Double-Tap Not Working

I have two ToggleLinc in a virtual 3-way. They are both part of my "Rec Room Theater 3-way" scene and are both set as controllers. The ramp rate is set to 8.5 sec for the scene and for both devices in the scene.

My issue is that a double tap on either the load switch or the non-load switch will not do a fast on or a fast off.

Any ideas what to check to help debug this issue?

Thanks!

Hello HokiePerogi,

If you cannot even do a fast on on the load switch, then I suspect you have defective switches. You might want to try:

1. Factory reset both switches

2. Do a Restore Device on each

With kind regards,

Michel

Ok Michel, I will try that when I get home today. One more thing to point out, I do have an IRLinc as well. I can see the blue led blinking when I single tap or double tap. Do you think the IRLinc could be interfering with the Togglinc double-tap?

HokePerogi,

I don't think IRLinc can interfere with your devices. The main question is:

if you double tap on a switch does the local load turn on to 100%?

Michel

I have a switch in the bathroom that does the same thing. I double tap it, but it does nothing. This is not a bad idea to checked that the IRlinc is blinking on the double tap for Insteon traffic. If that is the case could the on level be set to zero percent then?

Mark, that's a good thought. But the on-level does not apply for a FastOn (double-tap).

If a single tap turns the load on, and a double tap does not, that does sound like a bad switch to me.

I factory reset both switches in the virtual 3-way and restore them both. Double-tap still does not work. When I unplug the IRLinc, double-tap still doesn't work from either of the ToggleLincs in the virtual 3-way.

However, Fast-On and Fast-Off from the ISY Admin Panel works just fine.

HokiePerogi,

Does single-tap on the switch work? When you double-tap the switch, does it operate at the single-tap settings, or does it do nothing at all?

Okay...so it seems it might have been user error this whole time. I can get the FastOff and FastOn to work if I double tap. However, it seems that I have to double tap extremely quickly. Perhaps it's slightly more difficult being a ToggleLinc instead of a SwitchLinc.

Sorry for the confusion.

HokiePerogi,

No apologies necessary. I'm so glad you have it working. I've not used the ToggleLincs, but can well imagine that it would be a little more difficult to do a quick double-tap with toggles as opposed to paddles.

I haven't used the ToggleLincs, but even with SwitchLincs it takes some practice to get the timing right. You need to be about as quick as a standard mouse double-click.
