  1. I don't know why but UDI's portal does not use "spoken" field in the Admin console. All spokens must be entered into your my.isy.io portal account. It sure would be nice if it used the Spoken field.
  2. You'll have 2 completely separate independent Insteon networks. Also unless you already own PLM2 you're going to have trouble finding one to purchase. Smarthome is out of stock and told someone via email the product is being discontinued. A better question to ask is why are you wanting to do this? What roadblocks are you encountering? UDI did say in the same thread that they are working on supporting USB for PLM on ISY on Polisy (not the 994)
  3. There's a bunch of threads, some of which are also outdated because things changed. Do your programs make use of "Adjust Scene"? If so, how extensively? Those statements don't automatically upgrade and require manual intervention. Most of the other one time conversion problems shouldn't effect you, and you said you don't have z-wave-- which can also be a headache when going v4 to v5. In addition to your backup open the programs tab, click on My Programs (or whatever your top root folder is named), then right click and select "Copy Folder to Clipboard", now open Notepad (or any other cheap plain text editor that doesn't want to add pagebreaks, margins etc) and paste the clipboard. Then save. Now you have a text copy of your programs that you can look at. Is your system currently all insteon?

ISY is moving to Polisy. I don't know how soon the 994's will be discontinued or how soon ISY on Polisy will be ready for mass consumption, it's currently in the Alpha testing stage.
  6. With No Z-wave board you should go straight to v5.3.3 (assuming you're on v5.x already the update will be quick and easy, if you are still on V4.x you may need to manually fix certain programs or you may not just depends on how your programs where created). I would always backup just before the update.
  7. The short answer is ISY to Polisy is not ready yet. Alpha test stage. No documentation available outside of the brief mentions in the forum over the past week. They haven't announced what Z-wave interface will be used yet. The Elk Node Server section of the forum would be a better place for questions about that node server.
  8. Actually in another thread we've recently learned that Alexa knows and sometimes cares if the program finished on time. You can avoid the scenario by having Alexa Run Program A and having nothing else in Program A other than Run Program B (then). Program A runs and tells Alexa it's finished after firing off your longer program that's full of waits.
  9. What method are the notifications? If email and you're using UDI's default mail server you likely need to upgrade your firmware. What version are you using? (Admin Console: Help > About) Without finding and linking other threads, the short story is UDI's mail server got spam attacked, it went offline for a period of time back around the start of this year. Finally came back but only works in later firmware versions now. In addition to the above questions does your ISY have a z-wave board? (the answer depends which firmware we suggest you use).
  10. @pmoeller Did you get it worked out?
  11. Black is hot into the switch, Red is the load or fixture.
  12. the switch with the red wire connected is where you want to look.
  13. I agree, it's either wired wrong or the switch is bad. Fix the problem that it won't manually turn on before proceeding with the ISY.
  14. Have you tried factory resetting both devices? Even new they may have garbage in memory. Does the light turn on manually from whichever of the two has the red wire connected to it?
  15. I'd pick option 2. Keep in mind that if you want to take your Insteon when you sell, or if the new owner isn't interested in Home Automation, that you can always leave behind Insteon only (without a controller) in select locations. Just link it all so it works correctly and no controller or other automation is required.
  16. I'm glad you asked them. I've been wondering since you asked the question. My Polisy's are located in a place where I never see them unless I specifically go there to add/change or unpower/repower something. After you asked I looked at the same wiki page expecting the answer to be there, but it really isn't. Other than power tho, I'm not sure I would be confident reading the meaning... if I needed to know because a specific problem was attracting my eye towards them I'd probably email support anyway.
  17. I wondered that too. The answer is so simple... they even have the correct thread.
  18. My thought was that the program is taking to long to finish running, which for some reason Alexa knows. If that's the case, Alexa would see completion of Program A, the only program she knows anything about, meanwhile program B continues toward completion.
  19. @larryllix What happens if Alexa runs program A that does nothing but Run Program B, and Program B is your program above?
  20. Be aware that z-wave signal strength is minimal. If your ISY has a z-wave board and the device is close by it might work, you may also need to add some other devices to build a mesh. If you have an iolinc laying around already that's your path of least resistance at this point.
  21. Lamplinc's don't work like this. In fact, Insteon doesn't work like this, nothing communicates constantly, communication only occurs when control events occur. There is no communication that occurs when a lamplinc (or other insteon device) is plugged or unplugged (loses or gains power). That said, it's possible to write an ISY program that causes the ISY to 'query' the device. If it's not responding, then it doesn't have power. However you should not load your system up with the communication events or you'll be introducing errors and collisions across all devices. Something like every 5 minutes is probably the most often you would want to generate the constant queries. It's a discontinued product but what you really are looking for is SynchoLinc 2423. Don't know if any used or new are available online thru ebay or the like. If you have a Polisy and could run the Kasa nodeserver the KP115 might work, the problem is that it's not yet in the devices known to work with the nodeserver/ISY yet. If your system has any z-wave there are also zwave devices that will sense and report load.
  22. I don't know if you've had luck finding anyone, but if your open to remote assistance just with the programming and what's going on with your ISY you might have more takers. Windows 10 Quick Assist is one method, but can be slow.. if you have the ISY portal that's even better for the person assisting, but you can't watch every keystroke they make. It might not be too difficult to get your system working much better, some programs don't convert well from 4 to 5 once those are fixed and you're upgraded to the latest release 5.3.3 you will probably be in much better shape.

I'm going to argue with that... Our TV remote is bluetooth and work 40-50 feet away. (one Cable box feeds 3 TV, the remote works fine on the 3rd 40-50feet away and thru a wall. Sony claims the range is 30 feet. Wikipedia states 10 meters or 33ft.
  24. @mljenkins Is the green light on the side on? There is a PLM repair thread around here you might want to find. Actually I mention @Brian H in this post as he probably knows the best link to send you to for how to. It's discussed many times and you might read forever trying to find the best information.
