Just received this if anyone is interested: As of June 1, 2023, the RadioRA 2 main repeater, all starter kits containing the RA2 main repeater, and all Grafik T RF controls for RadioRA 2 will be discontinued.

Well, for the "While I am waiting to see if INSTEON comes up with a new PLM in the 1st Quarter of 2023" I am replacing some of my critical modules and wall switches with Zigbee units. Working fine so far, Oh I do have (1) Z-Wave module also, it is on my 2 cup coffee pot that I keep forgetting to turn off after I pour my coffee. Working fine... turns the unit off after 6 minutes of "ON" time. I am now trying to link Home Assistant to Polisy. Getting there. The brain is giving me a run for my money, slow process.

Could very well be the 4 motion sensors in a row causing the issue. He should probably tape them all and remove the tape one switch at a time (while monitoring the signal) to see if that is the problem and give him an idea as to what the safe number of switches with motion sensors in a row he can have active.

Interesting Z-Wave byproduct, a possible problem....? Buffering and WiFi audio issues? Check out this video and you be the judge. Linus Tech Tips has 15M subscribers and does make some good points. Check out his video about this. A few years ago I decided to change out the original whole house surge protection with the Levinton unit below. I have not had any real issues since then. Since then, the highest AC voltage monitored on the incoming power lines was I believe 128volts, I am not sure, although I could dump the db. We do get a lot of power outages whether it is for a second or two to a few hours and I am thinking that when the power comes back on may be the issue. I believe I counted 30+ of those outages this year with most being just for a few seconds. For the short term I am going to install a few of my Zigbee outlet modules, but I am planning to hold out for the RA3. I just received an email from U-D that the Matter card for the Polisy is shipping now. Back to Amazon for Zigbee modules and a wall switch or two to keep the wife happy

@MrBill The PLM versions are (1) 24135 (V2.3 or V2.4)Trashed years ago (2) 24135 V2.5 [471B] (replaced the capacitors with no luck) (1) 2413U V2.6 [452B] (died a few weeks ago) As far a as I am concerned, it is time to switch from Insteon to Lutron or something like that. Heck my X10 held up from the late 70's into the 2000's with little or no problems, still have a box full of X10 modules, remotes and other accessories in the shed, that all worked when I switched to Insteon years ago. I am not interested in WiFi or a Cloud based system. I will download the node server for something like the RA2 (since there is nothing available for RA3 yet) and start changing out the Insteon devices. Not sure, but I do not remember seeing any Remote Modules or AC Receptacles for the RA2 or RA3 so I may have to find a work around for those 6 items. Was looking at Zigbee (not sure of its future), but leaning more toward Lutron now.

Over the years I have gone through 3 RJ45 versions of the PLM and now my last one which is a USB version, died. So, I believe it is time to move away from the Insteon product line to one of the other options. Now I just need to narrow down which to go with. Not a big fan of Z-Wave, looking more toward the ZigBee type. The hunt is on

It has been a while and I was just looking at my Polisy "To--Do" list and came across the "Ecobee Forecast" info. I would like to access some of the forecast fields that are in the forecast but for the life of it I have no clue as to where to start. I am sure I will need to do something like Node red or something like that. The only thing that I have running using ecobee is the attic fan based on the difference between the outside temp and the attic temp. Hints

Even the "Wired" magazine picked up on the Insteon debacle. https://www.wired.com/story/insteon-shutdown/?bxid=5e9da520f543e6336310d1de&cndid=60773587&esrc=profile-page&mbid=mbid%3DCRMWIR012019 &source=EDT_WIR_NEWSLETTER_0_DAILY_ZZ&utm_brand=wired&utm_campaign=aud-dev&utm_content=WIR_Daily_042122&utm_mailing=WIR_Daily_042122&utm_medium=email&utm_source=nl&utm_term=P6

You may enjoy this. Been awhile since I watched this, like quite awhile. Cat5/6 to each switch....

I have one incandescent bulb left in the house, it is a 100 watt (actually 99.8 watts) that I use for calibrating my Energy Management Circuit Transformer circuits. It is wrapped in packing air pouches just in case with a note on it "Do Not Use". I know I should just upgrade my meter.

Need help Documenting my ISY994i configurations
Mustang65 replied to Old Surfer Dude's topic in ISY994
Don't forget to add any required subscriptions and links to them for portals, support.... ID's and passwords I have a "Work in Progress" that I call "Death Star" (no comments please) and the iCON sits in the middle of my desktop screen. My son is aware of it, but breaks out in a cold sweat when I mention it. i set up a VLAN to my UniFi network for him to access all this stuff. Wife not interested in any of it.... well only the lights coming on and off and the alarm system. Son will probably remove the bulk and install in his house. He spent a lot of time in IT so that is half the battle.- 10 replies

I just tested my ISY on Polisy messaging response using myphonenumber@vtext.com (Verizon) and it took exactly 7 seconds, which is longer than normal. When I first started using this feature, I did create a gmail account for my ISY use.

You may want to try to assign a Static IP address. Eventually when the Polisy connects to the WiFi, while it is connected, go into UniFi and give it a Static IP address. After that, even if it gets changed back to DHCP it will still use the UniFi Static assigned IP address.

In UniFi, do you have "Hide WiFi Name" turned on. You may have to turn it off to set it up and then turn in back on after it is connected. Unfortunately, for some of my media center and IoT things, I have to leave IoT visible.
