Weather Bug Data Simulation?

Is there a way to simulate the modules data?

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,

I am sorry I do not understand what this means. Do you want to have ISY connected to a simulated WB or do you want ISY to generate random events for itself? In either case, the answer is NO. But, the first case is easier since we do not have to implement much. We can just basically have ISY point to something else.

With kind regards,

Michel

I'm interested in an option to point the weather bug module at a non-Weather Bug RSS feed.

I wrote a script that queries my neighbor's web accessible weather station and spits out the data in the same RSS format as Weather Bug uses. I had been planning on setting up some sort of custom DNS proxy or routing setup to redirect the ISY to my RSS transparently, but I never got around to finishing that part of the project.

Hi Non Sequor,

Unfortunately that will not work for the following reasons:

1. ISY does not use RSS feed. It uses WB's XML APIs

2. There is really no easy way of pointing ISY to something else for WB

Alternative approaches:

1. You can have your neighbor's weather station publish to WeatherBug

2. You can use variables, read from your neighbor, and then update variables in ISY

With kind regards,

Michel
