  1. @ Javi, What about showing all my variables in the other selections? That should not be happening. Thanks! I will do what you suggest! That one default group does work BTW.
  2. Today I was adding a notification using the paid for polyglot plugin. I am running two eISY's in two different locations of the state. Both are running IoX 5.8.0 and one has Polyglot 3.2.17 and the other has 3..2.18. I have two notification groups. Default and Everyone. When I go to add my notification in my program, I can only select REMOVED-default. My everyone group does not show up. When I click the arrow icon it toggles between all my variables and the group, (of which only removed-default one shows up). Click the sound arrow icon and I get sounds, another click on the arrow and my variables show. Go down to Content and and opens a drop down with my content and another click opf the right pointing arrow shows all of my variables. This is really off behavior! It's been a while since I have changed/added anything. How can I fix this or at least get my second group, everyone. Thanks for any help! John
  3. Thanks Geddy. I assumed as much... but it's the activate, install, buttons had me pretty confused. Wish things could be a tad more clear at times. Kinda scare me! John
  4. After updating polyglot to 3.2.13 today I was poking around and reminded myself again that the polyglot store and purchased node servers is confusing. I purchased the notifications module and thought I installed it correctly after UD Mobile installed the free version. Notifications works very well via UD Mobile. When I view Plugin Purchases, it shows four Notification plugins. Two (2) are beta versions which I am not that bleeding edge to play with and two (2) are production. The two production versions I can re-install. Why... should it not state which one is in fact installed with a second button to reinstall if necesary? Next, when I go to the store and click on Notifiction I get install options. It tells me to Activate the free for one month version or Install the $15 version, (which I thought I had done after I purchased it, and then I can Install the Free version. On this screen shouldn't it state that the $15 version is installed? One thing it does show Installed Slot 1, but should I Click Install again? SO my question is, how do I know what version I have installed on my eISY? It works with UD Mobile great and the only option I have in eISY is UD Mobile. Do I need to install it again? reinstall one of the other versions I purchased? Argh... just confusing and shold be to even the experiences ones of us. Thanks for your help! John
  5. Oh my!! I am always feeling like a total idiot! I swear I went to my portal, did the web thing... Never saw Logs, there as big as life. Sorry and thanks! John
  6. For some reason I thought I could view my eISY Log files from UD Mobile. I could not find where such would be located and obviously this is not an option... or is it? Can the log files be viewed via UD Mobile? It would have been very helpful being out of town to not have to log in to the iOX Finder since my laptop wasn't with me. Would be a great option. John
  7. I am using an Insteon 2342-2 eight button keypad in our kitchen as my wife loves being able to turn on lights over the sink, under the counters and etc. One thing that bugs her is, when she turns a light on with the wireless keypad and then someone turns it off via the Insteon wall switch (keypad), the status of that button is always ON. This means that she has to push the uotton twice to turn the light back on. SInce the status of the remote button is on, even though the light is off via the other controller, the first button press sets the status as OFF then the 2nd button press sets the button ON and the light turns on as it should. There is nothing in the details of the device that states that anything can be done other than "write changes". Even in a program. It's no big deal to push twice, it would be nice if it would work in this manner. I understand how and why its set this way, but it would be GREAT if we could just set status in the eISY/ISY programs. Thanks John
  8. One more stupid question.... How does one know whether or not the OS upgrade took place? Where can you see the actual Linux OS version? Help > About only shows the firmware and UI. Thanks John
  9. Replying to my own post above, I clicked on Upgrade Packages again out of not knowing what else to do. After it said all packages were updated I hit the reboot iOX. I now have the polyglot login and can login. SO... what was upgraded? why con't there be a "one and done" scenario for this amazing device. It just seems... complex for lack of a better word when it shouldn't be. I read above that someone had to reboot their device upwards of 5 times as I recall but that might have been a Polisy. In any event, all seems fine but why does it take multiple reboots? Why can't the eISY when we log in advise us upgrades pending and click that update button? Or does it and I haven't found it yet? Thanks! John
  10. I just updated my eISY from 5.6.4 to 5.7.0. Rebooted one time when it told me to do so. Cleared Java Cache and downloaded/ran the new start.jnlp. No issues as described within this thread EXCEPT: I do not have any polyglot servers/services as of yet and I used to be able to get into the polyglot v3 logon from wither the main ISY Finder or from the apps menu. (Launch Polyglot V3). I get an err_connection_refused. eisy.local refused to connect. I have two eISYs in use and the second one I have yet to upgrade and won't until I get onsite. It is on 5.6.4 and I can get into the polyglot login and see what servers are available to install and all that stuff. How do I get into my polyglot stuff and UDI store when I am ready to purchase/try polyglot stuff under 5.7.0? And my apologies if this was mentioned somewhere within this thread and I missed it. I did read all of them before I did the upgrade. Thanks! John
  11. Just trying to fully understand things on this new update. So far from what I have been reading; Polisy has had the most problems with this upgrade/update. eISY has had few issues with this upgrade/update. Am I correct in assuming that this upgrade will now be problem free with the eISY moving from 5.6.4 to this 5.7.0? (With me it has always been something it seems). John
  12. Well, normally maybe a few times a week. Somedays it could be a few times a day. I've been testing vtext.com all day from my comcast account and my old business email with maybe a dozen tests from each domain in short succession and in less than a minute it's there in my android messaging app. I suppose that with the 100's+ that UDI relays, that it could be in issue. I still feel that it is very suspect to have this extremely lengthy delay happen all at once after months of very acceptable service and corresponding to my migration from ISY to eISY. We can close this forum post as I set it up to go through my old work mail server and so far so good. Not sure why I didn't do that years ago other than it was easier to check [ ] Default! Now I will endeavor to learn more about the pg3 nodes available on the store and move even more forward! Thank-you all. I did in fact learn a lot. Hopefully you all can appreciate where I am/was coming from. John
  13. Not to be argumentative, but I can send a vtext email from gmail, my business domain, comcast or other email addresses and it gets to me in less than a minute. It is in fact an issue! There is no doubt about it.
  14. @Geddy Thanks again. It s in fact 5.6.4_7 . I attached a vtext that was sent last night and received just a few minutes ago just to show this MAJOR lag. Note the times and just for info. A ten hour lag give or take.
  15. Everyone, Thank-you for the replies and suggestions to STF, which I do try and sometimes get that right combination of search terms! And I do understand that UDI has a lot of traffic to handle and maybe more filters on end point providers systems but the crux of all this is: Why all of a sudden? Very acceptable on old ISY, not so acceptable on my new eISY's. Was I just lucky? Fo...r a long time? This is what is unusual and sudden. I swear my old ISY994 was in fact very much acceptable. Again, received some of my tests last night this AM! That has never happened before. @DennisC Notifications with pushover, does that also require UD Mobile installed on all phones? I will see if I can go to the store and find the differences. I know that there is a notifications beta version and another notifications version already installed, sort of, just need to do a set up. Lot's to learn again! Thanks! John
  16. Alrighty... things are still not going through in a timely manner! vtext is hours and gmail is somewhat faster, maybe 5 to 10 minutes which is a lot longer than with my ISY. I did in fact run update and did a reboot. I had an issue with my eISY in that the reboot dialogs didn't appear and sent in a ticket regarding that and Michel stated we are fully up to date. Both eISY's just don't want to send default notifications in any kind of a timely manner. using the test button or running that portion of my program or having that program run. They, my programs, are enabled. Time to submit another ticket? Man I hate to be "that guy". Has Verizon blacklisted UDI? Anything else I should check? Thoughts, suggestions? John
  17. @DennisC Gotcha and fully understand!! Will report back later! One of my eisy's after clicking upgrade packages shows correctly the dialog "Your system is being upgraded..." My other eisy when doing the same thing, no dialog pops up! Argh. Always something it seems. SO... I will wait a while... reboot the eISY that did not show the dialog and try again. OR... if that dialog does not show up, does that mean the eISY is fully up to date? John
  18. @DennisC Thanks so much for the reply! Both my eISY's are on 5.6.4 and the one that really brought this issue to my attention was updated just before I migrated it from the ISY. It has had several reboots and iOX reloads after the update and migration.. The other eISY is/was just as slow and it too has had several reboots and iox reloads.. At least they, my test messages, came in this AM! Not sure at what time they actually hit the phone as I turned it off last night! Possibly the bug missed the fix in the latest release? John
  19. Good evening! Over the past several days, actually since I migrated from ISY to eISY, have noticed that both of my eISY's, which currently use the default notification settings via UDI email, have been very very slow! Prior to migrating to the eISY, notifications were very quick... within a couple minutes anyway and sometimes almost instantaneous. Not so; especially tonight, 8/29 at 2020 hours PST and on. Notifications via gmail took about 10 - 15 minutes and I am still waiting 30+ minutes for verizon (@vtext.com) to come through. Again usually a lot quicker. I worry that with instant notifications being rolled out through UD Mobile that there might be some 'issues' with the default notifications. I have a group of people who are to get certain notifications that won't have or install UD Mobile and text is the best way to reach them. I have yet to 'play' with or install the instant notification system as I have been very satisfied with the default system. Maybe something else is amiss? ya know, I would even pay for the default system as it took care of my needs exceptionally well. Thanks for any insight! John
  20. BIOS is that little computer's Basic Input Output System that tells the hardware what devices to boot, what hardware is enabled, if it boots with the numlock key, and etc. Firmware is software that makes the eISY IoX work and it is stored in hardware memory, nonvolatile. Hope this might help. John
  21. I am no expert but just migrated to the eisy from the isy. A couple of thoughts that might help are: (whihc is what I did before I started my migration 1). factory reset your eisy. 2). do a factory reset of your PLM. Hold set button and plug in. Keep holding it until beeping stops. 3). Ensire PLM is plugged into power and the eisy BEFORE powering on the eisy. (The ISY required it. Doubt the new hard ware requires it, but still consider it). 4). Upgrade all modules. Bring it up to current version of firmware. Restart IOX. 5). After the restart of IOX, if using Insteon, check the checkbox for Insteon. if using Zwave, checkbox that too. etc. 6). Restart IOX. again 7). Restore the eisy from ISY backup 8). Restore PLM. This will also reprogarm all your devices (Insteon anyway), to the new PLM. This takes some time. The more devices the longer it takes. 9). Test. This did the trick for me! And I hope this might help! John
  22. Never mind. For some reason Alexa was slow as it took several hours before she decided to do my will. Thanks John
  23. Boy am I behind the curve! I knew and read that the iSY994 was discontinued, hence the upgrade to the eisy, but I sure skipped over the modules stuff. Thanks so much for the replies and the link to the node servers available. A lot of folks will be using the ISY for a long time I will bet as it still works very well. Wish UDI could make a static page if and when you click the Purchase Module instead of a 404 on the ISY. Again, thanks! John
  24. In preparing for migrating my ISY994 to the new eISY, I thought I would refamilarize myself with what modules are available as I thought I might be able to use a weather module for some of the stuff I am planning on doing on the eISY. SO.. on my isy994i, I go to Help > Purchase Modules and it opens a link with my UUID attached and it comes up with a fancy 404 error page. Woops 404 Not found. Tried several times then tried on my other ISY994i and same 404. Can someone advise me if modules are dead for the isy or just a temp problem on UDI's end? Are there any modules available for the eISY? Thanks! John
  25. @javi Excellent!! Works well now!! Thank-you! John
