050-NA WiFi Compatible, Electrical Box Structured Media Enclosure, 30 inch, White https://a.co/dakJFt8 is that something like what you had in mind?
-
my bet is you've had IoP since the new hard drive and have just never opened it.
-
@Ross My guess is tthat your IoP is too old to show the button you need. But there's a screenshot guide in case it's there and you missed it. if you don't have that section on the config tab the best thing to do is work with support.
